LOL...rant over...i also solved the prob by using Firefox.
  6. tough break on the skunk...frustrating when you know they are there...with those temps i dont think my camera would be out either....not for long anyway. Scary for you and your bud going through...hope he had a change of clothes!!! Good report...ty.
  7. Hey Jat, It depends, lol, sorry but its true. One thing is for sure on the lake we were on is that the fish like 'em whichever way we seemed to serve 'em up.. In one case we had 4 lines down with varying baits and did not see anything on screen for half an hour. As soon as my buddy put the crank on the barren bottom started to arch up with big and small fish, the activity started as soon as the jig got 10' above bottom. Its gotta be the shine and rattle...gotta be. The other day it was definitely the ripping action than brought the fish in, suspended or off bottom. You can tell the fish are homimng in on a specific bait because we are fishing 2' feet apart and you can watch as you hover the crank a good 5 or 6 feet above ythe other bait and watch them scream off bottom totally ignoring the other bait well within view and smacking the crank! I feel like i am rambling...hope this helps We dont dress them with anything, although i have not tried to put anything on as yet, have not needed to.
  8. LOL...thanks Leechman....i am doing a "Bob Izumi"....mentioning the product as many times as possible....only difference is he gets paid! I am an evil bugger...it has been said. About time we got a few, hopefully you guys get ice before the spring thaw Gotta love clear ice Thanks Skip, was a ghood 3 hours, and a nice long sled ride in and out, yup a good day. We were meant to meet my wife at my buddies house for a fish supper, my 3 yeear old had a really bad stomach...so we couldn't and we all dined alone...but supper was still good. Hey Mike...i thought you were in the Niagra region...aren't the lakers in there thick? Dont matter anyway where you are Mike...your skills are no match for a lake trout! Whats going on this year Its even been stooooopidly warm here. Thanks Mike....now if only i could dial in the whities like last year....just once!
  9. Hi all, My buddy called and wanted to go fishing, he had a spare sled so off we went. We did not catch many the last time out on this easy access local lake......so we tried a few other spots with no success before moving back to my regular spot. We waited half an hour before the fish started biting. We got nine in all and kept for respectable keepers. Depth was 6o'FOW. Baits varied from jig and minnows, jigging raps and lipless rattlin' cranks, and one falling for my split shot and circle hook dead stick with a large dace minnow at 20'FOW. Trout were right on the bottom to 4' under the ice...again managed to see the trout hit through the hole...awesome! Here's the vids and pics. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6SGjIyK1Bfw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  10. me thinks pike like orange too...QUICK STRIKE RIG?
  11. I LOVE MY TERROVA Auto pilot and co-pilot rock....but i will be adding the I-Pilot this spring...have not heard a bad thing about the I-Pilot, quite the opposite, everyone i know who has it RAVES about it. And with the Terrova you can still use the foot pedal with I-Pilot installed...unlike the powerdrive....powerdrives are a real pain to deploy too....Terrova....EFFORTLESS!
  12. Ive only ever caught one thing on a williams whitefish thingy. A pretty impressive catch though i think. I jigged this guy up live on the ice from 60'FOW!
  13. LOL...wow...wouldn't that suck if my weight gain due to quitting smoking was the tipping point for my Type 2...oooooh the irony. I have started running with our new dog...and our new eliptical trainer is here in 2 weeks. I eat rabbit food all the time cuz i like it anyway....I aint touched a pop or cookie in a week now, i relapsed on 5 Swedish Fish today though Thanks for the encouragement and advice
  14. LOL..."heeeeeere boy"
  15. Thanks Frankie. LOL...you give me way to much credit.....but yeah...thats exactly why i chose that title for my post Good idea...a flower pot...at least its useful for something! Thanks MB....i'll be fine...about time i ate a few more veggies and got my fat arse on the treadmill Very dodgy I dont think i'm gonna fix the sled...too much put into it already....might have to do without this winter....wait till next winter when the truck is paid in full (yay!), LOL...my Doc is excellent...about my test results she says to me with a wry smile " erm buddy...youuooooo failed!" Tells it like it is in a very human way I will definitely take her advice! Thanks Joey.

  21. Wow i never noticed sorry could not resist
  22. ok....not a great couple of days...got skunked out on a lake i was slaying them on mostly last year. Then went out today for an hour....managed to chase the skunk away....then i seized a piston on the way home. I cant even drown my sorrows in jelly beans.....lol...was diagnosed with Type 2 on Friday Guess you count your blessings eh. Cant be too bad having lakes like i do all over...even if ya do skunk....especially when you get to watch 10 or so wolves run across it on a fishless Saturday morning. You meet some very shady characters out there too, anyone guess who this dodgy geeza is? At least my buddy got a pike. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/yFC7Vnu9As8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> So to chase the skunk away i had one hour or so today so took off on the sled. Got one fish and it was time to go. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/vdq2BQMpzic" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> On the way back the sled died.....thank goodness i was close to home when it did. And thank goodness for good neighbours who at the drop of a hat ride back out with you to get the stricken vehicle. So..looks like my fishing just got very local......but without the sled at least i will get more exercise...not a bad thing for us diabetics i hear
  23. Some might say thats what you get for jumping off bridges
