  1. So sad...Please, if you have a FB account put this on your status if you dated, know, work with or are related to (or divorced from) someone who suffers from stupidity. We all need to understand stupidity is real and must be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a stupid person right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity, and sympathy does not help. Sometimes a piece of 2x4 to the back of the head helps, but not a lot. But we can raise awareness! 53% won't re-post this because they don't know how to copy and paste! Thanks Simon
  2. looks kinda boring to me
  3. Wow Rick, that looks like too much fun for one person...glad you shared it with yer offspring! Cool report man....freaky walleye fishin'....love it!
  4. i think they look like little Tarpon
  5. Hey Rob, got mine off ebay...came in around $20 cheaper than Cabelas, but if it goes wrong I will have to go direct to Minnkota. I think if i could have done things over...i might have gone with a 24volt instead of the 12v,sometimes....just sometimes i think the extra power would be good, under powered in gusting winds.
  6. Thats awesome Terry...really cool video. Do you have that Gopro on a string or something...whats the set up?
  7. Great read Ricardo! Where the hell is Harvey? Anyhoo, sounds like a blast...shame i missed it cuz of work. Thanks for the fishy porn......they certainly grow big and plenty full in the river...you is lucky boy being able o cast for those guys from your porch! If you get a small boat at all the next few weeks we will have to meet up for crappy and/or some laker action half way or down your neck of the woods....sound good?
  8. :thumbsup_anim: WOW...those are SLABS!
  9. Welcome Staffman...hope you get out lots this year...i was gonna say break a leg....lol...but with your recent history seemed insensitive to say the least....lol.
  10. Thanks! Yup, bass open all year with a few minor size restrictions. The year before last when the ice went out early we really got into the smallies. This video is from this time of year 2 years ago. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/I_CZO3ssr0Q" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I really am looking forward to some bassin' next week!
  11. I had to challenge a work colleague about leaving all their beer bottles in a spot i saw them at. He denied it point blank to my face....never liked him anyway. What peeeees me off is that its the locals that are doing this here, the same ones who are the first on their ignorant, vigilante soapboxes on many other 'issues' that they claim are detrimental to their quality of life, including the bad behaviour of 'Americans' who visit here. NICE FISH BTW! Not excusing anyone who dumps stuff in the bush but I did have an interesting conversation with a refrigeration technician the other day though. Apparently he is almost the only guy left in Dryden willing to empty the gas from an old fridge so you can get a sticker to take it to the dump. Cost over $100 to do it anyway...and took me a whole afternoon to find this one guy. Now he says they are being asked to re-train again at their own cost or something to allow them to continue to do the work, that's why nobody will do it because its not profitable for them anymore...even at $100 for a couple minutes work!!! He says "you should see how many old fridges are in the bush".
  12. I am gonna put 2 in the boat this morning! Thanks man...unusually early spring though. Hang on...actually given that i have been here 5 years and this has happened twice now...its actually the norm! Makes up for a pretty dismal hardwater season for sure...what with all the skunkypoos and no sled! I am watching the last 1 acre ice floes drifting up the west arm of wabigoon from the computer desk as i write Solo. I was told over 3 weeks ago by some 'know it all' that ALLthe small lakes from here to Kenora along Hwy 17 were open....not so. Some were half open last week. Where we were is a narrows, opens first every year, the main part of Eagle lake at Vermillion Bay and westward is still iced over.. Its windy as hell today....i am saying today is official ice out day on Wabigoon.
  13. congrats on the PB...what a piggy
  14. The good thing is we have a long time in the boat from now to ice to reach that bar! Once we hit Lac Seul in the summer we will do fine. Big Eagle? We were at the South East of Eagle Lake, its a pretty big lakwe if thats what you mean.
  15. Hi all, Loving this early open water and taking full advantage. Headed out for walleye, was fun....seemed they were in every spot we tried. I ended up with a 22.5" male and Cliff got into a very respectable 25" female....both returned to 'get it on...bang a gong". We took a limit each and were off the lake just as it turned real nasty after a fun 5 hour session. Did i mention i love my new I-pilot? Fish all in 15-20 FOW, 4"-6" sucker and dace minnows on long shank chartreuse jig heads doing the most damage. Cliff's big fish of the day coming off a really productive mark i fish in the fall. TODAY'S VIDEO <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/qERmRBQN5eg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Got some nice pike and an OOS musky too. Sorry team 5, forgot my sign
  16. :thumbsup_anim:
  17. Thanks for all the replies guys. We used to...lol. But i'm not minding these 3 month winters with only 2 days at -30C....works for me! LOL...i had to snap a shot of them...they were riding around everywhere all day...too funny. YUP...THE BEST! As soon as he can type i'm sure he'll enjoy it on here. He already likes sitting with me looking at the pictures people post.
  18. I work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern....can you guess what days off i have this week...lol....so glad i took that half day off this week!
  19. i only run a 30hp yamaha. I dont go very far anymore, lucky to have the lake at the bottom of the yard but its still half a 25l tank to my fave walleye spots....adds up in a hurry. I definitely feel the pinch. Looking for sponsors....lol
  20. Hi all, The ice has all but cleared from the front of the house. On sunday/monday/tuesday we have high winds and rain forecast...that will be the end of it. The weather has been great here the last 2 days and evenings have been spent with Jack and mum casting from shore, love the early ice out....NO BUGS BITING! I have been setting up ice out pike rigs with a great big sucker minnow while Jack has been casting his combo rod with a jig and minnow. Jack beat me to it this year landing the first fish from our shore...a respectable 27" pike! He was reeling in and said to mum...."its stuck on something...i need help", mum grabs the rod to realise right away its not stuck but has a fish on! Mum reeled it in but Jack's superior jigging triggered the bite! WTG SON! Roloff is slowly getting braver and venturing deeper into the water...but the water would still be a bit cold on the ole nutsack so i dont blame him for not fully taking the plunge yet! Anyhoo....here is a pic of Jack';s Jack and some iceout/Roloff/random yardfishing pics from yesterday and this evening. WTG JACK!
  21. Not all.....should have made that clearer. As far as i can tell it works with the Terrova and Powerdrive (newer models) and the saltwater Riptide model, i guess becauase the others are cable steer? Anyway...HERE IS MINNKOTA WEBSITE LINK have a look.
  22. hesitated for about .0000000001 seconds....i agree....far too long!
  23. Now there is a feature i might sign up to...mind you there would be some people you would want to block on your list!
  24. . Dont quite know how i feel about this....even if they could hook up my i-pilot to a polarised version i still dont think i would wear them....lol. But a perfect example of everything i hate about pointless 'metrosexual lifestyles'. Anyway....Ciao....we must do lunch sometime....mwhuh....mwhuh(air kiss on each side)
