  1. Now that's great advice!!! Great looking fish there...some real beauties there!!! Congrats.
  2. Great report frozen fire! Just like last spring, this one is pretty windy with temps all over the map. No use risking dumping your canoe in waters like that on those windy days! You got out of the city, relaxed and caught a few fish...still a good weekend in my books!
  3. Looking forward to it...I've pulled everything from panfish to walleye to muskie from close to Goreskis...good luck!
  4. All great choices! One thing I'd always bring is the good ole fashioned hook, bobber and worm. If nothing else is biting then at least get some panfish for a snack.
  5. You can launch a canoe there no problem at all. Not sure what they charge for it...but to launch my boat it costs 10 bucks. Launch is concrete and in good shape. Great protected bay just outside of the marina there. Good luck if you decide to try it.
  6. Was wondering where you guys went!! Great to see you back with a report...the board wasn't the same without you guys! Great pics...great to see you out fishing again.
  7. I have bought and sold quite a few things on Kijiji. Actually, the boat I ended up buying was from Kijiji. List it in multiple areas, including Toronto and I'm sure you'll get lots of inquiries for sure! Wish I had the cash, or I'd seriously think about it...your boat is nice!
  8. Bly was anxious to get out in the boat again after her girls weekend away, so we planned on heading up to Sturgeon Lake to hopefully catch a few walleye and to see Big Cliff and Sue. Sydney and I saw Sue last week, but we hadn't seen Big Cliff in quite a while, so we were looking forward to this trip. We arrived at the lake around 930 in the morning and saw Big Cliff working out in his garage, so we stopped to say hello before hitting the lake. It was good to catch up a little before launching the boat. The winds weren't horrible, but not great either, so finding good drifts to jig for those walleye was a little challenging. We did find some nice weed edges and drop offs to fish, so we were hoping for a little luck. Bly managed a few little ones.... Sydney put her bobber away and wanted to jig like mom and dad...she's had a pretty good feel for it and managed lots of panfish... Another few more pics... I didn't manage any walleye, but a certain large species of the green and long kind ended up on my hook...released boat side quickly without any pictures...can't wait for the season to open for those monsters! Around mid afternoon, Sydney really wanted to see Big Cliff again, so we headed over to his dock. Luckily he was pretty much done his work for the day so we got a chance to sit and talk. Sue came back a little while later, and Sydney headed to the dock to do some more fishing. Bly ended up with a few small keeper sized fish, so we brought them home for a little snack. Anyhow, we'll be headed back to Sturgeon many more times this season...with great fishing and great people on this lake, how can you resist?
  9. Now that's a great day of fishing! Nice pics and fish there...hope dinner tasted great!
  10. AWesome report!!! Great looking trout and it's great the pike were hitting too. Congrats on that PB pike and more importantly finding out you are going to have a little girl...the most exciting news of all. Great pics!
  11. Spiel...looking forward to some more boat tricks this year! Feel like showing us more of your walleye spots this year?? LOL Glen...you'll be missed for sure this year...just wont be the same!
  12. Poor guy!!! Looks like he got through it like a champ though!!
  13. Bly and I will be there from Friday mid afternoon til Monday morning! Reservations made...hope there's room for our little boat there at the docks!
  14. Hey Cliff....it was great talking to you on the phone tonight and hearing most of what you had to say...LOL. Seriously though if that's the quality you're dealing with then I'd be upset as well!!! Looking forward to seeing you and Sue Saturday morning.
  15. Looks like you'll fit right in here! Welcome to the board...looking forward to seeing some of your reports this year.
  16. Hey Joe...if you guys aren't coming up, then where am I supposed to get more hats? Sorry to hear you guys wont be there this year.
  17. Bly and I are confirmed with a camping spot and a boat slip! We'll be there from Friday afternoon until Monday noon! Cant wait to see everyone there.
  18. I was very shocked to hear this...I had no idea he was fighting a condition... His heart and soul on the team back in the early 90s left an impression with me for sure...he wasn't on the Dougie line...but when he was out there, you knew we'd be winning faceoffs...and he wasn't afraid to go into corners. 9 times out or 10, he'd win those board battles... RIP Peter...
  19. Great to see that you two finally got to meet and fish together after all this time! I'd gladly fish with either of you at any time! Even though one lake was a bust, the adventure was still there...and that's part of the whole experience. Great report and pictures...great looking Pike there Jason!
  20. Smart ess...both of you!!! No photos were taken, and alas no PB report coming either. LOL. Mike...great seeing you again and meeting Ryan...we'll get together again some time...and do some fishing...then I'll have the camera and hopefully someone will have a new PB to share!
  21. Now that is one SWEET boat!!! Congrats on the newest member of your family!!!
  22. Great pic!!! My dad used to play golf with Bob before he became a fishing celebrity....LOL
  23. Great bunch of pics! I love seeing the older ones...looks like a full life of fishing for you! Lots of great times and memories with each one I'm sure.
  24. GREAT FISH! The first is always the sweetest!
