  2. Never heard of this but can we see the picture of last years winner so I can get an idea of what your looking for lol
  3. After getting back from the boxing day madness, I talked my dad into launching me at sherman's to fish at around noonish. Had my first fish hit within minutes of setting the line… a nice long 8 pound jack. Continued trolling for 20 minutes before the board dropped back again. A great fight and a struggle to get her netted… she was finally mine. A very nice 10.5 hawg. Continued trolling for 15 minutes and nothing… reeled up and headed back where I started the troll. My board hit a chunk of floating ice and kind of stalled on top of it for a no more then 2 seconds before getting back up to speed it … just as it got up to speed it pulled underwater … grabbed the rod and just dead weight and 2 violent headshakes and she was off ughhhhh 2 for 3 within the first hour… Continued trolling … 30 minutes later the board goes off again … another struggle with the net job alone and surprisingly I got her netted lol a nice 6 pounder. Finished the troll and ran back up to start another troll …nothing for a good 45 minutes and then the board went off …an awesome fight and staying down the whole way to the boat, the beauty finally surfaced. A beauty hawg weighing in at a little over 10 pounds. Did another pass and nothing... called it quits at 4 pm…final score 4 for 5, a 6, 8, 10, and a 10.5 … Sorry for the crappy pictures, I took em on a timer on the camera placed on one of the boat seats lol. As much as I always enjoy having company. It sure was relaxing getting out alone for a quick fish. I hope everyone had a great christmas! Aadil
  4. I don't know if they are still operating but if you need any info on guides on quinte your more then welcome to PM me. Aadil
  5. Thanks guys She sure was a nice one! As for holding her, I'd rather hold her and show her and me in the picture then 8273628 acres of useless land water in the background that isn't relevant for the photo. Thanks again! Aadil
  6. Chuck and I headed out for a last kick at the can before the freeze up today. We headed out at noon from the Deseronto boat launch. We had been trolling for 2 hours into the wind up Long Reach and not a sniff on any of the lines. We turned to make our trek back midway from Sherman's Point and Huffs towards Deseronto and within 5 minutes we had our first fish on … It looked like a big fish the way it was fighting and pulling the board almost underwater. It soon surfaced and we had out first fish in the boat. A nice 11.5 pound Hawg off a Purple TD-11 We continued trolling for 2 more hours without a sniff until we were about 15 minutes from calling it a day. The board with goes back … FISH ON! It gave me an awesome fight and stayed down the whole time. I couldn't budge it at all … after a long great fight she finally surfaced boat side and she was ours. A nice 12.5 pound Hawg! Both Hawgs were successfully released unharmed and with that note we ended our day with 2 monsters in 4 hours. It was an awesome time fishing with great friends this fall season and I can't wait to hit the hardwater this season with each and every one of em!!! Aadil
  7. I highly disagree with many people saying the dog should be put down. But I'll keep my rant to myself. Solopaddler, I agree with John. That guy would definately wake up in the hospital if he every touched my Hucky like that! I hope Peanut has a quick and speedy recovery.
  8. I agree with Terry 100% ... I use my x67c on my boat and all ice fishing season .. I've NEVER had the sonar delay on me... When I jig, my jig on the screen moves just as fast. I've used and abused my x67c yet it still performs like the day I bought it. I'm a firm believer that sonars work just as good as people claim there flashers work. I've used vexilars, marcums and hummingbirds flashers also and still go back to my x67c sonar .. It's more of what your confident with using.. I personally also like how I can see the history on mine for a bit and can change up my jigging technique right away if the fish on the screen doesn't react a certain way ... I'm thinking of getting the new elite-5 ice machine this year though ... If not I'll gladly use my x67c in a heartbeat Aadil
  9. I had plans of fishing with my Uncle Tahir from Mississauga for the day on his first fall trip with me. He said he would be here by noon but I was too keen on getting out. I headed out from Sherman's Launch while my dad was great enough to launch me out before he headed out for his errands. Now 10:45ish am I headed straight to thompson's point to troll with the wind towards sherman's launch hopeing to make it in time for my uncle to make it to the launch. Directly infront of the launch, I see my board go back. FISH ON! It had been awhile since I've had to land a fish alone but she was finally in the boat after a nice fight. In the livewell she went for a quick picture when my dad came to drop off my uncle at noon about 15 minutes later. She came off a Rapala TD-11 in Purpledescent 80 ft behind the board. She weighed in at around 8.5 pounds on the scale. After picking up my Uncle we headed off to Long Reach. We started trolling and 15 minutes into trolling the left board goes back. FISH ON! Grabbed the rod and handed it to my Uncle. After a great fight, in the boat she came. a healthy 9 pounder. His new PB. She also came off a Rapala TD-11 in Purpledescent 75 ft behind the board. We continued trolling all the way down the reach, came back to the same spot and trolled it again. Nothing. Went back to infront of Sherman's Launch for a final troll. Nothing. We ended the day around 3pm. 2 fish 8-9 pounds in 4 hours. Not as hot action as the past couple of weeks but for the time spent out. I'll take it anyday! I think this was probably the last outting for me. Who knows Aadil
  10. 30km/h in a 14footer on quinte .. I would not take it out there if your travelling from hamilton to face dissappointments. You could take cover in lee's and calmer water away from the wind but its better to hold off for a better day. Just my opinion. Aadil
  11. wow you must be a superhuman I got 0.177
  12. Haha Sorry I gotta make my post count .. as for the boat going away his was an internal engine so it had to go early, as for ours well I have Exams at school for the next two weeks so it all depends on school and/or if my dad winterizes it Ben, I'm Sorry I corrected the problem Aadil
  13. I thought I'd post a quick modified report from Gene's report of this Sunday. I headed out this Sunday in the Grand Slam (Al's Big Boat) with Chuck, Gene, Jason and Al! Couldn't ask for a better crew! We fished from 8am-2pm. We had a great time along with some great hawg hunting. we went 13 for 15. 3 were over 11 lbs and the rest over 9 to 10 lbs with 3 smaller fish from the 4-6 pound range! Here are a bunch of pics we took. So here's the Lineup, Grumpy Grizzly aka Chuck Me, The Wizard aka Jason, Al. And Gene, The Grizz Grizz The Wizard This fish was almost as long as the Wizard is high, Another respectable Fish Me, Al with some goods one's, And last but not least Gene, Here's some miscellaneous picks from a fantastic day! All of us definately ended the season with a nice BANG! Aadil
