If I may be so bold as to suggest: Take Joey into the shower with you and get her to do your hair... May as well scrub your back while she is waiting the time you have to leave the conditioner on before rinsing...

I originally paid $250 for a 14 ft aluminum boat and trailer (the Tin of Beans) but by the time the Kawartha Lakes Old Farts Commitee (Renovation Division) (Big Cliff and Nanook) got finished tearing out the seats and transom, removing the trailer hubs and wheels, they handed me a shopping list for a sheet of plywood, new hubs and wheels c|w tires, a wiring harness for the lights it ended up costing me $500... You notice I don't mention a motor...My bro-in-law had one sitting in his basement that he was storing for another bro-in-law(4.5 hp Mercury...no remote tank) so we agreed to go partners... So, in my opinion, you're getting a good deal For $500 BTW...have used it 7 summers now and still haven't stopped the leak...I fashioned a portable bilge pump and got a big bailing plastic bottle so it is good to go !!!

In the olden days (40s & 50s)...it was no problem taking apart the Shakespeare Wonder Reels or Pluegers...but the baitcasters of today with the free spools need professionals servicing them... First time I tried I couldn't get the braking mechanism back in place in my Daiwa...ended up taking it to a local bait and tackle store for repairs... Spinning reels are a bit less complicated...

Mine was a pic taken out on an island up at Lakair where I attended my first official shore lunch... Good times...

A lot of carpers have a petition going on for two rods... I personally can get "skunked" enough fishing with one rod...

Sounds like you got a "Big Cliff" living in your neighborhood...

Terrific report and pics Mike... You're the OFC Carp King in my book...

This thread reminds me of a day a few years ago when my bro-in-law and I were fishing off the little dock beside the bridge at Bradford... I happened to notice that the garbage container had finally been emptied and started to pick up stuff from all around where it was located... Two Oriental lads joined me and before long we had the area looking all spic and span... I don't know if they spoke English or not but they acknowledged my gesture of thanks...so it is not necessarily an ethnic thing to litter... My bro-in-law thought we were nuts...and him being a cop...worried about germs... I haven't died yet...

That bucket of bait looks like the "chicken scratch" we use in our ground bait for carp...LOL
-
I am not famoliar with the Brantford area but if you are near the Grand River system there are lots of carp in some areas...I'm sure there are some OFC carpers that can inform you...Guys ??? Delmonte Summersweet corn works well...No Name is cheaper...

Yep...just tossed one at the dump that the prop caught and tore a big hole in...LOL Gotta remember to use a shorter rope on the new one...

Today I had the pleasure of meeting and fishing with two fine young men from the OFC board...MJL and Victor I received an invite to do an overnighter with MJL, Victor and Wolfville but as I explained to them I'm getting too long in the tooth for doing overnighters anymore ...Damn the luck !...Wolfville had left before I arrived... Instead I took a run down to where they were fishing this morning to join them... I'll leave the fishing results to them to report as all I had was a couple of runs that resulted in hook-pullouts...Gotta stop hitting that "quick release" button... I hope they didn't mind me bending their ears with my fishing exploits from years gone bye...I wasn't nicknamed Beans-Talk-a-Lot at Lakair for nuttin"...LOL

Hopefully Cdn Tire sells them...or steal one off Tybos wagon when he is not looking...

Mine too...Behind my handy-dandy carp wagon...

Welcome to the world of carp fishin'... If you want to peruse some carp tackle... https://newworldcarp.com/osc/ I recently ordered stuff from them and was pleased with the service...and the freebies they tossed in... You might think carp fishing is expensive at first but if you compare it to other types of fishing it isn't really... How much have we invested in the half dozen or more rods and reels, tackle and boats and motors it takes for our other types of fishing?... My local tackle shop did not have any ready-made hair rigs left so I spent a couple of hours tying up a dozen yesterday during the rain... Over two days last week I caught about 130 lbs of carp...2x25lbs and 4x18 to 20 lbs...My arm is still "ouchy"...

All the Best Paul... Are you goin' to get Joey to take you for a ride in your wagon?

Wow!...what a great way to gain brownie points... You're just an old smoothie Gerritt... What a thoughtful thing to do...

Great report and pics Joey... I think with all my weight...momentum would have taken me right over to the camp store... Question:...what is the square box on the handle?...the back-up beeper?

My bro-in-law's reply to Gus Jojo after he tossed his lure right next to our boat... "Would you be as quick to stealing my wife as you are to stealing my fishing spot???" Mind you it was all in fun as my niece's husband had told them to locate us as we had been on the lake for two days and should know where the fish were...they chose not to take our advice and took off for another area...they managed to get enough footage to make a show but where we said produced about fifty bass in the two hours we fished it...any wheres from a couple of fives down to 2 pounders both large and small mouths...haven't had a morning like it since...All C&R'd...

My condolences Albert... They took you fishing and didn't make you swim home...nice kids...
