  1. oh man, nice walleyes. You guys sure know how to find them. Local knowledge rocks!
  2. Someone on another board posted that they freeze them whole and clean them as they need.... that's what I'll be doing from now on, unless I'm smelting on a friday or saturday.
  3. Of course the one day they run hard, is the day I have to sleep early for a morning meeting This years smelting season is stressing me out haha.
  4. Cool. Something else to target!
  5. Great read! I had my eyes open for wild grub this weekend near Bancroft but the forest was still mostly in dormancy as well.
  6. We left at 12:30. Saw a few wall worthy smelts as well.
  7. I wonder if we crossed paths yesterday.
  8. Great read and nice shallow water laker!
  9. I'm the next victim. Congrats Mike. Happy trails.
  10. For walleye, bring a small selection of 1/4 oz jig heads (any color) and some 3 to 4 inch twister tails, or Gulp. Bounce them on bottom near rock structure or creek mouths... Deeper during the day, shallower in the morning/dusk. 5-20fow.
  11. Welcome to the fold! Hope to hear some good stories from ya.
  12. And this is why good environmental assessments are important. I won't over-speculate, but sounds like the company didn't think this one through or didn't have proper mitigation methods in place. There should be regulatory eyes there documenting everything. Maybe the MOE or DFO showed up? What a waste of effort/money if all those fish were killed.
  13. "Seems they were in every spot we tried" Those are the best days! Sure sets the bar high, too
  14. Crappies like elephant ears. Very nice!
  15. Ah they just continue to use the oceans as a crapper. How is a boat with that much fuel just abandoned? Who the hell owns it, what is their insurance policy and make them pay for some of the salvage. An empty ship, sure, let 'er sink, but that's a lot of fuel to just dissipate. I think people often mistake the word dissipate with disapear. It doesn't just go away for christ sake. We pay crazy taxes and levies to cover "green" projects and make an effort to enviro friendly, and then in one fell swoop, 300,000 litres of fuel are sent to the air. We are talking out of two holes here. Its a joke and makes me completely hate solar power projects and other apparently meaningless green projects. Let's all evaporate a gallon of gas today... What difference does it make? Oh ya, you'd get fined! But a giant flippin tanker.. Target practice. Christ!
  16. Congrats Mike-star! Are you having a carp roast? Haha
  17. Hoooooge! Man, I miss carping.
  18. Ha, yup, I should be more concerned with the price of food than anything. The current and projected price of fuel would deter me from buying a big boat/motor, however. At least my motor doesn't release toxic fumes... Wait, that's not true either.
  19. The sportspal is very frugal on gas!
  20. They still owe me 50 bucks and I haven't received anything in the mail from my Jan 1st purchase
  21. Shell completly approves of this plan! Actually that's the only place I fuel up so I guess I'm participating in this plan... Although my Suncor stock says otherwise. I'm conflicted.
  22. I heard a report on the cbc that they were going to blow it up and allow the fuel to evaporate! I couldn't believe it
  23. We'd probably send you down the river.
  24. darn right. I must have wrote " fishing events for kids" a dozen times in that survey.
  25. That's the beauty of it, Lawyers already make tons of money.Infact lawyers probably own most of the private lakes in Canada. haha. Dr. Sal, Get your Canadian Bar Status!
