  1. YEP ! *BURP*...That Meely sure does put on a spread...Gotta give him credit for sticking to his food plan (diet)...All that great scoff and he had salad with canned tuna and a couple of pieces of the crappie fillets... Thanks to a couple of the others that didn't eat fish I got to bring home a half dozen pieces of crappie for Maribeth which she enjoyed with a romain lettuce salad and raspberry vinaigrette dressing... I ended up having a dozen pre-cooked shrimp and a couple of hard boiled eggs with my cottage cheese and romain lettuce...that'll teach me to not catch any fish...LOL Mind you he can pack away my home cooked Chinese food...
  2. Same with my first crappie...been out twice and no crappie yet... maybe that was my problem...no purpose...now i got a reason to fish them...LOL Get well soon my friend...
  3. Can't pick just one...never caught a sheepshead but I have caught black drum off the pier at Daytona Fla...same family... They are all fun to catch
  4. The two Tonys were catching some...Meely was catching some...peoples in the boats around us were catching some...me?...SKUNKEROONY !!!...Sheeeesh !!! Maybe I've lost me magic touch... I noticed the crappie were biting very light as they hardly moved the float at all...I gave it four hours and the damp and cold was getting to me so I packed it in... Am now changing over to a lighter float for tomorrow...and sharpening my hook...
  5. And what Roy said... BTW...must be nice to have an open-minded wife that lets you fish for strippers...mine don't mind me going after stripers...what do you use for bait...dollar bills...where do you find them...Hooters ???
  6. Can't stop to say ''Hello''..."Goodbye"...I'm Late...I'm Late...I'm Late... Dang!!!...after not being able to sleep half the night...I slept in... Crappies...Here I come...
  7. I can emphasize with you pal...it took 14 months from the time the sawbones said I needed an operation for the bulging disc in my back 'til the deed was done... It is good that fishing taught us patience... Hang in there !
  8. The number one reason for buying a rain suit...fishing in the rain...the crappie don't care if it's wet... Thunderstorms...now that's a different kettle of fish...
  9. I'll be driftfishing the north shore of Pigeon Lake May 12... Hope the crappie are still around...pickerel have been scarce or small lately...
  10. Dang !!!...Has my greatgrandson Ryan James been mucking things up ??? I keep telling you Rene... "Between kids and cats and dogs...you can't have anything nice" !!!
  11. I guess you and I were the only ones that thought it was funny Roy...
  12. Not to worry Brian...it's not the memory that goes first... It's the "stream" !!!
  13. Couchiching Beach Park...Downtown Orillia...where the tour boat docks... The cement wharf near the statue of Champlain can be good... The fishing pier outside of the Harbour Masters Building (No boats allowed)... Great place to take the kids all year round...picnicking, swimming, fishing, playground and boat launching...
  14. I gotta agree with Cliff and Roger... Go and celebrate the times you had with your grandfather and are having with your wife...cherish the memories and recall them whenever you need a quiet moment...
  15. I got this from another site and just had to share... A very attractive young lady was sitting in a fine restaurant one night. Waiting for her date as she was, she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. So, as she bends down in her chair to get the mirror from her purse, she accidentally farts quite loudly just as the waiter walks up. Sitting up straight now, embarrassed and red faced, knowing everyone in the place heard her, turns to the waiter and demands "Stop That!" The waiter looks at her dryly and says "Sure lady, which way was it headed?"
  16. Summer of '04... To tell the truth Jack, if this site is taking a while to upload photos, I just let it run and go to a different site...ie. Bill Dance Outdoors...LOL Like I said, it took 15 minutes to upload and there were only 23 members on board at 12:30 AM... My guess is that Rick was mucking things up making improvements...He likes to play games with us old folks' minds...LOL
  17. seems to be working ok Jack but it took about 15 minutes to upload...very slow. Did you resize your picture before trying to post...anything bigger than 640 x 480 will take even longer?
  18. Geeeeze...good thing I wasn't there with you Cliff...with my added weight we would have sunk for sure...
  19. Being between Scugog and Pigeon it figures Sturgeon should be just as good for crappie... Big Cliff and I figure any small shallow bays on the west or north shores should hold lots of crappies at this time of year as they get more sun...gotta test our theory soon...
  20. My own personal, preffered limit is a dozen perch or crappie and it takes me at least a half to three quarters of an hour to fillet them... I'm not good at it but Crappieperchhunter does a marvelous job of cleaning them...
  21. It's been a while but I think I did... Can't imagin forgetting sumpin' like that...
  22. Open water as far as the eye can see today... 'Bout time to finish readying the "Tin" and sorting some tackle... Eight days 'til opening of the Kawarthas...bring it on !!!
  23. Great job on those "whistling" trout !!! Someone pointed out that maybe the reason I wasn't skunked on this trip was because I wore my hat backwards...hmmmm
  24. The chap that runs the bait and tackle shop on the road (45?) heading east out of Hastings (north side of river...south side of road) would know where the fish sanctuary ends below the dam...
