  1. I'm seriously thinking of going out Saturday in my boat!!, lol
  2. I have had a few requests and PM's asking if I'd post some Christmas songs I've arranged and performed in the past. The two I have are O Holy Night and Silent Night. O Holy Night starts out acoustic and then slowly builds to an all out "Pink Floyd/Trans Siberian Orchestra" kind of sound. The video shows how I used the keyboard for piano, strings and drums. I use a real bass guitar instead of the keyboards. My acoustic guitar is a Fender semi acoustic and my electric is an old Ibanez Roadstar. Both guitars are well over 20 years old and have been used quite extensively! <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqvfFa8znEA?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqvfFa8znEA?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqvfFa8znEA?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Silent Night is an all acoustic version...with some bass guitar added at the end for a richer...more full sound. There are 3 acoustic guitar parts...I add one layer each time a new verse starts. <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N347vJNWx3M?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N347vJNWx3M?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N347vJNWx3M?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object> Both songs were recorded with an audio editing program called Audacity. Each track is recorded separately in the process and then mixed afterwards. I am thinking of doing another instrumental this year...any suggestions??? Hope you enjoy! Thanks for watching! Edited to add: If anyone would like mp3 versions, PM me with your email address and I'll be happy to send them to you. Let me know which ones you'd like...including Rockin Around the Christmas Tree.
  3. Thank you everyone!! Cliff...I asked her about the video...she said "I'll think about it!". That's more than I got! LOL
  4. Thanks everyone! She listened to it this morning and said "I still can't believe that's just you and me doing all that!". I'm sure we'll do more recordings in the future
  5. I knew you had lost your son Lew, but didn't know how. I can hear the love and pride you have for him in your words. Thank you for sharing...
  6. Wow....what a horrible thing to happen! I'm glad peanut is going to be fine and it sounds like restitution will be made....hoping for a speedy recovery!
  7. I wanted to share a song my daughter and I recorded last week. The vocals are done by my 9 year old and I recorded the guitar, bass guitar, drums (from a keyboard) and the other sounds. She doesn't think her voice sounds very good, but I beg to differ! I'm very proud of her...she's worked hard on her singing. She allowed me to post the song, but refused to let me shoot a video of her singing! LOL I didn't arrange this song...it's actually Miley Cyrus' version of the song... Hope you enjoy! <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDADR16U4I0?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDADR16U4I0?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDADR16U4I0?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

  9. Most do my trips to Quinte are like that!!, but you can't catch fish from your living room. Good on you for getting out there!
  10. If I didn't have other plans, I'd be going out...I'd just bring ice melter for the ramp.
  11. Talent like this blows me away. You capture not just "images" but illicit emotion with your paintings. I'm a fan for sure!
  12. Wow! Fantastic work yet again! Love it!
  13. Was wondering what you used. I use Audacity. Any real software and my pc can't handle it. Too many audio lag and synch issues, but I can't justify a new desktop. Lol
  14. Blaque. The only thing I still do on my desktop is music recording and video editing!
  15. Loved it!!! I'll be dabbling in some recordings as well shortly!
  16. Yep...heard on 680 news that the news conference at 930 this morning is to announce that Bell and Rogers are buying the majority stake in MLSE.

  22. Modq is where a post by a watched user isn't posted right away. A 'mod'erator has to approve it before its visible on the forum. It sits in a line or queue to be approved is a way to look at it...that a mod approves.....hence modq
  23. I'm not sure if my posts have been edited. Then again, I don't remember what I had for breakfast this morning....
  24. I have the same issue in my car, but every time I check the coolant, it's topped up.....
  25. I remember an Ontario commercial on drinking and driving. A little girl's mom was in an accident...drunk driver hit her. She got to the hospital just as they pulled the sheet over her head. The next thing you hear is the little girl wanting to see her mommy. Some mumbling as they tell her. The scream through tears of "I want my mommy" still sends chills through me at the thought of it. If I'm driving, I don't even have one drink anymore because of that. Thanks for posting that, as hard as it was to watch...it's a reminder to be smart.
