  1. It's that time of year when our friends up north are hitting the ice, and others down south are chomping at the bit!! With the Kawarthas opening this year, more and more people are anxious to get out there...but let's all remember to be safe! Here's a few things to keep in mind.....p>What to do if you fall through the ice....watch this video! It could save your life... What ice thickness is 'safe'? Looking forward to all the ice reports this year...just pray I dont read about a tragedy from a member of this community...or anywhere for that matter.
  2. Great stuff guys! I haven't had a chance to get out much this fall, so I have to live my steelhead adventures thru reports like this one. Congrats on another successful outing!
  3. -50? -50?????? Damn, that's dedication!!! Despite the temps, looked like a great day out there...congrats on the catches!
  4. Sweet!!! Great work on that cribbage board!!! Haven't played in years...used to with my brothers all the time...til they moved out to Alberta...leaving me here...lol.
  5. Wow...some real nice fish there! Congrats on a great fall season this year.
  6. Very sorry to hear this Mo!!
  7. Congrats to the both of you! Looks like an amazing place Lew...paradise compared to the big city for sure. I'm sure you'll both love it up there.
  8. I don't play quite consistently enough to play with the Trans Siberian Orchestra...but thanks!! LOL. I use audacity as well...it's a GREAT free program. I've tried some of the other software packages, but I always go back to audacity. For all the guitar work, I always record the sound that comes through the air from the amplifier, using a condenser microphone and a PA head that can power that mic. From the PA, I go into the computer input. For bass guitar I go straight from the bass into the PA (no amp) and into the computer. If you dont have a PA or a condenser mic, then I guess it's straight into the computer all the time...but thats ok. I find the sound is a bit more "live" the way I do it. PM me the next time you start a project, I'll be glad to help you out a bit with recording technique depending on what you are putting down!
  9. Thank you everyone...just another hobby of mine! Glad you guys are enjoying it! Maybe another less complicated one in the works... PM me your email address again Joey...I will send the mp3 to you! Thanks a lot! Same as Joey...if you want the actual MP3, just PM me your email address...I have it somewhere, but that saves me from digging it up. Thanks Roy. Check your inbox later today for the MP3 Cliff! If you want to share the video, just send them the youtube link...the video itself is almost 30 megabytes....too big to email. Perhaps if I get a little time I will do a little something with that song as well...if people are interested! Glad you and your son liked the arrangement! Very happy to hear your son is inspired by it...it's not all that difficult a song... Beans...Sydney sorta helped!! No doubt Jim....LOL
  10. Thought I'd share a little project I have been working on. It's a version of O Holy Night that I arranged and decided to record. I play all the parts...you'll see acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar, and I used a cheap 100 dollar keyboard to simulate the drums, strings and piano parts. Hope you enjoy!
  11. Filters where? In the browser?
  12. Congrats on your first successful outing!!! MJL and Victor are great people...always willing to help out. I'd share a drift or carp waters with them any day.
  13. Add one to the steelhead category. Heading out in the boat is a weekend thing only...and as much as I love that, teasing steelhead from tribs will always be a thrill to me.
  14. I'd have to say big sturgeon in BC!
  15. For you no...for him...maybe...LOL.
  16. My street backs onto the back field of a public school...our roads are generally plowed and the sidewalks done too pretty quickly. Plows came through yesterday morning after the snow fell
  17. Quick...buy some stocks!!!! Hmmm...but I have a blackberry....and if the new mobile site works well.....LOL.

  20. What? My office computer only has explorer 6.0...guess I wont be seeing the board during the day anymore!!!! Corp IT policy....takes a million signatures and a business case to upgrade anything on those machines...
  21. Hey Scott! You know I would never cry that it's too cold to fish... If it wasn't for work I'd be there with you!
  22. WOW That's all I can say.. WOW!
  23. Sounds like a plan Scott!!! I will be in touch. Yep..we have thought about it
  24. We float for them. Glow sticks on top of the float so you can see it...and use larger than normal stinky slimy roe bags for scent! Bright moon helps too. Paulus...Blys fish were in the report too!!! Snag...just big ole stinky slimy roe bags... Thanks ehg...we've enjoyed catching them over the years...lol.
  25. I use a spinning setup and I have pretty good luck. Yes there are times a pin would be very helpful, but I make do with what I have at the moment.
