  1. No bass yet in zone 11. Your thinking WAY up north. It's specs and year-round species for us until the long weekend.
  2. Good move by the cops, but if like FNA says, the tickets are getting thrown out...well its a waste of time/money. What I don't get about the bluetooth thing...you still have to answer the phone, dial out, find contact, hang up, turn on/off the earpiece etc etc just to use it. Am I guilty just by touching my phone, for example to dial out? Am I expected to have my earpiece in during my entire drive?? I still have to click the earpiece to answer a call...with my hand I reemed out a guy at a gas station who nearly caused several accidents in front of my a couple weeks ago. Turns out he was half asleep and was essentially a driving zombie. Cell phones are not necessarily the greatest evil here...but they definitly contribute to bad driving.
  3. One of them thar southern polls, is it? Add another weekend and I'll be backlake fishing for walleye.
  4. Try olive the lake lodge. I don't know the owners personnaly but I've heard good things. Lots of pike/ walleye in that lake too.
  5. Cut bait! thanks for the invite.... as it turns out I'm the sucker for trying for inland 'bows again tonight. All I got was a canoe full of rain water. Man those inlanders are starting to piss me off.
  6. Check out this thread Trouty...some good info on the fallfish...what I thought orginially was a horny head chub http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=58168&hl=lesser known&st=0
  7. I caught a couple of them last year, one at 15 inches. Its a fallfish from what I understand. Good job o the catfish. I'll be looking for them later this summer.
  8. I can relate to your canoe mishap. My Dad and I once had to mend a punctured Chestnut Prospector with kerosene-can-wrapped duct tape, sandwich bags and bubble gum. It was an uncomfortable situation at the time, but we were ultimately rewarded with humility and a good story. The spec fishing was great as well! Just another chapter in your book of adventures, eh? I guess a re-think is needed for your canoe-cart; you're not likely to smell melting canoe when your pulling it thanks for sharing.
  9. Ok, THAT'S funny! Hahahaha I'm happy to say I havnt bought fish in a long time. I keep just enough to eat 2 or 3 meals of fish per week.
  10. Good stuff Mike. I'll shadow Beans' statement of "Mmmmmm". We call em' "barbottes".
  11. THAT'S why security is ramped up at that place! I'm gonna look for some morels tonight, but I have no idea if they are in the area I'm looking. If I do find some, I won't eat 'em until I do some due diligence.
  12. Hahaha. Meet me at the base of the London, Ont mountain range and we'll settle this like men.
  13. Congrats to Jamie on 5th place! I'm quite a bit lighter than you and there isn't a chance in hell I'd last for 5k let alone double digits. I barely managed to lose a hockey tournament this weekend haha. You picked the perfect ground to run on..well done!
  14. Haha thanks Jacques! Had my canoe commited a crime, I would not have been able to pick it out of a lineup
  15. Team effort! Great read, I'm the same as you, one fish and I'm happy. Of course more is better, but one is just fine.
  16. Scott from Scottland? I don't know Simon, sounds fishy Awesome! I bet you guys had TONS of fish stories between the two of you!
  17. Do it Chris! Tell them you are looking to spend xx amount of dollars and need the canoe re-sealed and patched. I bet they do that in one or two days unless they are very busy that week. We'll have to go fishing near town this summer.
  18. Nice, your own "no work" garden!
  19. Since that's a Nip measuring tape, looks like the bass' tail is halfway into the slot zone, which puts it at 50 cms or around 20 inches. Either way, I don't need a measurment, all those fish are a great catch by any standard!
  20. Still no fiheads in my area yet. The ground is still holding frost in some spots but, the forest looks ready to burst into growth! Is the ground-snow/frost 100 percent melted in Barrie, yet?
  21. That's a nice looking mod. Easy on the ankles and fairly priced, too. When are you installing that hockey stick spoiler?
  22. I've singed my mustache a few times trying to light a smoke and watching my line at the same time. Definitly a hazard sometimes.
  23. uh oh, I have to watch my backgrounds around you Yup, that's the one. It's a good place to walk the tracks in the summer, especially now that OVR is not running.
