We heard an almighty yelp....then the dog appeared from inside the garage with blood around his mouth....that was a lesson learned the hard way....dont lick metal objects when it is minus -20 C! Dog is fine by the way.

Hi all, hope you all had a wonderful Xmas and have begun the recovery process We had a wonderful Xmas, although i pulled night shifts xmas and boxing day, still managed lots of fun...and even some fishing with family and friends. Jack is now 3 months away from his 3rd birthday....and while last year he kinda got the whole xmas thing...this year he totally got what it was about.....it was the best feeling in the world to see his little face light up opening presents, the excitement in his voice all day, the look of disbelief and joy when he was allowed to eat candy and chocolate at will in large amounts...priceless. Here are some pics from xmas and boxing day............. Hope you enjoyed those....now i have 4 days of work...then 2 days chasing Lakers and Whitefish!!!!! Happy new year to you all, Simon.

LOL...i have to laugh....the pic of Ralphy in the dishwasher reminds me that i keep shutting our new puppy's head in the dishwasher...as soon as i open it...his head is in there...and i'm still not 100% used to having him around. Hi all, got out today for 2 hours. Have been looking forward to this all week, even bought a new rod and reel with some 'Nanofil' which my boy helped me spool up. Fishing was sloooooooooooooooooow....but the snowmachine ride was awesome...perfect 6" of flat snow on the lakes! Got one nice 22" and a 15". Drilled lots of holes, both fish from one hole in 47' FOW. I knew there was a reason i liked 'em! I dont tend to use the bigger style rods.....so far i've not hooked into any 'monster' lakers and rarely fish deeper than 60' for them......i find my walleye set ups with a tube jig does the trick for lakers.

Took Jack to the shack for lunch...fishing sucked...but we had a blast! Shack is set up over 12' of water...muc flat, like a lot of this lake. With the fire going and the shack is very cosy....Jack really likes the shack now....he was a bit scared of it before today...but getting there by snowmachine has enthused him about it. Thanks again for the replies folks. Its actually really nice having the shack on the ice road....has already become a focal point for a couple of my buddies. Jack is still a bit unsure of it, but he seemed a bit more relaxed in it last night when we visited a buddy who called to say he was down there chillin' after work. Still some stuff to do. Got the metal sheeting and some copper pipe to do the 'spacers', trying to figure out how to re-arrange the interior to accomodate one more hole for fishing.....its really a 2 man set up. All in all fun times for sure...i had never even heard of an iceshack let alone an 'Iceroad 5 years ago! Good luck Wayne...report please. I know exactly where you mean, in fact i caught my first ever Pike right there...its actually just off to the right of my Uncles house. But we set up where we are for 'social' reasons,,,,a few people i know in our little circle of wagons. Ahhh...Grimace...you'll be out soon enough. LOL...@ banana belt. Should have an awesome report from the shack on 'Family Day' this year....the whole of the town decends onto the ice road....should be great having a semi permanent residence there! I like the word 'Zambonied' too
