  1. manitoubass2 The US is protecting the Canadian consulates in Washington and New York, that and the nature of threats levied is why the White House is talking about it
  2. This may sound harsh but it's a fact. There will always be people looking for hand outs period not matter what the unemployment rate is. It's easy to take advantage of the kindness of others instead of getting off one arse to earn something.
  3. Good Luck to the O'Shea family today
  4. Ogoki Lodge that's it, thanks for the refresher Mike. Again it's a shame something can't be done to preserve these places. Not to take away from your report but a couple of us came the other direction one year from WhiteClay, came up from the inlet where Whitewater dumps in and walked upstream. Just did some scouting to see if we could get a boat up through there and just shore fished, the walleye were plentiful and easy picking. We've taken some big pike at inflow at WhiteClay. I have always heard good things about Whitewater and am glad things worked out for you and the rest of your crew. Thanks again for a very good report.
  5. Awesome. A proud dad and a happy son, can't beat it!
  6. Well done Mike, been waiting for this one for awhile, thanks so much for sharing. Don Elliot and company do a great job. They took over Armstrong Air and Outpost outpost lakes few years back. As we have talked before I had the pleasure of fishing WhiteClay numeriuos times and it sounds like Whitewater if very similar only bigger. I've also read the Beckwith tale and found it very interesting. It's a real shame nothing is being done to to preserve that place and the other camp (can't recall the name at the moment). The whole river system in that area is a fish factory and some of the best scenery one can see. Thanks again for sharing

  14. Norm use the old standard snap traps, their cheap and work well with peanut butter. Every fall I have to set a couple in my shed once the nights get cool and they have worked well for me.

  17. Lot's of parking available. There is only one ramp and it's a good one. Usually there are spare docks when I've been there and I've never had to pay either. Good luck with your dingy

  20. LOL I've done two pelicans down in Florida fishing off a pier, quite interesting to release unharmed
  21. I really don't know why most complain about the full size domestic trucks, I've been driving them for years. I take care of my trucks, cars and boat and do the proper maintenance. I currently own and drive a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT package that has 99500 miles on it and is in perfect condition and have had zero problems. I also have a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS package that has 260,000 miles on it and besides tires, brakes and oil changes the only things that I have issues with it was a fan unit that was replaced at 125K, a set for U joints at 150K, a fuel pump at 175k and just recently a alternator. The 2002 is probably my favorite ride of all time because of where it has taken me with minimal problems and I wouldn't think twice about hooking up my boat and pulling it north for a trip. My work has had me behind the wheels of Fords and Dodges but my personal preference is a Chevy
  22. Glad t hear you had a good time. I know where that picture was taken
