  1. Sinker...with a 3 month old and 2 year old it can take 3 days...LOL. It is a smaller zoo...but much more kid friendly I found compared to the Metro Zoo.
  2. Bowmanville Zoo is perfect for you! It's a smaller zoo, but can still take you most of the day to walk through it and see the animal show they have at the Animatheatre (it's actually a really good show they put on). A lot of animals you see in the movies have come from the Bowmanville zoo. They have some animals walking around freely that the kids can touch. They also have some parts where you can actually feed the animals. There are coin operated machines at those exhibits...you get a handful of food. We took our little one there at 3 months up until about age 4 and she loved it each time. It also has a small amusement park. Last time we were there, they didn't have the splash pad...but that's just another reason to go. They have a website... http://www.bowmanvillezoo.com/index.html
  3. Not sure where that lake is.... It may be on this sattelite shot taken yesterday afternoon.... http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/mod...es.143.250m.jpg
  4. Here's a sattelite image shot yesterday at 5pm... http://coastwatch.glerl.noaa.gov/modis/mod...on.143.250m.jpg River looks ok, lake looks pretty frozen still.

  9. Unbelievable Mike! I gotta head to one or two of those spots next year when I'm at the in-laws over the Christmas holidays... I'll be calling you...LOL. Awesome pics...awesome fish...awesome story telling...
  10. With our little one, we started her out with a barbie one at around age 5. It was a spincast reel, which she mastered as far as casting was concerned pretty quickly. (one handed cast). The good thing about those rods is that they are short...they don't tend to hit anyone else in proximity while casting. It's harder to set the hook because of slack in the line, but they do work great with panfish. We got her a 4.5 foot spincast combo last year, which she loves, and has a much easier time setting the hook with it. We'll get her into a spinning reel this year and see how that goes.
  11. At least you broke it on a fish and not by doing something stupid like I've done before!!! Nice fish!
  12. Yep...I have one...year is 1983. Here some pics of mine...runs great too! With 2 in the boat, it pushes my 14 ft aluminum at 32 km/h. These two pics were taken when Big Cliff and I were changing the impeller.

  24. Ok Ok Ok...I didn't get that cake. It was taken off the internet and I had to photoshop "Grandpa" off the bottom of it... But if I could make one like that...I'd try...LOL.
  25. It's a few hours early, but I wanted to be the first to wish my wife and favourite fishing partner a very happy birthday! I know you'd rather be out on the creeks, so hopefully this cake will tie you over until they clear.
