Alls i know is..is when i experience someone elses poor driving, hand on heart i can say a lot of the time i notice they are using a cell phone. There are no exact figures for % of accidents caused by cell phone usage...however there are statistics that show that 'driver distraction' accounts for around 80% of car crashes. Using your phone is a distraction. Sure...i know...talking is a distraction...listening to music is a distraction....gps devices are a distraction....the list goes on....i just happen to think, from personal experience, that a ban on cell phone use while driving is a good thing. I think the only other thing that bugs me more than someone using a cell while driving is having a dog sitting on the drivers lap, peering over the steering wheel while driving...or filming with a child in a moving boat oooops....dont look at my latest report....lol)

LOL...I used to live(and drive) in London, England.....you know...that tiny little town with a population of 8 million...i have been in traffic that would make the Q.E.W seem like downtown Dryden...lol. I dont think traffic volume has anything to do with the problem...hell..if your gonna use your cell while driving...at a standstill on the Q.E.W is probably the safest place to do it!

Hi All, In a reply to my last report Harrison mentioned I should use clear Drennan floats for crappie. In reply to his comment I mentioned that these were the floats I normally use already but stepped on my last one shore fishing walleye last fall. I also mentioned that i had been using them for years...in particular for pier fishing mackerel and sea bass back in England. That got me thinking..."hey....i have an old sea fishing tackle box!" and low and behold i dug it out of the garage rafters and opened it up to find................. .................a bunch of Drennan floats and 'subfloats'(awesome as inline weightless livebait rig for sea bass) Ok...so here is where my evil selfish plan comes in. Mum is at work....I am looking after Jack. Its been a kinda busy day and I have not had much time to play with jack...he is getting bored and restless. I now have the itch to fish real bad but also feel i need to give the boy some fun too. Then it happened! PURE EVIL GENIUS! Jack loves the boat....mum is taking him swimming from work at 6:30pm in town. Wabigoon River is behind the pool. I asked Jack if he wanted to go for a ride in the boat to see mum for swimming....lol....the plan involved 3 of Jack's favourite things so i knew the answer would be yes. I called mum to tell her to meet us at the dock...she was fine with that......then called my buddy Sven who said he'd join me for an hour in search of crappie. In the end Sven caught the only crappie...another monster 14"er. We caught a ton of perch and even more hammer handles. I think the water temps are still a little low for the spawn as the crappie Sven got came out of 14'FOW in front of the bays they spawn in. At least for once i have managed to find them where they are meant to be pre-spawn...even if in low numbers.....see....sometimes i do pay attention to what people tell me! Surface temps creeping up around 52F. After all the excitement about the slip bobber, most of the fish including the crappie fell to jig/minnow presentations. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/--vdmYHyX98" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> WE WILL RETURN!

Obviously i could care less about your property TJ...cuz the first thing I thought when i saw the first pic was..."good firewood". Nice pike the missus got there

Not sure about the tactic...but i for one am fed up of being cut up/slowed down/ forced to take evasive action because some idiot is yaking on the phone while driving. The amount of times i've caught myself exclaiming "WTH" to myself about someone elses driving to then realise they are talking on the phone is becoming boring!

RIP Lloyd Brevett. This guy was a pioneer of what we know as reggae. Ska music was the theme tune for my generation during the gloomy, recession hit years of Thatcher's Britain. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2N2TJk32_0Y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

W'ell be on to 'em soon enuff amigo....my shift pattern is friggin weekends now though Thanks JB...yeah.....fairly light (10lb braid and 12lb flouro leader) jig was tiny though...as was the minnow! I wouldn't....lol....Drennan Pikers (6gm) is what i usually use, stepped on my last one last fall shore fishing.....have been a fan of those for over 10 years now....got into them in England for sea fishing mackerel....awesome all round float. Even better than spinner bait skirt are the bobber stops i use....Drennan also have their own version too Thanks Brian...the salad was awesome...amazing what you can find in my fridge....lol. Added the strawberries cuz they were on their way out...really worked well with the salty capers and olives....YUM!

Hi all, Had 2 hours to fish today while Jack was napping, well i had 3 but returned an hour early so we could have fish for supper....GOT SOME CRAPPIE.....THEY'RE BAAAAAACK! Only three, but one around 13" and one at 14".....and a little guy. The crappy were 12' to 1' FOW. Love watching a slip bobber dissappear...cool tool for fishing all species and much overlooked in my opinion. Got Bass, Pike, perch and 2 OOS walleye also....good action for a short session. Crappie for supper wasn't too shabby either. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/n48oSPV2Y9k" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
