  1. I thought about him a lot today. How he must have felt when he realized he was lost; not knowing which way to go to get back to shore. When sheer panic sets in not knowing whether or not you are walking in circles all the time heading towards open water. Sure hope someone finds him soon sitting in a fish hut safe and sound.
  2. Congratulations Stan on your thread ; " emergency ice fishing kits." It had well over 400 hits and gave us all a "heads up" as to what we should carry with us on the ice in case something should go wrong. Maybe even saved someones life.
  3. Hearingfish if you are venturing out on a big lake like Simcoe say more than half mile from shore than I would add a compass. An ice spud added to the list to check ice thickness as you walk out.
  4. Casey will always be rememberd as a Lake Simcoe legend. One of the finest fisherman I have ever met. Miss him.
  5. Just wondering perhaps the deer was wounded during the deer hunt and got away; or hit by a vehicle and died of it"s injuries. Coyotes came by and stripped the carcase.
  6. There was about 600++++++ in the cut corn field behind my house last Sunday evening here in Claremont. Quite a sight to see when they took off.
  7. Lost both of my parents not too long ago. Think about them each day; but life goes on . The joke made me laugh.
  8. Great advice from the post's above Kenny! I bought a 1986 Cadorette with an I/O; boy what a mistake. A true money pit those inboards. It was 7 years old when I bought it. The drive went; cost me 2700.00 for a rebuilt shipped up from Florida. I was lucky I found parts after 3 weeks searching. Mechanic told me that when the trim and tilt was running in the up position for any length of time it left the spider gears with out oil. Poor technology on the OMC out drives. Motor was a 4 cylinder Chev. hard on gas. Never again.
  9. My neighbour just returned home with northern pike he found washed up on his beach. He was not sure if it was a musky or a pike. The pike measured 44 inches; weight about 16lbs. approx. No visable injuries or marks on the fish. Question is;Has anyone caught a pike in Twelve Mile Lake before? I have fished the lake many years . It has been mainly a lake trout and smallie lake. Came as a surprise to me how it got into the lake in the first place.
  10. Sorry to hear about your brother passing away Lew. I am sure Ed will be with you in Spirit each and every fishing trip you go on from here on in. Once again Lew; my deepest condolances. Jim
  11. A nice pair of whities Icefisherman. Three of us were on the water by 9:30 and by 10:15 we caught 5 nice whities. Drift fished for trout for the next half hour; landed a 13.5 lb. trout which we releasd. Beauty day to be out on the water.
  12. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the board! Gotta love those bow's.
  13. #10 guage wire should be sufficiant; however i would recommend an inline fuse in the positive (+) lead or feed wire. Location of this inline fuse holder should be located as close to the battery as possible. Fuse size enough to give overload protection. An inline breaker is another alternative. Use Thirstystone's advice when wiring.
  14. Well put Sam. I know of several vendors who gave up going to the show years ago. Waste of good grocery money for me! Too expensive.
  15. Mountain Lake is a good bet; fish out and around Wintergreen Island for laketrout and whitefish. 45-60ft. water. There is a slot size on the lake for lakers but not whitefish.
  16. Hey Lew; You are a class act. You do have a lot of friends and respect on this board. Anyways muskie fishing is just around the corner!
  17. Nice vids Terry: maybe we should buy some stocks for Aqua-vu!
