  1. i have seen people drop shot with every form of soft plastic lol. one of the bass guys i know loves to drop shot a long worm into cover and make it dance.. pulls out some good fish.
  2. definitely an early riser. when it comes to river fishing for trout i'll normally be in the water knee deep by 530am @ the latest. on lakes theres nothing like watching the sun break thru.. even if the fishing is bad, as long as my best friend is with me then the bite doesn't matter. we've been fishing together since we've been kids and the entertainment value of it alone is awesome.. even after all these years we always have something new to talk about.
  3. i dont got any kids yet but i do own a hazmat suit lol! anyone need a rental?
  4. anything from a 15-25 gram, long/tall slip float would be good for up to 6 maybe 7 inch minnows. just make sure you have a correct rig set up and location down.. ideally you want to fish either just above or beside a weed bed with a drop off from about 8-15 feet. -rubber stopper above the float, figure out your depth. -good sized split shot weight(s) to bring it down slightly above the swivel. -swivel to leader to hook. this is pretty much a standard set up and one i always use.. i'll even toss it on at night for walleye with a glow stick if i get tired of casting.
  5. thanks for all the input guys. i'll be headin out to bass pro in the morning to pick up the alive ones.
  6. LOL! or do you GULP whiskey and beer?
  7. lol awesome.. looks like bass pro here i come AGAIN! does the spray on attractant have decent penetration on hard baits? i used to use the squeeze based thick viscosity ones but found i was reapplying alot of the time.
  8. i've used it once with some success and im thinking about loading up on some. i fished it vertical in about 20FOW on a jig. what are your opinions if any on it? i know i can check out vids on youtube about it but id rather hear it from this community.
  9. like i said to laszlo in a message im probably gonna jump on the wagon too. used to do it alot, then i broke myrod, but im thinkin about getting back into it again myself.. laszlo your power of suggestion is awesome lol.
  10. been paying attention to news feeds all day, still nothing popping out about them.
  11. that poor dog.. the cat was asking for it, the dog was no where near the baby deer..
  12. thats awesome guys. way to get the daughters into fishing.
  13. little lake out in barrie would suit you well in a small craft like that. dunno how much trolling you'll be able to do as its a pretty shallow and highly vegged lake with only 1 really deep hole in it.
  14. 1" tube jig bro, earthy tone.. he'll be on the hook in a second.
  15. http://www.cp24.com/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20100616/100616_boaters/20100616/?hub=CP24Home just heard about this.. god speed fishermen, god speed.
  16. favorite lure for pike was and just again recently became the banjo minnow. albeit bass will attack it aswell but i try to use the 9" banjo.. keeps most of them at bay and lets the pike get a good run at it.
  17. i really hope so, such a great fish.
  18. or you could put a patch of carpet over the hasp to conceal it and make life good for said foot.. maybe velcro it on. most thieves wont pay attention to things they cant immediately see.
  19. lol roy was being sarcastic. thats where mary came from.
  20. on a float rod or spinning rod i'll almost always use fly's over roe, its just a preference. i used to fly fish in the humber aswell but after 2 seasons it wore off for me lol. they are just nasty on the fly, if you ever wanna be made a fishes witch tackle a shinny on a fly lol.
  21. i like these regs in place. although that wont deter half the people from actually following the slot or the C&K limits.. aww well i suppose those of us that do, help the fishery more than we know. hate seeing someone pull out a huge hen and toss her on the stringer..
  22. welcome to the forums.. it took me a few days to get on this board. i even sent an email to the admin. i think its a great idea, this eliminates spam bots, and randoms who will join the forum only to never make a post.
