  1. Sure glad I'm not Paul tonight
  2. Local news picked up the story also. Sad deal indeed
  3. Good story Lew. At -2F this morning there is no way I would have drove a convertible to work On another note, just curious, did that beast have power steering?
  4. Yep, and I can remember helping my dad install a state of the art VHF/UHF antena on the roof that was about twelve feet tall, what a nightmare, all that yelling and screaming to communicate while "TUNNING" it in I also remember the neighbor getting the very first color TV in the neighborhood, all the kids lined up for their turn at peek, crazy times for sure
  5. I don't think I could handle 60" of OFC unless it was fish porn I can just about imagine what the Mrs. said
  6. I find your comments interesting, camping I am not surprised but the fishing opportunities kind of surprised me. I've spoken to a few people that fish up your way and over in the Indian Chain lakes region and they have told me the fishing is very good. Lot's of the fishing shows aired in this area showcase fishing in your area and north. I had been thinking of doing some weekend trips up that way to check things out, maybe I should re-think
  7. Kind of like pick up trucks Lew
  8. Thanks for the positive update Wayne. Jen looks great!
  9. I hope Mike is the one that catches him
  10. FOR SURE Ouch, that's going to leave a mark
  11. I thought the soda did that to ya Wayne you and your family have been a pillar of strength. A good example for most of us. Thanks!
  12. I don't do FB so I asked Mrs Whopper to do the deed. Try explaining that ????? You would think after 37 years I wouldn't have too
  13. Lew when I first met you was right after the tragic event and was amazed at how you handled that whole situation, I'm not so sure I could have done the same. It was a awhile later we actually shared a day on the water (caught my first Muskie that day) and talked about the accident that took your son's life and again was amazed how you were able to tell me about it and some of your son's background. He really must have been a special person and to this day I am sorry you had to go through such a loss.
  14. The first report was freaking hilarious Part II nice fishes
  15. That's good news Wayne. Thanks for sharing
  16. Good debate except for the fact that we stepped all over the OP's original topic. Sorry about that Shloim
  17. You may want to ask Irishfield (Wayne), I believe he has been there and posted a report on fishing there. If memory serves me correctly just stay away from the beach next to the runway
  18. Simma down now Your splitting hairs on what a wage is. As far as what deserves a tip is entirely up to you. The way I look at it, if I was happy with the service, felt like I was treated special and learned something from the experience I would tip.
  19. How can you say that a guide that is an owner/operator does not work for wages? They not only work for wages, they have to pay for the boat, bait, equipment, dockage, insurance and any other cost they incur. What's left they pay taxes on and that becomes their wages. Any guide offers a service, if one is happy/unhappy with the service rendered it is up to that individual to tip or not to tip. IMHO if I was happy with the total experience the least I would tip would be 10% and might go as high as 20% EDIT ADD: This same kind of debate comes up about tipping bush pilots.
  20. Tipping a guide is no different than tipping a waiter/waitress.
  21. Well done Mr Parker Hard to believe your children are growing up so fast.
  22. Good report Wayne, glad things went well. Jen is an amazing person, thanks for the update
  23. I'm pulling for ya Wayne!
  24. Well done Solo I've done the Caravans twice, nice rides. First time took off on a regular runway and landed on the water which was a first for me
  25. It's been raining here al day. I can't remember getting this much rain this time of year. It's 55F as I type which is extremely warm and the warmest it's been all day
