  1. I don't care about Rob's private life or even if he can "blow smoke rings out his butt." Bottom line is saving the taxpayers money. I sent him an e-mail several months ago asking him to come to Pickering after he is done with Toronto; then on to Ottawa. I have had it with scamming politicians.
  2. I have had luck with mink oil. (The type you would put on your boots to waterproof them.) Simply wipe some oil unto several small pieces of wood and distribute throughout the boat.
  3. Found this info on another board. Might be of some help to you 1990 20 hp Johnson igniton problems originally your engine had the UFI Ignition < at least one member fondly refers to it as the U Find It Ignition >.and OMC only used it for 4 years. The big difference in it and the usual CDI ignition on the 2 cylinder models is that the trigger sensor and powerpack are in a single unit and it's located under the flywheel along with the power coil. Prior to and after the 89 - 92 model years the powerpack was external to the flywheel < trigger sensor and power coil still under the flywheel>. You may have to get the OMC workshop manual to actually diagnose which component is failing. Marineengine dot com has diagrams of your motor. CDI electronics troubleshooting guide may also have a chart for diagnosing this system, but that's going to require a multimeter capable of reading dva.or a dva adapter for your mm. It's highly unlikely that both external coils would quit at the same time so I'd look to that powerpack/trigger combo, or the power coil.I'd be hesitant to tell you to replace either on mere speculation, however were it mine, I'd replace all the ignition components under the flywheel. If someone has already converted the UFI system and the power pack is mounted on the side of the block..post back and we'll look
  4. Was me........but I realized it was not cooked .....so I declined. LOL All kidding aside. Just wondering if it was a turtle. Appears to have been struck from beneath. Wound appears to be "v" shaped similar to a turtles mouth.
  5. Just wondering how many would remain behind in that cluster if a fellow fired 3 rounds of #6 shot; 3 inch magnum at 40 yards.
  6. I was really surprised that the SIU even laid charges against the so called police officer in question. Fiqured there would be about a years worth of reviews and new recommendations for the officers to follow and everything would just be forgotten. I had ranked them (SIU); the same as our Senate which is a complete waste of tax payers money.
  7. That dumb woodpecker must leave your place and arrive at my place by 6:50 am. Driving me nuts with his rapping on the steel guard on the telephone pole. Six mornings straight so far. LOL
  8. Might want to watch that first step ( where the woman and child made an appearance) at the sliding door as well.
  9. Mines in its 5th year and still going strong. Price was right as well. I keep a trickle charger on it as well during winter months. Helps to keep it from sulphating.
  10. I was in a similar situation about 6 years ago. Decisions, decisions. Finally decided on asphalt. Has at least a couple advantages over concrete and interlock. Cheaper and ice and snow will melt off asphalt much quicker during the winter months. I got 3 different estimates. I seal it each year. The asphalt has held up really well. Four vehicles running over it daily.
  11. I made the hitch frame from 1/2 inch black gas pipe for my portable. ( Use 3/4 for a larger application ) Home Depot sells the pipe and is easy to weld.
  12. Mine is a similar design and works great for me. Only difference is I welded a 2 inch ball coupler on the reciever end from Princess Auto. I use the valve springs (free) from auto motor rebuilder .
  13. Really love Haliburton Highlands in the winter. Very picturesque. Thanks.
  14. Back in the 70's; north end of Georgina Island on Lake Simcoe. Three vehicles left the Island road heading out to the huts. First heavy car jumps a crack.....keeps going. Same for the pickup truck following; jumps the crack ...keeps going. Third one in line an suv jumps the crack; hits the fractured slab of ice on the other side of the crack and sinks to the bottom. Floating slab of ice rolls over preventing any escape or immediate rescue. Grandfather and grandson.....gone.
  15. It's OK. But still am missing the old format. Do not adapt to change as I get older I guess.
  16. Fish it about 6 years ago in the summer. Only caught small bass. Have never seen anything on stocking lists about what was stocked in there.
  17. Boss Can't post a picture. I will e-mail you.
  18. I have used the HT windless for over 20 years still number one for catching big lakers and whities in Simcoe. The windless were available with two different size reels; make sure you purchase the larger reel (500 ft.) Less backlass with the bigger reel when the trout takes off; then all of a sudden stops. I built a wooden platform(3/4 plywood) then drilled and installed 4 legs (1/4x20 bolts.3 inchs long) which grab onto the ice so fish do not rip it down the hole. The windless is secured with a homemade turnkey to the platform. I use small hooks (#6 and a couple of small BB sinkers)and medium sized minnows.
  19. My 50 hp. 4-stroke Yamaha behaves the same when the temp. drops. It's 15 years old and still runs like new. Just condensation.
  20. Friend had the exact same problem as you are having. Found out it was the inside lining of the gas line had collapsed or rotted; leaving a very small passage for the gas to flow. Blamed it on ethanol sitting in the gas line all winter(s). Try switching gas line first before investigating carb. Add Shell V-Power gas (no ethanol) to tank with a good dose of Seafoam. Worked for him.
  21. Thanks to each and everyone for your input in to this matter. Greatly appreciated. Makes it easier for me to decide which way to go in solving this problem. Jim
  22. I have a drilled well; Approx. 200 ft. deep.with a water conditioner. (salt). The water at hot water tap has a rotten egg smell and iron deposits yellow the faucets etc. I need help deciding which filtration system to purchase. Any opinions appreciated. Thanks in advance Jim
  23. X4 on the Starbrite Hull Cleaner from CTC. Been using it on my aluminum for 4 years now; no problems such as eating the paint or dulling paint etc. Just follow instructions and I follow up with a coating of carnuuba wax.
