  1. We've had a few very wet seasons in Northern Ontario. No reason for that many guys on the team if they aren't being fully utilized. They are seasonal workers and the number of guys hired changes year to year. This is my understanding.
  2. You are gonna get BLASTED tomorrow! I'll be working on the highway between white river and wawa tomorrow, then off to timmins, then home. At least I won't be at the business end of a Lake S wind!
  3. I left north bay at 930am, arrived in White River at 830pm. Should have been a 7hr drive. Closed hwy's, jacknifed tractor trailers, people doing 20km/hr, tractor trailers all over steep hills. Holy crap this area is getting hammered!!
  4. He has a Polaris 550 two -up that wouldn't turn over today...yikes. Probably ice, I hope. He just showed me his new 1990 Safari, now THAT is a reliable sled. I have the tundra and my brothers Bravo (I think it's LT). The tundra is in great shape, the bravo runs good but is in rough shape. Reminds me of Ricky's car on trailer park boys.
  5. I can imagine it's like playing volleyball with full snow gear haha.
  6. Me and Joey took the machines out for a run today. The tundra and the old bravo ran great! Will post some pics for sure, I keep meaning to do that but it's dark now and I gotta travel this week. grt1, sounds like a long driveway or a very rural road!
  7. Winter-tire time sneaks up quick eh! I got the winters/studs on my wife's car JUST in time. Our dirt roads are the worst I've seen them.
  8. woods has been making shelters for some time. I almost bought one two yeas ago, but the eskimo won out. They were hard to find and not popular at all.
  9. Just wait until we retaliate with a huge air conditioner and give you a week of -40!
  10. Ah your form is all wrong, straighten your back, ease those knees, don't lift your shoulders. But I must admit, your golf attire is impeccable.
  11. It's really coming down just outside of North Bay. We have nearly 1.5 feet on the ground right now. Roads are brutal. Any body else getting dumped on? This won't help in the making of the first few inches of ice. With the very high water this falland all this snow, it's going to be one of those years where extra care will be needed when venturing onto lakes with little to no traffic.
  12. Yep, any snow over a foot and you'll be walking again. Get an old used sled for under $1000
  13. That walleye and the Drum are huge. Nice catches Mike
  14. You should see some of the fee increases they are levying, or proposing to levy. The worst ones are the non-general public ones, the ones that get little to no attention. For example, an MTO encroachment permit (a permit to work with the MTO right of way) is currently $520. It will be $2,080 in two years! They want that deficit paid off! The $2 increase for fishing doesn't bother me, it does a bit more for hunting. It's already difficult to legally harvest a deer/moose/bear especially if you work full time and can't get a lot of time off. If they opened up more deer tags or gave a few more days in riffle season, I'd accept higher fees. Maybe I'm just pissed that I can't seem to find a deer when I know they are everywhere haha. I kind of agree that seniors should pay for licenses, maybe not in full, half or something. A lot of people still work well into retirement, they can income split and generally spend less with age. Demographics are much different now. One truck load of scrap metal, or not eating out one time pays for your year-round fishing license...perspective.
  15. oh ya, I've got a 'password' keeper on my old phone that was quite handy, until that phone failed and had to be replaced. Company just gave me an iPhone and everyone talks about the Apps...the APPS! Well, they want my home address, birthday, mothers maiden name etc etc...ya right. Screw you apple you don't need that info I refuse to play.
  16. That's a good price, I don't mind General products. They are not top tier tires, but you know that. The Goodyear Wrangler Duramax's are also a decent price and are great in the mud. Heads up, mud tires suck in the snow/ice. When I had my Mazda B4000, the Duramax's were great in the mud, but were no better than my Wrangler A/T's in the snow.
  17. D.suzuki? Is this a hoax, kind of like global warming? Either way, great read. I'm sitting jn my stand right now.
  18. I bet they charged you tax on that marketing charge
  19. What did you use (if anything) to keep him around, in the perfect spot, that long?
  20. What flavors are you guys using? The US Mix is ok, but quite harsh.
  21. Nobody dresses better than Jacob's Julian. hahaha. Season 9 was outstanding. Watched it twice already. Tried to vote for you, but I guess I need to be a member of Facebag.
  22. Yep, I saw the LIncoln Continental version... it's huuuuge!
  23. Good job Brian. You are doing well and I've been following your thread I just bought a vapor cigarette today. PIcked up a throat cold and have been thinking about quitting again, so figured why not, it's time to try. So far, I dont' mind it, but I think I'll be embarassed to use it in public; it's bigger than I thought it would be. How do you like that? Do you find it's weird pulling it out in front of people?? I chose the strong tobacco flavor but will try other flavors later. It cost a bit more than a carton of smokes, so if I don't smoke for 1.5 weeks and just use the vapor cig, then I really didn't lose anything. I'm at the 18mg nicotine to start, I'm not a super heavy smoker, but I like strong smokes.
  24. Rough walking terrain! The family looks good in orange
