  1. I think my Cabela's 5mm neoprenes are about 20 years old now. Still no leaks.
  2. Good idea; that may work if the population is still confined to a small area. It won't eliminate them once they spread but could control their numbers.
  3. Thanks, does this utilize the thermocoupler that controls the safety for the pilot light?
  4. Warm clothes and sleeping bags. I do have a natural gas fireplace. Even though the fire is turned on and off via and electrical switch; it does seem to work during a power outage. I am not sure how that works.
  5. In fairness, that is not one of the creeks that has been stocked with Atlantics.
  6. I pulled these figures off another site. I was impressed with the coho numbers. Chinook: 8,242 Coho: 1,502 Brown: 251 Rainbow: 350 Atlantic: 5 Grand Total: 10,350
  7. If I remember correctly, anyone found in the woods with a firearm was deemed to be hunting. Would this apply to an air pistol?
  8. Is there a difference in the quality of shots? Are the Leafs waiting for good opportunities to score before shooting while their opponents fire away from a bad location? If so, this could account for them scoring more goals with fewer shots.
  9. The Furniture Business A furniture dealer from Knoxville, Tennessee, decided that he wanted to expand the line of furniture in his store, so he decided to go to Paris, France to see what he could find. After arriving in Paris (this being his first trip to the French capitol), he met with some manufacturers and finally selected a line that he thought would sell well back home in Tennessee. To celebrate the new acquisition, he decided to visit a small bistro and have a glass of wine. As he sat enjoying his wine, he noticed that the small place was quite crowded, and that the one other chair at his table was the only vacant seat in the house. Before long, a very beautiful young Parisian woman came to his table, asked him something in French (which he did not understand), and motioned toward the chair. He invited her to sit down. He tried to speak to her in English, but she did not speak his language so, after a couple of minutes of trying to communicate with her, he took a napkin and drew a picture of a wine glass and showed it her. She nodded, and he ordered a glass of wine for her. After sitting together at the table for a while, he took another napkin, and drew a picture of a plate with food on it, and she nodded. They left the bistro and found a quiet cafe that featured a small group playing romantic music. They ordered dinner, after which he took another napkin and drew a picture of a couple dancing. She nodded, and they got up to dance. They danced until the cafe closed and the band was packing up. Back at their table, the young lady took a napkin and drew a picture of a four-poster bed. To this day, he has no idea how she figured out he was in the furniture business.
  10. As long as they don't start playing like the Flyers
  11. In fairness, Canadians use the same jokes as Americans. We just use 'newfie' instead of ethnic groups.
  12. Regardless of the intended use of the structure, he built it without a permit. Isn't that sufficient reason to tear it down?
  13. My niece's class assignment was to interview a senior citizen. She asked me, "What was the biggest historical event that happened during your life?" "Easy," I replied. "The moonwalk." She looked disappointed. "That dance was that important to you?"
  14. The Toronto meeting should be good. I was at the Pickering meeting today. We ended up talking a lot about Frenchman's Bay. However, they also had quite a bit about the down town area. There has been a lot of studying being down in that area. I think they tailor the sessions somewhat to the location. There should be an interesting discussion if you get a good turn out. I think they have more info about that area.
  15. Good point about age of a 'new tire'. My tires show 2011 which is the year I bought them from Canadian Tire. My 8.5 year old spare does not have any cracks. Obviously CTC should not be selling 3+ plus year old tires as new. However, I wouldn't expect those issues even if the tire was a few years old; at least not if it is stored indoors. Unless those tires are much more than 5 years old, or stored in extreme conditions, I would think the problem was more to do with a manufacturing defect than the age of the tire.
  16. Just a reminder, the Pickering session is today. I understand that the Tuesday meeting was not well attended. Thursday October 24, 2013 Pickering City Hall, Council Chambers One the Esplanade South, Pickering, Ontario L1V 6K7 Doors open at 6:30 PM, presentation starts at 7:00 PM meeting to conclude at 9:00 PM.
  17. Yes, any cop can lay fisheries related charges. They usually only charge for fishing without a licence because they are not trained for enforcing the fisheries act. However, they can charge for other fisheries related offenses too.
  18. And they don't send reminders anymore. Make sure you check to see if your card is expiring this year.
  19. I remember when they first brought dinged us with the $6/card charge... It occurred when they went from paper to plastic cards. We were told that the charge was to pay for a more efficient system??? It the system is more efficient, why do we have to pay extra for it?
  20. There will also be a meeting in down town Toronto next week. Tuesday October 29, 2013 Metro Hall, Room 308 and 309 55 John Street, Toronto, Ontario M5V 3C6 Doors open at 6:30 PM, presentation starts at 7:00 PM meeting to conclude at 9:00 PM.
  21. Mileage alone is not a good determining factor for break wear. Obviously, stop and go city traffic is going to wear your breaks faster than the equivalent mileage on the highway. Towing or driving with a heavy load will wear the brakes faster. Driving off road and getting your breaks dirty can cause them to wear quicker. An aggressive driver will go through breaks faster... It would be an over simplification to compare the experience of one person with 2wd against one with 4wd without taking city vs highway, on road vs off road, towing and heavy loads, and driving habits into consideration.
  22. If you are in the eastern GTA I would contact Boat Tech in Pickering. They may be able to help.
  23. Canadian Tire always seems to have a 4 tires for the price of 3 deal going. The deal seems to be on-going, but the specific tires that it is offered on change from week to week. If you can afford to wait a bit, then I would just keep checking with Canadian Tire until the have a 4 for 3 deal on one of the tires that will suit your needs.
  24. You should be able to get more than three years from a battery. Keep them charged and check the water levels. Distilled water is best if they need to be topped up; but tap or lake water is probably better than not have adequate water levels. The sooner you can charge them after using them the better.
  25. I assume that you mean the ones that attach to your cavitation plate. A rear mounted motor will not give you as good of control as a bow mount. I think that a cavitation plate mounted motor would give you even less control than a transom mount.
