Streamside as many have suggested, also Raven as well, both have good warranties, if you dont mind rings, the 1563 GLX has power and is a nice rod, cork is thin, to accomidate the rings, so if you have a big mit, that might not be a chioice, also for some stupid reason there is NO hook keeper, to buy new is expensive, and over priced IMO, but on steelhead forms i have seen them for between 300 to 400 depending on condition, but you can also buy a custom Batson XST as Bill mentioned for that price.

Right with you BC, when you have Canadian born citizens taking on middle east names that would raise alarms, and from a post below, if you live in our country, and want the benefits that certain individuals get, certainly not the ones born and raised here, you live by our ways, or you get the hell out The Aussies have it right Its time to take back our country and the freedom we enjoy, that our veterans fought for, and many sacrificed their lives for. When you have leaders telling soldiers not to wear their military uniforms, which they wear proudly, when not working, in their own country because they might be targeted that is Bull crap,

It was only a matter of time I guess,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, TRUCK ME
esoxansteel replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
My company truck a 2014 Chevy Silverado with 22,000 KM on it is Motor Trends recall truck of the year, just received my 8th recall notice and still counting, looks like GM wants the consumer to be the crash test dummy, from brakes not properly installed, to transmission line installed incorrectly, to side air bags not properly installed and might not deploy during side impact. LEMON MOPAR all the way -
There is no MCI chapter in Belleville, the closest is either Gananoque, or Kawartha Lakes which is about the same distance either way, both chapters have alot of knowlege regarding muskies which can be applied to the waters you fish, and Stacy is very knowlegeable and will do his best to put you on fish, it is all about shortening the learning curve, ie books like Musky Hunter, musky forums etc can also do the same. Fishing for Muskies is the closest thing you can do to Hunting without holding a gun, as you are essentially hunting for a top of the line predator, whose density is much less then the other species in the water body you are fishing. Everyone gave some great info, ie fishing logs you will succeed and when you do they will come much easier and more frequently.

Tiger Musky from another Kawartha Lake?
esoxansteel replied to fishnsled's topic in General Discussion
Looks like a tiger for sure, but a pore count would verify it for sure, keeping the lake or river system a secret is stupid on your friends part, and its that mentality that is part of the problem, its no secret Pike are in several of the K Lakes with documented Pike and Hybrids coming for Balsam, Cameron, and Pike coming from Sturgeon, Rice, and the Otonabee River south of Lock 19, and im sure there in others, just not populated enough to show up in catches, -
Simplicity works best, the wooden Victors with the plastic yellow paddle, you can place cotton swab in the bait holder, and lightly bait with peanut butter, the trip must be sensitive, unlike many today, even the wooden victors with the metal bait holder are difficult for mice to set off, hence the free meal

Exactly, they are meat eaters, and any rodenticide is unlikely to work, Warfarin is a first generation rodenticide, developed in the 1950s and used so much since then that many rodents have developed a resisitance, that would be my last choice for a bait, many others out there more effective, ive been an exterminator for over 30 years and havnt used warfarin based products in at least 25 years, you need to get rid of the white grubs, remove the food the voles or moles will move else where

Nice gator, and some very nice Bass, great pics BTW

A real goof of a cop, maybe hes the reason why they say tourism is slow in Nip, and not the lack of fish at all

Great advise Landry,

There are fish around of all species, if the onshore temps are right, ie cold in the 50s and the rains come there are always fish around, although its usually short and sweet, as fish either move through quick, or back out to the lake as flows slow and clear, on the east fish were there last Wednesday, but what was there moved through, and the rest that were close moved back out, as most boats were 3/4 mile off shore by Saturday. Crowds gather quick and people start nosing around piers by late July, which on occasion again if temps are right as they were this year, the occasional Chinook is caught, but its hit and miss, and more miss then hit at that time
-
Cool shots Steve of both the wreck and the big smallies
-
7 and 8 wts packed safely i hope
-
Me too the boys have been flanking the east piers since late july, guys in Yaks have had trouble hooking Chins while casting due to the Yak moving during the hookset and not penetrating, but they are doing better trolling

I partially agree with what you said Mike, but working in a tackle store, as other i know do, most receive a supplier discount, which im sure you do, as you stated most if not all of your rods and reels are shimano, so its in YOUR best interest to say nice things, your right many do mysteriously snap tips when new line ups come out, but i to like the older line ups, when cork was the norm on rods, and not the cheap EVA foam, rod prices should drop, as warranties are reduced, but i doubt that will happen, if they want to produce more stronger rods, i would suggest they manufacture, and assemble in North America, meaning blanks, and all hardware, such as the case when they built there only North American rod the V-Rod, which was assembled in Washington State, then i might see the benefits of paying full pop for a Crucial with a one year warranty, and not something made offshore with cheap labour, where they likely dont know what a spine is, and its importance for guide placement
