  7. just did it as well. hope it really helps Wayne. such Bull to see someone have to go thru something like this.
  8. yep, had a few dings, all i had to do was align the guides, 3 looked twisted and i had my uncle replace the tip, think it got caught on a branch. (that mans a god send with repairing fishing rods) and seeing as how at that point i had gear coming out the yin yang i handed it over to a friend of mine who really badly wanted to get into salmon/trout fishing but didn't have the money to afford a new pole. to this day that GL2 brings in fish.
  9. never fished the lake.. don't know why anyone would want to after hearing how they treat the people there.. hope your fishing goes well and undisturbed if you do go.
  10. the first show should be "surely fishing, with guest host big cliff, walleye fishing the kawarthas"
  11. jimmer i would agree with you if it was actually a test you had to have some intelligence to do. how safe is it to take the test 10-15 times only paying for the one time you pass. gimme a break.. i rent, and i've never done anything foolish on the water, when i do pick up my boat i'll pay then but i'll be damned if im gonna pay for it while i dont own a boat.. common sense is free, its just unfortunate that half the non owners and owners alike lack it severely.
  12. very nice report, and great pics!! lol @ the blonde..
  13. good luck to both of you. i've always enjoyed watching the excitement when you guys hooked into fish.
  14. If you know the area well there is a rather deep hole past the bridge. there is a huge fallen tree in the water. i am assuming the guy fishing was on shore and possibly lost his footing and dropped the rod. the bank is high and very fragile due to erosion. I've seen people, tackle boxes, and rods go into the hole over the years. i usually snag a few lures, rod halves, reels a couple times a year fishing there lol. i think a sign needs to be posted warning people. the undercut in that area is massive and i am waiting for the day that entire chunk of bank just falls off (hopefully no ones on it). will make an awesome little point for fish to line up on. and if that tree stays put the browns will swarm that spot your right tho, if that was my GL2 i would have been doing a swan dive after it. lol i gotta get some scuba gear and take a swim in there one of these days. dont know why more people dont throw on their waders and fish off the shallow island there, it takes no effort to get to and is only knee deep at most up to it.
  15. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
  16. that's just awesome man! kudos to your mom, and you for supporting her in this
  17. dang thats a lucky guy.. lol i remember a few years back i was at the humber just south of the bloor street bridge fishing for bows when i hooked into a GL2 with an islander float reel... SWEET! LOL
  18. seriously tho.. these arguments aren't needed, congratulate the man on his fish and move along. we should be cheering each other on, not putting each other down.
  19. grats jack! your determination finally paid off. as for the eye getting out of your hands hopefully she survived.. they are pretty fragile, i dont like to catch them out of any deeper than 30 fow as they do tend to go belly up cause of their swim bladders. if your that deep again try to bring them up reeeeaaaallll slow for a better chance at survival. regardless tho glad you got one. your hooked on picks now! LOL
