  1. Only been to Vegas once; but had a great time. Plenty to see and do without gambling if you wish. Just one word of caution. Watch your wallet. I caught a pick-pocket just as he was trying to unload my wallet from my rear pocket down on Freemont St. Overall we had a great time and will definately return again to Vegas.
  2. I winterize my 17 ft. StarCraft and 50 hp. Yammie for around $50.00. I cry because I have to pay $17.00 for a litre of lower gear lube. I feel that's a rip-off. Guess it's better than letting "the red ants bite my ass." lmao.
  3. So that's why the corn looks a little sparse at that end of the field!
  4. Congrats. Jack. Will be an awesome riding machine for this winter. Looks like his dog is jealous.
  5. The; leaning birch blue boat house crow's nest steps bull's pen Just to name a few.
  6. Buddy and I were fishing a small Haliburton lake when out of the blue this gull comes in for a landing a short distance away from the canoe. It had a black flat fish lure hooked in the corner of it's bill. We tied bread to a lure-less line and tossed it out to him. When he went for it. I gave the line a flip and intangled the lure in it's bill. Reeled him in with very little resistance. Took the lure out and let it go. It proceeded to dip and dive in the water for about a minute thanking us; then flew off.
  7. Thanks for the report Tom. Congrats. are in order. Good to see that quantity and quality of fish still being caught out of Lower Buckhorn Lake.
  8. Fished it back in the 70's and caught smallies and largemouth bass. Perch and catfish as well.
  9. Noticed a problem getting through to the General Discussion page last night. Started blaming myself right away. Now what button did I mistakenly press to cause this? Home Depot ad kept popping up. Never gonna shop there again if this doesn"t clear up. Ok now.
  10. Nice going Chris B. We need more guys like you to show the abuse of public funds that must be going on. However the excuse would be "we were on official business; servicing the public."
  11. Have to agree with Renegade 67 . I once witnessed an accident in the Mac's Milk parking lot and found the owner of the damaged vehicle (dented door). In turn she phoned the law; their reply was that the accident happened on private property. Sorry can't help you. Smells like a scam for sure. I would not pay a cent. Let time take its course. Wear him down by letting him have to contact you over a period of time until he comes up with a MUCH more reasonable offer or simply gives up.
  12. The numbskull risked anothers life and property in passing the plow and more than likely pull into the rest stop 10 miles down the road to have a coffee. (Or maybe change his underwear.)
  13. Now I know why the neighbor installed a 20 ft. high fence; noise and white-outs. Awsome machine.
  14. Mike ...........Me oh my where do I start first?
  15. Did you? Cut the hole first time out and bang the blades on the ice to clear chips etc. Let the blades come into contact with metal objects with the blade cover not in place. I did all the above at one time or other over the years and solution was to replace the blades.
  16. Put my buddy heater on the front seat of my truck to thaw the heavy ice from the windows. Heater was on low; heater cut off after a short duration. Had to leave the door cracked slightly for it to work properly. Was a good test for the CO control.
  17. Woke me up around 4 am. Said to myself; hope that wasn't my foundation I just heard breaking.
  18. Sorry to hear Cliff. You are always the first to reach out and try to help someone on this board. You don't deserve this run of misfortune right now; especially before Christmas. Hope the Lotto-Max people come looking for you.
  19. Fishing is a huge part of my life. Been fishing since around 8 years old when the old man took me ice fishing on Simcoe. Still have fond memories of looking down in 10 ft. of water and catching huge perch and pike etc. Lucky; Wife likes fishing as well as my two sons. We can be found most weekends fishing Simcoe; Kawartha's or Haliburton lakes. Now almost 68 years old and still gong-ho to go fishing. Family caught me sitting in my portable in the basement. Tease me about being in the fetal position with my thumb in my mouth waiting for the ice to form.
  20. I quit years ago because I did not want the doctor to tell me that my teeth are ok; but my gums have to go as well as one of my lungs. Each day I thank the good Lord that I am still here and had the will power to quit when I did. (31 years ago)
  21. Rob Ford's exposure has sure taken the media spotlight off McGuinty, Wallin and Duffy etc. etc. etc on Parliament Hill. They must be breathing a sigh of relief while they regroup.
