It's true. They buy their time. All money made is through sponsorships. So anyone can have a show if they want to. The constant grinding for sponsorships would be tiring though. They need them to make money though and as a result oversell the products. I still watch WFN too much, much to my wife's chagrin. I want to fish everyday and it helps me with withdrawal symptoms.

I should have just gone. Darn again.

Thanks guys. Paul castellano just posted some pics. Clarity is workable. Big Ice chunks in river tonight - may get worse or may clear out.

Sorry to beat a dead horse. Still holding out hope that the niagara below the outflows is not blown out. Did anyone fish it today???? Thanks Landry

If I was a manufacturer I would want product placement and subtle promos. I would not want my product shared by a product checkout girl basically. That is exactly what some fishing show guys are. It's so blatant and over the top that it's hard to believe a new product is truly something I need. It actually makes me more cynical and suspicious.

I think careful product placement and stealth advertising is more effective than talking about the product - especially to the level he does. He's a really good guy and a good angler.

Darn. Thanks Bill. I really want to get out but who doesn't after this winter.

I really want to take my buddy who is turning 40 fishing tomorrow. However, the niagara looks a little dirty right now - like 1-2' visibility:( I was wondering if fishing the shoreline in my boat near Dalhousie or Jordan harbour would be a good option and I don't know if there is an ice free launch near Jordan harbour. Any advice or ideas would be great appreciated. Thanks Landry

Fish kill. Finally a report that gets it right

I just went. Pics r below. I fish the lake weekly and love it. I am concerned but at this point it is too early to tell how bad it really is as there r very few open water areas. The spot by the restaurant where CTV was, has very little deep water so maybe fish were more vulnerable there???? I am cautiously optimistic. I only saw two bass in that pile, quite a few pike and tons of panfish and a few nice perch. The lake has a massive population of stunted panfish so if the bass don't get hit too hard, nature could balance things out and it could be a good thing in the long term. We will see this spring. Keep in mind that the Lake Association would love nothing more than to see public usage reduced on the lake so the statement regarding "avoiding fishing until later in the season" may be genuine or a self serving statement. -

I have a great frabill net for sale in classifieds that could have an extension added to it. Landry -
My wife had it real bad after childbirth. She had a full recovery but we were very worries it would not go away.

I guess the best bait is sometimes the one that u have the most confidence in eh Cliff.

I love fin-s minnows in Arkansas shad color for early season perching. However, the gulp minnows out fish the fin-s minnows badly for crappie on every lake I fish including Cliff's lake. I usually clip a bit off the front end to downsize them a bit. On a side note, I am thinking of exploring my childhood stomping grounds for crappie this spring in hopes of finding a peaceful place to crappie fish. Anyone interested in a multi boat scouting mission in may up there. Lots of good looking bays in the South Bay area. Landry

I am a liberal but McGuinty and Wynne are obviously lying. Charges should laid. Problem is I despise Hudack even more. Actually I don't trust any politician period. They all disgust me.

I really liked your report. Looks like a great time.

I always buy quality bait casters and am a shimano guy. However, recently I have been buying $40 and cheaper spinning reels because I can't justify the higher prices on a spinning reel. We will see how this works out for me. I figure if I get two tears out of a $30 reel then it makes sense. Today's $30 reels feel and run like yesterday's $100 reels. But how long will they last?

Most sellers are good people for sure. However, when I sold my boats I made sure to have testing already done and printed from a marine mechanic and I insisted on a water test all three times. My reputation means more to me than money. Having said that I would not want my boat to be trailered for another test a couple hundred miles either. That would be silly. I would just encourage them to contact the mechanic/marina that already did the engine assessment. Selling boats is annoying as you do get a lot of annoying tire kickers and lowballers but the people that bought my boats were all good people in the end.

I bought in the states twice. My advice is similar but I would pick a specific model and length that u like so that u can compare apples to apples. That's what I did. Then I looked daily for a few months and pounced when I saw a good value. Always water test it and have a mechanic go over it before u buy!!!!! No matter what Bull the tell you.

Wow. That must have been so tough. Our dog was real sick a while back and I almost broke just from the idea that she may have cancer. I am sorry for your loss

I tow a 16' crestliner fish hawk with a mini van rated to 3500lb - boat is 900, trailer 500 and motor 300 + extras at about 200 = 1900 lbs. I would not tow anything heavier with a minivan. Remember that 3500 includes your passenger weight too. And i believe these minivan towing weights are exaggerated anyways. I have not had any ramp issues but stopping quickly while enroute is the biggest concern, especially in rain and especially with front wheel drive. If you go with a mini van you better get trailer brakes for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!

Orlando fishing in April guide recommendations

Mosquito lagoon sounds like a great idea. In the general area and re fishing would be awesome there. I have been in Florida in the spring and summer in Marco island a few times. Great flyfishing I the beaches for snook!!!! Good times and sight fishing 2-30' from the sand. That is a cheap alternative. Landry
