  1. Okay.. they don't paint inside the rails.. and on welds.. and spring attach bolts and such. Why I suggest Fluid film to at least creep in where the paint didn't cover. Look UNDER your vehicle... I bet it ain't pretty unless you oil it regularily.
  2. a bunch of shower curtain hooks work the best for the attach and sliding on the cord Rog
  3. YES Roger.... and a set of quick retrieves makes usage slick. I'll look for some pics of my install.
  4. As Roy said. Use it for the summer and then spray the crap out of it with Fluid Film in the fall. Car wash the thing before first launch and repeat year after year. Will buy you a bit of time.. but galvanized is the real avenue and even there they don't last for ever.
  5. I've pointed out one to him Steve a couple of times now that hasn't even been listed.... 30K give or take for a 2005 x 2150 baron.. 225 Yamaha. 9.9 kicker.. doesn't leak a drop.. comes with a dual axle trailer that has never seen the road. It gets used to store the boat on site at the marina it's at.. nothing else. If he wants new and the "assumed" perfect boat that goes with that then we can't sway him. I can tell you though.. if I had the chance to buy a 2150 Baron second hand, I'd be buying it from me after I worked out all the Bull in deficiencies that Lund put into their prepackage work on my 2007.... let alone setting it up for tracks and everything else. The one I keep plugging has been flawless since new.. even has a 2 year old lower unit on the big Yamaha.
  6. Legs tied around through the back doors Nick...
  7. Sometimes there's just no other option !!
  8. God Speed to the 5 in Red Lake. The 29 year old male survivor is a friend of our youngest daughter.

the whole community is in shock, we certainly feel the pain up here as the local folks that died were active in the community .

That is the third mishap that I have heard in that area this year. Flew in and out of there in June. Feel sorry for the ones that perished?

Any unfortunate night grt... not sure what happened on final, but it went to hell in a handbasket quickly. The 29 year old is a good lad.. called for help and at the same time pulled a lady to safety.

  9. I'm sure the CO would as he pulled up... .. great fish none the less... this place could use a bit of horsing around and laughs!
  10. Yah but then they fart soap bubbles and make your boat smell sparkly clean !

  12. Spies everywhere Chris....
  13. I've never had luck in cars with Moth Balls (mouse crap right in the pan holding them)... the only thing that I've seen any luck with are real brand name Bounce drier sheets.
  14. Indeed Terry.. so easy in the current "me world" to forget how we got here and continue to go about our daily lives, for the most part, unquestioned. My brother in the mid 90's. Thought I had the group picture of my father in boot camp, 1944, but I think I gave it to my brother to add to his military collection.
  15. I learned to tell time a lot better after that! Hopefully they find the main wreckage.. if indeed that is what is washing up on shore and can return him to his family.
  16. My father in law still has his hunting hat... with a 303 hole though it.. shot by a guy in his own party in 1984 while he was taking a piss behind a bush.
  17. The basic statistic for a pilot, even high time, that has no true IFR training and has flown VFR (Visual horizon reference) all their life is about 3 minutes to enter a spiral dive or spin after flying into IFR conditions. Can't imagine getting into this scenario in total darkness.. in snow and sleet to boot as happened last night. Mind you giving that some thought I actually found myself in a similar situation in Dec 1998 flying my UTVA 66 home from Collingwood (after doing only 4 circuits there after it's purchase), when I watched the street lights come on from the West end of Wasaga beach to the East end. After Wasaga I was into total darkness and then it started to snow. If not for the fact I clicked my push to talk 6 times while over the Tiny Marsh, to turn on the runway lights at Midland airport, I would have ended up flying up the coast and ended up at Christian Island instead of turning and heading for home in Penetang. After the lights of Midland were behind me, the only reference from there was a light on the farm house a concession road over from our aerodrome and my quick thinking wife (that thought she saw a car in the air and then realized it was me coming home) parked her truck with lights perpendicular to mid field at home to give me a reference or I would have probably spun in short.
  18. Instrument Flight Rules... IE" no reference to the ground... and totally flying via your panel instruments in an aircraft that IMHO is not suitable for true IFR work and especially not during a snow and sleet storm. Like I said, I've been there (in rain and fog) and lucky (or skilled) enough to come out the other side. Snow and sleet that may have hampered the lift capabilities of the wings would be a whole nother ball game.
  19. Unfortunate, but as I sadly expected and my heart goes out to any family he had. Flight path gave him Midland airport less than 3 miles off track to the East.. although "gotta get there" (Owen Sound) was an obvious situation right from take off into known bad weather conditions. No I'm not holier than thou... I've been there more than once (flying into unpredicted IFR) and still have the white knuckles... but with a better outcome.
  20. There still is... in the "follow the leader" thread, not this one.
  21. My 102C has a flasher mode... other than to turn it on and wonder why or how people use it.. it sees no use. Graph all the way for me..
  22. Yah but they won't get too concerned about $10 turning into $40 Connie!
  23. Hard to believe none of these people are being charged with Careless Use of a Firearm...
  24. We go day to day Bruce... can't plan further out than that anyhow! Keeping myself busy building Leah's ensuite bathroom, that's been nothing but a storage closet for 17+ years. My mind's not 100% into building someone an airplane right now.. so I'm putting it to use "on the ground". Cliff, I hear you and thanks.... that's coming from someone that is 20+ years past an L4 / L5 degenerative disc diagnosis with spina bifida to boot. I just keep working away 'til I can't stand up and complain about nothing anymore .... other than if I'm not getting enough! And Rob... you're right.. there is a never ending need and use for blood donations, so if you can.. do so!
