  1. Hi all, Was not going to go today....but my wife wanted walleye for supper as i did not bring any home yesterday (which was quite nice really as sometimes after a long day on the water and on the road tha last thing you wanna do when you get home is clean fish!) She suggested i call Garnet as she had been told by his wife that he was aching to get out. I called and he took about 0.000000001milliseconds to reply ...YES. I had some errands to run and suggested we head out around 3:30pm. Got a nice surprise when i got there...his wife and young son were also there. Michelle is my wife's best friend and their son is Jack's best buddy. Michelle hadn't planned on joining us...its just that Garret had got up late and was not napping. Anyway...we got supper...non stop bite...mostly small ones tonite...but they taste sweet just the same if not better. Michelle and Garret joined Garnet and myself tonite. Garret is quite into his fishing too One of the better fish tonite Everyone got their limit except Garret....but he wasn't trying really Supper was good..... The End.

  4. Hi All, Had a great day on Rainy river with manitoubass2 and his buddy Harvey. I had been threatening to come down there for about 2 years...finally made it...and well worth the trip if you ever get the chance to fish Rainy river...but better hire harvey as your guide...the river is not to be messed with. AFTER A LONG TRIP DOWN WE HIT THE RIVER ALMOST RIGHT AWAY...MISTY MORNING! THE MIST CLEARED IN TIME FOR THE RAPIDS..... AND THE FISHING STARTED AS SOON AS WE POSITIONED WITH THE ANCHOR.....COME ON...WE CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT! HARVEY WAS AN AWESOME GUIDE FOR THE DAY...SEASONED TOURNAMENT ANGLERS IN THE BOAT ALWAYS A PLUS! AND IT WASN'T LONG BEFORE RICK AND MYSELF GOT INTO A FEW TOO, AND THE FISH STARTED TO FLY....LITERALLY THE BITE SLOWED AT THE FIRST RAPIDS SO WE HEADED BACK UPSTREAM TO RICK'S BASECAMP WE FISHED FOR THE REST OF THE AFTERNOON IN FRONT OF THE SMALL CABIN, WITH A FEW BREAKS ON SHORE. WE HAD A SIDE COMPETION FOR THE SMALLEST OF THE DAY...WONT KNOW THE RESULTS UNTIL RICK POSTS HIS PICS WE CALLED IT A DAY AROUND 3PM....AND HARVEY COOKED SOME OF THE FISH WE CAUGHT....DELICIOUS.....AND RICK'S BOYS CAME DOWN TO HANG OUT....GREAT KIDS. All in all a great day out with a great bunch of folks. River fishing takes a bit of getting used to....but I LIKE IT...different. HERE'S SOME VIDEO OF THE DAY...EXPLETIVES BLEEPED...KINDA. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/CCHybHtDOlM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Some really big fish live in this body of water...and it was cool to watch the Sturgeon surfacing every few minutes. Lots of bass in here too, at one point one nearly jumped into the boat! Thanks Rick....thanks Harvey...memorable!
  5. Sorry for your loss Brian...i know exactly how you must be feeling, wonderful tribute video!

  9. November 2008 The Wall Street Journal reports that Citibank © has become the latest recipient of a government bailout - this one to the tune of $300 billion 19th October 2011 Citigroup is paying $285m (£180m) to settle civil fraud charges from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
  10. I'm glad you spotted that too Torco,
  11. Wow....all those fish...and WILD BEER too I too have had the debate about going for specks...i am a specky vurg. Great report JB.
  12. Hi All, A favourite shore fishing spot is really producing this fall. Nothing fancy, jigs and large minnows cast into 18' of water and brought back with a jerk..jerk...twitch twitch...pause (repeat). This outing the fish were doing a late shift and took 20 minutes before biting, but for 1 hour it was again a bite a cast and i was home in time to cook it up. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/JZTPqGw_Bh8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  13. skinny...i was not trying to kick ya when you were down...i am friggin serious when i say keep the boat, life is not a dress rehearsal!
  14. I was not debating government or lobbying either, i was just saying that i did not think your Mcdonalds worker anology was good one, considering that making a financial donation to a communtity was easier for powerful (lobbying/influencing political decisions that could benefit you financially) multi-national corporation with quarterly profits in the $illions than it would be for the employee on minimum wage. I would not think of that employee as selfish/self interested in comparison to 'corporate' greed.
  15. The Tea Party is alive and well in Canada
  16. I'd have to keep the boat so i could put food on the table
  17. I dont think its a good comparison at all.....considering that the hypothetcal person left with the choice of self interest or altruism/charity/community spirit does not have lobbying powers in governments, or post a profit of $1.41 billion, or $1.35 a share, in the second quarter(July this year) , up from $1.23 billion, or $1.13 a share, a year earlier.
  18. AWESOME GEOFF!!!! Nobody who accused all the protesters of being 'hippies' want to comment about the picture posted in geoff's reply?
