  1. As Sinker recommended.....you should change the fuel line Mike. Had the same thing happen to me last summer. Could not believe the problem was the fuel line; looked fine however the the inside had collapsed and was starving the engine of fuel under load etc.
  2. Tenants were likely a flock of "fly by nights". Too "cheep" to pay for thier logings and really don't give a "hoot" anyway. Just a bunch of "nesters". Sorry for your loss Norm. I need to go fishin real bad. Come on summer.
  3. Sure looks like a "hump back creeper" ; a cousin to the Meegs bad boy.
  4. Glad to see the "Palace" out on the ice and you both having a good time; especially your father-in-law. Nice to see hydro did not have to drop any overhead wires during transport. lol Enjoy.
  5. Just wondering how deep water species like lake trout and whities will cope during those hot sunny days of summer. Normally we receive 12-16 inchs of ice; which does not melt until late April. This cold surface water sinks to the bottom and produces more oxygen and colder temperatures which creates ideal temps.which is important for survival during summer. Even the water running into Lake Simcoe must be a lot warmer than usual.
  6. Hi fishNwire! I'm back. Don't forget to tighten that L-16 (bx) connector where the drill is plugged in or I cannot pass the wiring job. lol Can't wait to see the "Palace on the ice"
  7. Three of us went over to the Bog a couple of weeks ago. Tried in the weeds at daybreak.... nothing. Went out to 12 ft. with a muddy bottom and caught 5 nice wallys. 2@17"...2@ 18.5" and one 19.5 inchs. Had one on that I could not lift out through the 6 inch auger hole. Let it back down and it got off. Could not keep it anyways. All fish caught from 9 am. to 9:20 am. Went home at noon.
  8. Maybe try Canadian Tire again. Go to the sports dept. They have books under the counter where you can get a part number and they can order you one. May take 3-4 days. They do sell Jiffy products. That's how I obtained my second 10" cover. Now I put a bungee cord through the cover and auger just in case it wants to part company again.
  9. Great news. Just curious what they had to do to fix the problem. Replace the temperature sensor?
  10. Your 2010 Nissan should still be covered under the emmissons warranty as Irishfield stated. Maybe the parameters (tolerances)are set too close in the computor for the temperature. Ask the service department if any new bulletins have been issued by Nissan regarding this problem. The tech at the dealership would have to get into the vehicles computor to correct this particular problem. You can erase the codes with the OBD-2 reader but they will return within every 4 times you start the vehicle or approx. 15 km's. They will only clear when the problem is addressed. Don't be too quick to jump all over the sensor as being the problem; could be wiring between computor and sensor. (bad connections' pinched or skinned wire) Dealership should fix it for free. 2010 Nissan. Let us know how you make out with it.
  11. Thanks for the update singingdog. Let's hope for colder weather with no snow for a week or two.
  12. Looking forward to your reports Entropy. Saves me gas money.
  13. Hand washed my Mustang one-piece floater suit with warm water and mild soap. Rinsed well and hung to dry. Now when I put it on I have biceps like "popeye". Chest and leg areas are ok; just the insulation material in the arms that balled-up.
  14. Lots of retired people (like myself) in Lindsay who are looking for quality workmanship at fair prices. I am sure you will do well in your new venture Ernie.
  15. http://jetfloat.com/images/barge.gif Have you considered using "jetfloats". They can be fastened together; are light weight maintenance free cubes. Military use them for floating trucks across water and helicopter pads. Not sure how much per cube; but might be a lot cheaper than buying or building a steel barge. You can even install an outboard motor.
  16. Didn't know you had an arsenal of lifting and pulling devices at your disposal. lol With that equipment than there should be no problem dealing with the weight. Forgot to mention proper ventilation for wood stove. Have a window that will open. Going to be a nice hut. Enjoy
  17. Well you asked for feedback;so here goes FishNwire Your making your hut waaay too heavy. Secret is to keep it as light as possible for so you can handle it without an army of guys. First heavy snowfall is going to force ice down and water up: freezing those 2x10's into new ice unless you lift it weekly. A normal ice pick won't lift that weight. You would need a fence jack or other jacking means. Another problem arises with weight If there is slush on the lake in the spring when huts have to be off and can't get the truck out there to fetch it in. I have been making huts since 1967 and not a pro builder that's for sure but the secret is to keep it as light as possible. Try 2x4's for floor joists and 2x2's for framing, printers plate with 1 inch styrofoam for walls and half inch plywood for roof and floor. Plan your hole layout etc before you put down plywood. Build a sleigh sturdy and light as possible with 10-12 inch height. Either welded 1 inch pipe or wood with black abs on the wooden runners. Take your valuables home with you when your not at the hut and leave it UNLOCKED. Thieves will smash your door in if they find it locked.
  18. I used mink oil; the kind you use to waterproof your boots. Smeared some mink oil on several pieces of rags and placed around in different locations inside the boat. (exit holes for steering lines and console etc) Mink eat small mammals. Been 4 winters now. No sign of mice.
  19. Rockauto all the way. Just ordered 2 wheel sensors for my Equinox for half the price the dealer was going to charge me. Genuine Ac Delco sensors. Cost me $22.00 UPS shipped right to my door. Have used Rockauto in the past; no problems; secure sight. As Canuck2fan mentioned; the price you see is the price you pay. The sight even shows pictures of the parts you are ordering.
  20. Nice fish Terry. Really enjoyed the video as well; but I think I would retire that jig (lure)as soon as possible. lol
  21. All the above under "Billy Bob's reply; plus try to purchase in the fall of the year (seasons end) when people have had enough and are ready to move on.(sell)
  22. Sounds like the same problem my buddy had on his motor.Problem was the kill switch. Put an ohm meter across the two wires of the kill switch. With the landyard clip installed---- no continuity----open switch--- not a problem with switch; however move the clip and watch ometer for shorts With landyard clip uninstalled------continuity------closed switch; switch working properly-------no spark at plugs
  23. Might want to check the bilge pump for leaks. Sometimes water gets trapped in the pump and freezes during winter storage and warps pump seals then leaks into boat in summer.
  24. Just wondering how many duck and loon eggs got wasted; as well as silting the bass nests . Awesome anchor sticks!
  25. I have the wine; beans; and veggies but no whitey yet. Nice going. Thanks for the report.
