  1. If your new laptop does not have a DVD drive then you should be able to pick up an external one that connects to a USB port at a reasonable cost.
  2. It depends a lot on your needs. My wife drives a Rav4. It is a good vehicle for her. But it is not much use for off roading or towing.
  3. Yes, I was able to split my income with Studio tax last year. I have been using it for several years now.
  4. Jays pick up a couple of pitchers https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/nationals-acquire-ben-revere-from-blue-jays-for-drew-storen-032403539.html http://www.torontosun.com/2016/01/05/blue-jays-acquire-right-handed-reliever-arnold-leon-from-athletics
  5. Was the $900 a one time fee versus $150 per year from Krown? If so, that is apples to oranges. The dealer may have been offering the electronic anti-rust system; I have less faith in these than in a regular coating.
  6. You have to give something up to get something. They can probably get a better return by trading him than they get for a weaker player. A lot depends on his contract too. If he becomes a UFA after the season then trading him now for someone who can help the team in two or three years may make sense.
  7. Re: "This particular gyrfalcon was only spotted once, on Dec. 27. But Preney said they're known to hunt ducks and other waterfowl, so the best bet on seeing it again would be to spend time near the Detroit River." I wonder if cormorants will be included in the 'other waterfowl'.
  8. Hopefully he will outgrow that soon. https://www.facebook.com/lunkerville/videos/10153086268472653/?theater
  9. Not totally not fishing http://calgaryherald.com/storyline/he-cant-operate-his-free-skating-rink-anymore-so-this-local-man-is-upcycling-bottle-caps?ref=yfp
  10. And the distribution charge will increase in March. That will be the third increase in under six months (Nov 1, 2015; Jan 1, 2016; & March 1, 2016). This of course is all Harris's fault... at least according to Wynne.
  11. No, it is open until March 31st. Both zone 16, and zone 20 (Lake Ontario and most, but not all, of its bays) are open until March 31st. The season closes April 1st and re-opens on the second Saturday in May.
  12. Thanks for your input. I am also considering Mobilicity if anyone has input for them.
  13. And the answer would yes, you are still covered if you are stupid.
  14. I would say $200-$250. I think half the price of new is a reasonable guideline for a used item in good condition.
  15. I don't think that one is true.
  16. You must have a very old one. The new ones are not plasticized and it is illegal to laminate them. However, a zip lock bag should be able to keep all your ID dry in the boat. I use them for anything that needs to stay dry when I am out in the boat.
  17. Is anybody here with Wind Mobile? Is there service in the GTA any good? I know that they are not going to provide the same coverage as Bell or Rogers; but they are a lot cheaper. Do they at least provide decent service in the GTA? Is there anything that I should know before signing up with them? They advertise their plans as unlimited data but provide a figure (e.g. 2gb full speed allotment). I assume that this means they do not charge extra for data usage but they will slow the service down after I reach 2 giga bytes. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks.
  18. I was in Sail yesterday. I don't think they have any MotorGuides. You may have to go with MinnKota if you are buying from Sail. Minn Kota makes some good motors too. I don't think that should be a problem.
  19. You could use the little blue hand saw.
  20. Crocus bulbs ... or, were you responding to someone else?
  21. It has been a windy month. This Friday will be the only day that the winds will die down enough to get my boat out on Lake Ontario. Unfortunately, I don't think that taking the boat out on Christmas morning will sit well with the family.
  22. I can understand charges when someone is going looking for tow jobs to earn some cash; but I don't think accepting an offer of cash from someone you happened upon is not quite the same. I often accept gas money from people that I take out in my boat. That is not the same as operating a charter service. I offered to help pay for gas when I car pooled for a drive up to Simcoe last winter. If he had accepted, that would not be the same as him operating an illegal taxi service. I can understand charges if someone refused to pull him out unless he paid. But, I think that accepting a voluntary token payment in appreciation for a favour is a whole lot different than operating and an unlicensed towing business.
  23. I was told my members of a 4x4 club to avoid metal hooks. They can become dangerous projectiles when things go wrong. They recommended a nylon strap with loops on both ends.
  24. I was planting crocus bulbs on the weekend.
  25. If the NHL hired Steve Harvey... https://www.facebook.com/HockeyTrolls/photos/a.385277351529084.87907.373179779405508/1006059809450832/?type=3&theater
