  1. Just had a 3% direct marketing fees at the days inn in Ottawa. I told Them I would not pay the fee as it's not a tax and it's voluntary. They refused to remove it. The GM had to come out and explained to me that in the fine print I agreed to pay for "... HST and all other applicable fees". I said so, if you add a sunshine fee or random jerk fee, I have choice but to pay it? He said , you had a choice not to book here. Lousy hotel and creepy GM. Pissed me right off. I'll be looking into this further to see if this is indeed and mandatory or if is lying to me. I'll be reporting to the BBB and other agencies if I got screwed.
  2. This report just made me a prolaugher. Favourite part was finding the staff on the ice hahaha
  3. I brought mine to a professional sharpener.... they worked ok, but not nearly as nice as the factory angle.
  4. That's what all the Gov Agencies drive!
  5. 99% of the time, dull or 'off' blades are the problem. It takes very little to ruin that edge. The Swedebore blades are much easier to find in stores I've noticed.
  6. Perfect example of a child left behind. Damn teachers, what did they do to you?
  7. Good stuff Nick! I'm not too far away from doing just that with my little girl.
  8. I buy my blades directly from that number I posted, save in store mark-ups. Give them a call and ask if they have your model of blades
  9. If it's a finbore: 1350 Phillip Murray Avenue, Oshawa, ON L1J 6Z9 (905) 571-3001 Order direct, get a couple replacement sets.
  10. Sober since Jan 1st 2015 and your condecending drinkers already? haha.
  11. Yep, she's good at doing that. Made our own bugspray last year too (although it didn't work super well) ha, fight club! Let's hope she's not plotting anything haha. Looking forward to the nip trip! I'll hook you up.
  12. My friend is a mechanic and takes bentonite (pills?). He says it helps a lot... not sure if it's prescription or not. I'll give you some of my wife's homemade lip balm when we meet up for fishing, it works good on hands too.
  13. I see Sasquatch shaved his cheek and forehead hairs
  14. Damn right that's a big perch!
  15. That doubleheader underwater footage was sweet! Good stuff as always Luc!
  16. My dad may still have an Ontario Pass for $50 less than current price. Let me know if interested and I'll ask him.
  17. What some people will do for pickled pike!
  18. Those herring are super skinny compared to the Nip ones! They actually look like they'd be less fatty. Here's Nick with a couple tall-back Nip ciscoes. And Blair, Brian is correct, they are full of big nasty worms from Nipissing! Gross stuff.
  19. mine was similar to Sinker's. Live band at my house, followed by lots of jamming, a fire burning outside, a few snowmobile rides....in bed by 5. Next day was a write-off!
  20. The great lakes are certainly a catch basin for all kinds of stuff. More proof that we really don't know what we are doing. I vote on a microfibre tax!! kidding, kidding....
  21. Good point.... and the cops love setting up ride programs at dusk on the way back from the 2nd spot.
  22. BurbotFest Sounds like a blast. If it's big Ling we are looking for, then the deep shoals are definitlely the place to go. Wish I had more time this year, I'd actually chum the water with perch guts for us.
  23. Last year certainly wasn't traditional An ATV will be ok on the travelled section, but if there is any significant snow, you won't be able to explore much. We launch at the Callander Government Dock, at the end of Lansdown Street
  24. That's a decent outing! Way to handle the slush boys
