  1. Thanks folks... just noted myself that I started this thread 3 years ago this week and at the time figured we might be in and out of this within the year. No wonder I feel like I'm 95 years old 3+ years later, but Jen has mystified and baffled numerous Doctors, Surgeons and Oncologists with that fact that she's still going like the Eveready bunny. They'd given up a few times, through what now amounts to at least 13 tumours, but she's never said "uncle" so they had no right to quit on her. A good thing.. considering her original Oncologist came bounding down the 11th floor hall at noon today so happy to present her with her CT results. He had given up on her back in March.... but is fully back in the game again now with her latest response to chemotherapy and I think a big factor (in his attitude and her survival) is the fact that she's still smiling even after having her skull opened up twice.
  2. Thanks folks... we've actually learned from the radiologists report this morning that she originally had 8 lung spots.. not just 2. Dealing with 4 on her right and 4 on her left. Only the 2 on her left lung were measurable and why we were only told about those... and those two are now, after 2 full week sessions of VP16, only 25% of their original size. The other 6 "dots" are either gone or stable / unchanged.
  3. This mornings chest CT shows that her lung lesions are improving!!! .. so she's in for another full week of chemo. Still hasn't got her Brain/Neck MRI... but it WILL be done before she starts her next week of chemo on November 18th. Hopefully it shows nothing to bring us back down......there was a loud exhale this morning, by MANY people.
  4. 7 hours.. must drive like Gramma ! ..and as for Bernie.. they don't come much better than that, if they do at all !
  5. Sorry.. just trying to add a bit of humour... notice how the gun registry went out.. and the boat registery went exclusive to NB at the same time..
  6. Registration has to be done directly to New Brunswick.. need to keep them in jobs down there... http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/marinesafety/debs-obs-paperwork-paperwork_boat_licence-3211.htm#a4
  7. I'm at a loss Rob... if you need anything from our end just let me know and I'll be there. I'll even let you use your old tackle if you need a trip out to vent... hoping that found a smile.
  8. The Province, Counties, Townships, City and towns have no constitution capacity to assess any planning power over an aerodrome, as they fall totally under federal jurisdiction. Now if he had of landed there first.. that bay instantly became an aerodrome automatically and had he then built it (without the living quarters) he would have been scott free. The fact he was dumb enough to apply for a boat house permit first... well.. he's dumb. That said.. if they can't prove it actually causes any environmental damage and there are boat houses on either side of him to prove on his part it doesn't cause damage they can't make him tear it down. If it fits the airplane in the picture.... it's a hangar.. as it means mine will fit inside! You do not need a building permit to build a hangar in Canada... and if you want a big garage in your back rural yard just get the Toronto Helicopter training school to land in your back yard first..... before pouring the footings.
  9. 48 hours without the internet.. almost had to get out the underwriter just to keep my typing speed in tact!

  10. Why I still have the tractor and a chain handy at all times. Very easy when the snow is wet that the blade skips over and drops behind the pile.. and amazingly you can't lift the blade that high to try and back out!
  11. Depends on how long your laneway is SImon.. I always blew ours.. 1300 feet long x 16 wide and 50 feet wide from house to hangar. Anything more than 4" of light snow, equals low gear and it was 4 hours sitting twisted around backwards on the Zetor with a 7' blower. I put a 7' blade on my old '98 GMC about 7 years ago. I now plow the same laneway in 45 minutes to an hour with heat on, radio playin tunes and no unclogging the chute!
  12. Jennifer being interviewed on 104.1 the Dock at 8:30 or so this morning for the Hope Lives Here book release.

    1. Tdel

      Tdel

      Jenn is on right now.

  13. Now you know why Danc said one thread.. and one thread only Rob!
  14. You know he gave the fish to his buddy in the cabin next door so they wouldn't starve.. correct...
  15. I'm glad I just drive 1.5 km down the road and ask Dan or John. at the Goodyear dealer that I've been using for 28 years, what's the best deal you can make me installed...then I say wanna try that again... and yah that's better! They then drive me home, so I can get back to work, and a few hours later they deliver my car or truck when they're done! I can't believe I could save enough scratch to make a trip state side or delivery to the door of tires worth the effort unless I lived 3 houses up from the Peace Bridge.
  16. I smile every time I see a yellow and black turbine Beaver... the best asset the Ontario Government ever bought.. for around $40,000 each in the late 70's. They are currently worth about 1.7 million each. They're gonna burn kerosene somewhere, so it may as well be the north. The airplane(s) is(are) on standby for back lake creel studies, as well as many other uses all season anyhow (including hauling firefighters), so they may as well use it to catch a few that are eating their possession limit at lunch and another in the evening from time to time. Being checked, politely and properly (not ambushed like Terry was), really isn't a big deal is it...when it's all about protecting our resource and you have nothing to hide because you are following the regulations. Now if they're only interested in finding a beer can in your boat... when you are on a back lake.. . then their agenda is seriously flawed.
  17. Canuck2fan has it figured out !
  18. 98% of the time I pull my 2150 Baron out in 2 wheel drive. It's that 2% of the time that I don't... that makes the difference between it all going in the lake and pulling the boat out!
  19. I let Lloyd put my worms on now !
  20. Thanks guys! Thanksgiving went well... even got her shooting pool. Suggested she sit on her walker seat to do so.. but not happening!
  21. Not a big deal John... Roy won't take up too much room between you and Barb!
  22. Right side tires Bruce??? if so, stop hugging the curb!
  23. The Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is $28.95 US for admittance and worth EVERY dime... can only hope that this is in the same level of interest and puts Toronto on the map in a similar fashion. I first went to the Shedd in 1988 and have been back 4 times since to spend money in Chicago. Hopefully many do the same in Toronto.
