  1. lol i clearly am not getting out enough.. i keep going to tackle shops rather than big stores, thanks for the heads up guys, i'll check it all out. hope they have that new 006 minnow.. looks pretty good.
  2. well mikes island (orangville reservoir) holds tons of pike, some trout, and decent bass. it's been a favourite ice fishing spot close to home for me. i've never fly fished the area but i have heard there are some decent fish below mikes island.
  3. got the add number by chance? EDIT: never mind i found it thanks for the heads up.
  4. anyone know a place around the GTA that still sells these? i used to have a set and they were incredible in the nottawasaga and heavy vegged lakes for pike and bass. was wondering if anyone knew where i could get some without having to order in from the states.
  5. thanks brian! im gonna deffinetly rig up for them, hopefully get atleast one or 2 in the midst of all those hammer handles lol.
  6. i was at lebaron earlier there was a mustang survival suit for 60, had more pockets than mine
  7. i should have been a wee bit more specific. i am infact talking about the one in barrie.
  8. deffinetly dont feel bad. thats a crown vic! its just as heavy as some trucks, and the way its sitting there when you hook up to it you would have just cut the ground up from underneath him and then you both woulda needed the marine unit. feel bad for the guy but maybe he should have watched where he was going.
  9. well i know that theres a hole in the lake thats about 20 feet deep surrounded by a weedline, im thinkin thats the only place they could probably be. the pike and bass are everywhere else on the lake and i've ripped, flipped, and shallow trolled every part of that lake, even pulled out a really decent sized pike out of the deep hole in there. anyways, thanks for the responses if i go this weekend i'll be sure to have the digi cam and i'll fill you all in with the progress.
  10. EHG it took me a while to perfect the rip jig on the kawartha lakes too lol. the best way to pick them up is a medium action rod, braided line, and a nice perch colored bucktail. what i do is cast into the weeds, and rip from the 9 to 12 position, when i say rip i mean HARD AND FAST (gf just got excited lol) anyways, tear the weeds apart if you have to they will strike. just keep an eye on your braided line. sometimes you'll lift for the next rip and the fish will be on most of the time however you'll see your line slightly tug when its slack. after a little bit of practice you'll be boating fish instead of swearing at them lol. btw johhny, thats a great lookin walleye, sorry for jackin your thread.
  11. i got them a while back at canadian tire. they are Northern Escape-786 Sportsmans vest. i forgot what i payed.. they may have been on sale at about 40 bucks i think.. this was a few years ago. i've even tested the buoyancy when my buddy "accidentally" hit the pedal on the thruster and i went flying into stoney lake lol.
  12. arrgggg this is exactly why i wanted philly to win lol. aww well go phanuefs go! lol
  13. in the bait shop/rental office i notice pics of some monster walleye. i've fished that lake for a while and i've never managed to hook up with one awkwardly enough.. anyone know if they still exist in there? the numbers? if they do im tempted to hit it this weekend instead of rice with my walleye rigs. lol i miss those hammer handle pike too, those lil guys can be fun when your haulin them out at 30 a day. (all catch and release.)
  14. sounds like you had a good trip. thats awesome! hope he gets a chance to go with you again in oct. for the week before hand make sure he does not leave the house!! LOL
  15. welcome. thats a great lookin brownie. pleased to hear it went back, grats
  16. seems like your covered bro. i use life jackets as seats lol, but i also have an awesome one i picked up a while back that holds alot of my tackle.. looks like a bullet proof fishing vest, i decided to buy 4 cause it covers everyone on board, its not red (its a dark green) and theres pockets everywhere lol. anyways if you ever feel the need to want to wear one somethin like that is awesome. i wear mine out all the time cause more than half my cranks and jigs are in it.
  17. thank you all for the welcome. guess i should say a little about me. im primarily a river guy, trout and salmon being tops for me, any given day in the spring and fall you'll usually find me wading various rivers around the gta or up north. over the last little while tho, i've expanded my fishing to walleye, and pike.
  18. lol i've never intentionally gone musky fishing, normally when im out on a lake im after walleye or some other species, yet more than half the time i hook up with one of those big boys.. buck tail jigs on rice lake are deadly for them.
  19. its people like that, that screw us all up. i dont think the punishment is enough for what they did, those buggers should be forced to help the fishery for the next 5 years as punishment, plus the fines, and the time in jail if they get it (which they probably wont). i cant stand people like this. lol i cant even recall how many times i've nearly beaten tossed people into the water for fishinga specific species out of season or in a sanctuary.. sigh.. some peoples kids..
  20. found this site the other day while cruisin the web doin some research. just thought id say hello to the OFC community. tight lines alex.
