Agree Terry, I hit the link not really knowing what I was going to. It ws then that I realized I just gave them one more vote of credibility. Crap!

Miltonians are a quiet people, don't talk too loud as you may wake them

I beg to differ. I have seen it a couple of times when a driver was slow pulling over to give right of way but here in Hamilton and Burlington drivers could perhaps be a little more conscientious?
-
Thanks Wayne, I missed that link to the story so there it is a real collection which I didn't doubt but the NY part is dressing for the imagination. Heck of a nice assembly of cars! Wouldn't we all love to have a barn full like that?

Nissan outboards are reasonably priced made by Tohatsu (sp?) and some of the smaller ones, the 6hp and 8hp 4 strokes are Mercury.
-
That is a treasure of a find. The weird part of the whole story is that you would think that there would be some local yokels, oldtimers that would remember that the owner had all those cars and would have passed the word onto anyone that inquired about what was locked away in the barn.

Bump... I think this needs to be bumped back up to the top of the page.

I very well may be wrong but isn't Tracker boats owned by the same guy (company) as BPS?

Good news for the ice fishing franternity

Any one ever heard of that story from Al Gore....oh what was it now? Oh yeah that tale about global warming. We all remember him right? The guy that cries cutting back and strikes fear into our children of gloom and doom while he and his family enjoy the comfort of having a $4000.00 per month utility bill. Hmmm a freezing winter will help the naysayers of that theory to say "See I told you so." Me I don't side with either platform on that subject, I just like to observe, laugh and say oh what ever you want to believe and shoot my mouth off. That's only, can I say it? Please just my 2 cents worth. -
I've never looked at the country of origin for these reels. I'll betcha that they aren't made in China? If they are made on this continent that may attest to the price and the high quality with being made over here that comes with it. And the other pointed out facts as to the machining would no doubt come into play.

Boat flipped over during Salmon Derby finally replaced

Nice boat! Congratulations! Now, the Timmies remark, Williams has a better brew of java, the problem is that so many are accustomed to Horton's flavour or the lack of flavour that other brands are viewed to be inferior. Have you ever seen the line ups at that place in the summer? Wow! They must be making money. BTW I may be wrong but I think Williams is owned by McDonalds. -
A Little Information about the Drowned Kayaker

Sorry for his family's loss. I heard the report on last night's newscast. I admit, the first thing I thought of was why would anyone venture out onto L. ON in that wind? Quickly my thoughts turned to how his family must feel at hearing about him which erased my first knee jerk reaction. I then thought of how many of us have been caught out on the water in a fast moving storm, especially an unpredicted sudden gale. Beware of what is over your shoulder and do your best to think before hand about an escape route. May his god be with him. -
You're right Lew and that is something the dealer never did either when they changed the bottom end oil on mine. They changed my oil the first 2 times since new. I changed it myself this year and guess what? Both seals had the original factory paint on the outer edge of them. I changed the seals this time and they charged me a buck a piece for them.

Send tutors out into the bush to teach them I guess sounds like a good dumbass politician's solution to the problem.

If you are close to a Princess Auto store they have the bottom end oil pump for $5.05 with the tax. I just bought one last week, the shelf ticket said it was 8.99 so it was a nice surprise when the cashier asked me for 5.05

I never saw a thing, had my eyes closed and can't respond to anything. Hope you saved some money.

I would also be concerned about stability. The shape of your hull indicates that this could be a tippy boat, especially up in the bow. Are you going to add any flotation?

Just wondering if you decided to cross the border for a Clam? If you did what did customs say?

Great summary of your Ontario fishing adventure I wish you a safe journey home. Perhaps you can continue posting some reports from the UK?

Probably my last Fishing Report for a while - full of fishin' pics

Have to agree with you about that, too many small ones being kept for the frying pan. Wonder if a limit of 20 would make a difference after a few years of being enforced? Good report on a good days fishing. -
If asked to pull over to claim your purchases expect to pay at least both taxes. If the item was imported into the States from a foreign land (China) expect to pay duty. If it was made in the States or perhaps Canada then there will not be any duty. There is probably a government website regarding duties and exemptions if you Google it. Have a good trip to the land of cheap. Maybe try this for some answers

I have never owned one so I can't comment on what you are quoted. It will pay to look around because that sounds like a lot of money. When we had a motorhome... a long time ago...my insurance broker was charging over 1200 bucks a year then! Just before we sold it I located an insurance broker in Beaverton ON., the name was Wayfarers insurance and their rate for the same coverage was just over $400 !!!! for a year! So look around, even do a Google search for Wayfarers and see what you can come up with. They may have a snowmobile policy. I just found the link, they don't mention sled insurance but they do say that other insurance is available. Why not contact them and ask? Wayfarer website

Nice boat Garry, and a nice bass report. You know a cold front with temps in the 70's sounds like a warm front anywhere north of where you're at this time of year. Today it will maybe hit 5C in Hamilton. Glad to hear too that your insurance company came through and you found a nice boat.

Congrats Lew Now just don't go taking any guff from the young punk eh! Save up those dollars for some fine gear. But remember to put aside a couple of bucks for the tax man as he may want a couple of extra coins from you.

No I'm not overly concerned about stocked fish dying off. I am concerned about the reason for the die off, low water levels etc. If conditions don't improve then what will be next? Are the salmon dying off an indication as to what could happen in the future? Take the report for what it is worth that is all. Perhaps it is just an interesting news story and probably nothing more.
