Yep, you said it. And the reputation this lake has is exactly why I haven't wasted my time with it.

Keep your money and at least put it toward a canoe. Did you see this weeks Canadian Tire flyer? Good deal on a canoe with a narrow transom for an electric motor set up. You would be better off with that for 550 bucks. My linkhttp://canadiantire.shoplocal.com/canadiantire/Default.aspx?action=entryflash&LanguageID=1&cid=AM_FLYERLAND_iFlyer_ENG

Sweet! What a shame to get it wet. Even more of a shame to get it slimed! Have some great tmes in it and catch many, many fish.

Get a battery operated air pump and your live minnows will stay that way although 12 hours is a stretch. As for Gulp Alive, haven't tried it. Gulp in the bag does work that I know.

Give it a break guys. Christ if a guy can't pass on info like this then OFC is really getting petty. This is exactly the reason I don't pass on the deals I see every once in a while when there is a clearout at work. I have seen some impressive deals that some members would appreciate but I just zip it up and say nothing because of the narrow minded thinking around here by a few members. Thank you for the news on Epps, even though it will not do me any good as I have to work and will be nowhere close to the area. Here's something that will make somebody drool. We let a brand new 9x7 slightly dented garage door go yesterday for a hundred bucks! I mention that only so I can see you squirm!

Welcome aboard anytime.

That was great We could have built them a permanent compound above the arctic circle for less $$$$ and wouldn't have needed so much security and all attending countries could contribute a pittance to keep it going for all future summits. What a crock of bulls...we endure from our "elected" officials. Bend over just a little further fellow Canadian, it won't hurt....I promise.

This guy was a Dumb Ass. So was his buddy that taped it. A true candidate for the "You are an idiot" spot on Q107.

The things I come across once in a while going fishing
pikehunter replied to vinnimon's topic in General Discussion
That must have hurt. Looks like a familiar lower Grand River location. Wouldn't feel too bad about not assisting as it would have jeopardized your own safety and vehicle. -
Life is getting to be a real pain in the We're being regulated to death! So lets see, we need proof of registration, proof of purchase, a boat operator license, a fishing license, a drivers license for photo ID, a passport if fishing along the border, a health card, a credit card just in case, a Pioneer gas card to collect your points, s Sobey's grocery card in case we get hungry, a AAA/CAA card, and oh ya, a Casino Rama players card if we happen to be fishing on Couchching or Lake St. John so we can pop in and give a donation to the 1 armed bandit. Did I forget any?

First few days were the easiest as I didn't feel like doing much anyway. After that it got harder to keep my head down. I didn't spend every minute laying face down after the first few but did keep my head down 90% of the time. It was interesting to close my right eye and look around with the other operated eye because everything appearing upside down 'cause of the gas bubble. As it was gradually naturally replaced with fluid then things were really neat! The gas filled part of my eye saw an upside down image while the fluid filled part of my eye saw the world right side up! I had nothing much to do all that time so I played upside down/right side up games...almost like a mild acid trip. All the best with your retina repair. Hopefully you will not have to go through all of this, you should be OK from the way you described the problem.

Vision recovered fine after that, well back to my usual poor vision. As said, 2 years later I had to have cataract surgery in the same eye just like the Doc. said would happen. The whole thing was truly a miracle! Since my farsightedness was so severe I also had to have cataract surgery on my right eye also so that my vision could balance out and a cataract was beginning to develop in that eye, with just the one eye with a new artificial lens I was seeing double. After the cataract operation on both eyes my vision went from (-11? script)pop bottle bottom thick glasses to 20/20 in one and close to 20/20 in the other! Amazing, a scientific miracle no more glasses! I only need glasses for some close up reading now so dollar store cheaters are great! I did have go in for some laser surgery on both twice as I did (and still occasionally) see double if I look at a white object on a black background or at a light. Night driving is now a little more difficult but that may be because I'm now 54 years old.

Yes. Started as a long black line which stayed in place, did not move like floaters do. I thought it was just a large floater in my eye so I ignored it...tried to ignore it that is. Fina ally after about 3 days i went to the Doc. after it became worse. He immediately sent e to an eye Doc. (Dr. Singer, Burlington) he was good enough to fit me in at the end of his day. After examination he says I had a hemorrhage in my eye but couldn't see the extent of damage due to the amount of blood in my eye, and to go to emerge if it got worse and to come back in a week. It got worse. Went to emerge and they then sent me to Oakville Trafalgar Hosp. to see the eye doc on call as it was then Easter Sunday and she was the only one on call in the area. She examined the eye, looked into it, put some drops in it, xrayed it. Said I needed immediate surgery but it was beyond her ability. Said I would hear from her in the morning after she got in touch with a Doc. in Toronto. Next morning she called, told me to go to see Dr. Wong at T.O's St. Micheals Hospital right away. I was the only one there to see him as it was a holiday for them but he was in the office to clean up some paperwork. He wanted to operate right away but a serious accident had happened and the O.R was not available. I had to go back on Wed. for the operation. By then I had lost full vision in my left eye, everything was black. After the surgery (3 retina tears and the hemorrhage) I had to lay on my stomach for I think it was 2 weeks. During the surgery they remove the fluid from your eye and inject a gas so that is the reason for laying on my stomach, to keep the gas bubble in contact with the back of the eye to keep the retina from detaching. During the recovery the gas bubble slowly gets replaced by fluid. As this happened it was like looking at the world through the surface of water with little waves going back and forth as the fluid splashed back and forth! Also through the gas all was upside down! Really neat! At least I had some entertainment while recovering! Anyway sorry for the novel. It was a hell of an experience, fr me anyway. Hope yours is not as bad. Get it looked after right away, if your vision gets worse don't hesitate. Best of luck. BTW, he said I would have a cataract in that eye in 2 years....he was dead on the mark.

Beans, read the ingredients. Basically a slow release Tylenol, that is why it is 650 mg, part of this is in a slow release form. Remember, acetaminophen also constipates some people. Hate to see you go to the Doc. only for him to tell you once again your full of crap. once again.

Non boaters are not the only people guilty of that! We all have to have some patience. I too have sat there and waited and waited and waited and getting hotter and hotter and hotter under the collar. What good does it do though? NONE! Like it says below. "Problems are just opportunities in unattractive packages." Perhaps if all of us, me included, was to look at it this way and give a helping hand bad situations could perhaps turn into good situations. Maybe a little assistance and conversation while offering it at a ramp might educate them and you just may receive some bonus dividends. Just a thought.

My R. knee was scoped last June to repair a meniscus tear and he also "cleaned up" some arthritis. I was off work quite some time for healing and pain. Went back to work and it is still painful. Went through a set of 3 synvisc shots at 455 bucks for some temporary relief. Supposed to have them every 6 months but the cost is hefty and my insurance pays just once a year but I am thankful for even that. Six weeks ago I had a cortisone shot and it felt almost new for about 5 weeks. Had another one this week and it feels pretty good until the end of a working day. At least it's easier to get up and go down stairs, but cortisone is not a solution. As for so called natural remedies I haven't much faith in those either, one study says yep they work, another says nope! Live with it is the alternative. And keep popping Advil

Dead smelt wash up across Lake Erie
pikehunter replied to splashhopper's topic in General Discussion
Twocoda, a link in regards to Erie. L. Erie Rigs another Yes these are not oil rigs, but where there's gas there's oil. At least so far we have been lucky and have had no incidents in regards, at least as we have been allowed to know. Can you imagine the blame Canada would be facing if something was to happen on Erie! Any fish die off is newsworthy, hopefully it was a natural occurrence with these smelt such as water temp change. -

I know you were making a "humourous" comment, but the U.S does not have any drilling sites on L. Erie, but Canada does allow them. -
That is undeniably the quote of the day! Congratulations on #1
