  2. I just heard this news too...was one of my favourite characters on MASH.
  3. LOL guys...suuuurrreeee...now that I'm the guy with the boat still in the water you should be nicer to me!! Will, had a great time out there as usual! I still say you got the walleye while muskie fishing because of the negative karma from not handing over the rod on Quinte!!! :rofl2:LOL If the weather gods cooperate we'll be out somewhere again...Quinte or closer to home...we'll see!
  4. Wow!! That's a thick hen! I'm hoping to get out on the tribs soon....seeing all these reports is giving me the itch! Great write up and pics....thanks for taking the time to post the report
  5. Nicely done! I haven't hit the tribs at all this fall! Hoping the weather cooperates in the next few weeks as it looks like I will have some time to get out there! Great pics...great fishing

  11. A quick check at the Better Business Bureau returns this... "When you buy a used vehicle, especially if buying from a private sale, check for liens. A lien usually means that a previous owner still owes money on the car for purchase or repairs. If you buy a car with a lien you may be responsible for the lien.To check for a lien, contact your nearest private registry office. You may need to provide the registry office with the vehicle identification number (VIN)." Service Ontario has the following info on searching for a lien... "How can I register a lien or conduct a lien search? Lien searches may be done over the telephone by calling 416-325-8847 or toll-free in Ontario at 1-800-267-8847 or TTY at 416-325-3408 or 1-800-268-7095. Please have your credit card or PPSR deposit account number ready. Hours of service are Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m." I suppose the negotiated price can include the lien...that is your friend pays the lien and then the remainding cash goes to the person selling the boat. Good luck to your friend!
  12. Glad to hear Lew! I have both bought and sold on kijiji (including a set of 4 winter tires as well) and have never had any issues!
  13. Hey Will....thanks for writing up the report! Was a fantastic weekend for sure...always a great time sharing a boat with you. Glad to hear mom is on the mend as well With a bit of luck we'll be on the water one more time before things freeze up!
  14. Mike....he's turning into quite the angler! Loved the videos...the laughter in his voice makes it all worth while doesn't it?
  15. I hope this doesn't get locked. I know Emil is quite experienced fishing the blue zone as I have enjoyed his reports for years seeing all those salmon and trout! To see a long time member and fisherman get out and try new things is always great to see. Emil, I loved the report and pictures....and your excitement and success ooze in your post I don't consider myself great at any type of fishing, but I love getting out there and trying new things. I have casted for bass in the slop, hunted Muskie, trolled BOQ for walleye, targeted carp, panfished with my little one etc etc etc, but I have to say I absolutely love standing in a river, float fishing for trout. If I had to choose one type of fishing to do its that hands down. Great report Emil!! I wish you the same luck the next time you are out!
  16. Completely 100% agree! I know many here have similar memories of the Leafs, the Gardens, and being a kid watching our heroes on the ice.
  17. Wow!!! Now THAT'S a way to introduce yourself! Some monsters there. Welcome to the board...looking forward to reading more of your reports already!
  18. Your PM inbox is full, so I clicked on "send an email". Hopefully you received it! My sentiments are similar to Gerritt's.
  19. I don't usually get into the "my team is better than your team" thing...but when it comes to being a fan, I am definitely a Leaf fan! Why is this? "Logic" has nothing to do with it. Neither does who the players are on the team. Yes I follow them...yes I watch the games and I want them to do well...but the key reason I'm a Leaf fan is this.... When I was a kid...my dad and I...as a ritual would sit and watch Hockey Night in Canada. We would watch the Leafs play. My dad taught me the rules of the game...I sensed and caught his passion for the sport. It became about sitting with my dad and sharing something. I remember fondly if I was good that week, that I'd was allowed to have a little bit of Coca Cola and some potato chips. I remember cheering wildly when we'd score a goal. I remember when I was very young, I had to go to bed at the end of the first period. Sometimes I was able to watch Peter Puck in the first intermission. On really special occasions I could watch the second period and the cool "Showdown" during that intermission. I remember my dad telling me we were going "shoe shopping" one Saturday night. I was maybe 7 years old. I was disappointed that we weren't going to sit in the family room, with my pop and chips and watch the Leaf game. We drove into the city...and my dad went to talk to someone on the street (a scalper I learned years later). He said he needed to ask directions to the shoe sale. I remember walking through some BIG doors and seeing pictures of hockey players on the walls and thinking "this is a REALLY crowded shoe store and it must be a great sale". We went up these really really long skinny escalators and when we got off and I walked by these strange "doorways" where there were no doors...just empty space. We walked towards one...my hand in my dad's...and walked through the corridor. It opened up into Maple Leaf Gardens. I was stunned. My mouth hung open as I saw the players skating warm up circles. I looked around at the vastness of the Gardens. We took our seats...3rd row greens on the Leaf's home side. I remember seeing Mike Palmateer in net...Darryl Sittler, Lanny McDonald, Ian Turnbull, Borje Salming and Tiger Williams. I remember when Borje Salming took a slap shot from the point...it deflected off a stick and came up as high as we were sitting. I remember asking my dad if we had to leave at the end of the first period for my bed time...and was mildly disappointed that Peter Puck wasn't there. I remember we beat the St Louis Blues 5-1. So why am I a Leaf fan? It's not because of how well they do. It's not because I have delusions of a Stanley Cup. It's not because I think they are better than anyone else. I am a Leaf fan because that's just who I am. It's been ingrained into who I am. As a child growing up it became a part of me. I'd never get into it with a fan of another team...it's not worth my time or energy. It doesn't matter why I am a Leaf fan. I don't have to explain it to everyone who bashes my beloved team...because I know why I'm a fan...and that's good enough for me. Sorry for the long winded post here...LOL
  20. Shouldn't you be writing a fishing report Will??? LOL
  21. WOW!!!! I'm not worthy!!! Fantastic FAT fish there Ben! Incredible collection of muskies there
  22. I have seen that commercial many times as well...and I cant remember a single time where I had a bird's nest from casting a spinning reel... My baitcaster on the other hand....
  23. I'm so sorry to hear this news and my condolences go out to you, your family and all that called him a friend. He fought hard for a long time and he is at rest now, free of his pain and suffering. I lost my dad to cancer a long time ago...and my mother just this past March. I am glad I was there for their peaceful last breath as well. Take care.
  24. Way to go! Some amazing fish and pictures there I wish I could go out more often....until I can I live vicariously through reports like this!!
