  1. We are very sorry to hear of your loss Wayne... Moms are so very special it is hard to take their loss but they are forever in our hearts...We know ours are... Maribeth and Beans
  2. Phenix 2 1/2 inch smoke colored salted tube...1/16th or 1/8th Fin-S jig inside... First time I ever used them I caught four 5lb smallies and one 4 pounder...casting out and swimming them back to the boat...I was convinced and now they are my favorite go-to bait... Swim them...drag them...hop them...or even use them under a slip float...bass think they are candy...
  3. My son was here over the long weekend in August and didn/t bring his good rod with him...(figured I had lots)...the one he used had a 2 1/2 inch Phenix smoke colored salted tube on it from last fall...he out did me by catching a 3 lb largemouth with it... I've had the occasion of having to melt a tube to put it back together after too many hits and catches...
  4. A favorite spot for some of the members of the Carp Anglers Group...
  5. Yep...gotta agree with CPH...Kudos to Mark at the Worm Warehouse...and not just because he puts up with listening to the ramblings of this old fart...
  6. I have never dealt with Frank but Natalie/Natasha (?) sure knows her carp equipment and if they don't have what you want on hand they will order it in...unfortunately I discovered New World Carp Tackle through the CAG board and placed an order through them with the $50 my son dropped on me for Father's Day...it took a little longer via the post office but I blamed that on the July 1st holiday falling on a Wednesday this year and I appreciated the couple of freebies they threw in...
  7. All the best Shane and I hope things go well for you... Like I said before...we got a bunch more fish to catch yet...
  8. Too bad you didn't lose the rod with the gum...would've kept you legal...
  9. I think you mean the Crazy Crawler Brian...Good choice !
  10. I don't know if it will help Terry...but it sure as hell can't hurt... Get well soon Shane...There are still lots of fish to catch yet...
  11. Sorry,...I can't agree with this... What about us old guys that just recently have a boat and trailer and only launch in the spring, dock all summer and delaunch in the fall ? Tournament anglers get lots of practice damn near every week launching at various different places but twice a year is hit and miss but we do manage in the long run... BTW...is it not already mandatory to wear an inflateable type PFD ???
  12. Awe shucks Joey... (kicks sand with his big toe )... you only say that 'cause it's true...
  13. My grandson Robert phoned to say the baby finally arrived (two weeks late)... No wonder she was late...too big to find her way out...9 lbs 12 ozs..."C" section... Caydance Cheryl Elaine Mood arrived around 11:30 pm last night...a sister for Ryan James... All are well as far as I know...
  14. Another couple of months from now (early October) that will weight in around 5 lbs plus...
  15. Makes sense to me Daniel...I always use a lighter (12 lb fluoro) to my main line (17 lb mono) when carp fishing...saves losing a $2 to $4 spring or method feeder... I mainly use a rubber bobber stopper with a slip float and once in a while it will catch in the spool if I'm fishining deep but it is worth the aggrevation...great way to use a float while icefishing...
  16. Geeze Cliff...after the problems of the other day I thought you and Sue were so p/o'd that you were selling your ranch...
  17. Couldn't see much from the road where I took the pictures...this pile of rubble was across the road from the pile on the pole... Another shot of the pile on the snapped-off pole You could be right..part of the roof of the marina...
  18. Cliff would have been happy to see this...just before 10:00am today By 10:00 am reinforcements arrived The uprooted tree Just up the road...somebody's roof or shed on top of the snapped-off pole I guess if one goes...the others follow suit I'll let Cliff post the pics of the damages...not pretty I drove by at 12:30 pm and the hydro crews were hard at it...no place to stop for pics but I did manage to ask one hydro guy about when service would be back up..."sometime this afternoon" he sez
  19. Your boat should be OK...I talked with a lady outside the variety store after I left Cliff's and she said other than a few small branches and the hydro out for four hours...no damages at Lunge Haven
  20. Heading down to Lindsay for some lab work...will drop by on my way... Cheers !!!...Mate
  21. I say stay in the greatest country in the world right here... God has already given you the best job in this world...raising that son of yours...too many benefits to list...no amount of cutting meat in a strange land can compete with that... No Kawartha Dairy ice cream cones down there...besides I for one would miss your reports from Ontario...
  22. Any floats I have like those I replace the springs with a small piece of surgical tubing, top and bottom then just run my line through the tubing first then place over the float...I found the springs tended to cut into my line...
  23. The most sickening part I find is the taxes on funerals goes from 5% to 13% There shouldn't be any taxes on funerals in my opinion...How low can they (govs) go ?...
  24. Just added my last daily three votes Brian...Lots of luck...
