  1. Great report and wonderful photos. I like the one with the two kids. You can tell they enjoyed themselves.
  2. Its a good lake! I've had many good days, and many bad ones...lol Good luck!
  3. Maybe it was a Sand Hill Crane
  4. Congrats! You have a cute little daughter! You actually had me going....lol
  5. Right on Mike! Even after all those skunked anglers you were able to key in on what was working. Looks like your completely setup for carp fishing. Good job.
  6. Glad to hear you OK JP! Keep on fishing, and keep on filming!
  7. Great report! Just like you, I love taking people new to fishing out and putting them on fish. Maybe I'm meant to be a guide...lol
  8. I got this reel and paired it with a 7'MH St.Crois Mojo Bass rod and I love it. I barely want to put it down.
  9. Just goes to show how protective dogs can be. To asctually jump on the bears back and try to take a chunk out of him.... Hope your dog's alright...and I hope you gave him his doggy treat for that display of heroism.
  10. Yeah I know...lol Believe it or not, he got that burn last weekend while we were fishing a tournament on Nip. He said it was still burning. But he didn't neglect putting on sunscreen that day...lol haha...he was only a young buck anyway...
  11. 90% of the time we're drifting as well. All depends on the wind.
  12. I hear ya...I've learned so much things from the people on this site as well, and I wish I could return the favor. Nice fish!
  13. Knowing it was going to be a nice weekend, I had my schedule all free for fishing. On Saturday, my brother and I took out the old canoe to one of our favorite little lakes. Fishing out of a canoe in thirty degree weather isn’t easy…lol…especially when you have to paddle. But when the fishing is good, I’m sure I could endure even warmer weather…lol Here are a couple we pulled in on frogs. This one looks like it just missed being a pike's lunch. Here's the nicest one of the day. I just don't know why he wears his hat crooked like that...but the fish didn't mind... The next day I left the canoe at home and headed for somewhat larger waters. My cousin Rob and I made plans to target some pike on a Pine Lake, a lake we haven’t tried, but have heard good things about. We got to the lake and immediately ran into trouble. We couldn’t find a launch… We asked a few locals that were out for a jog, and they tell us the lake only has private access but seemed as if they were hiding something. We managed to find a few openings were people were launching canoes, and small tinners, but no ramp. One of the locals mentioned something about a lodge owner that has a ramp and rents boats, but doesn’t allow the public to use it. We never did manage to find the lodge. Has anyone ever fished or launched into Pine Lake? PM me…lol Anyways, after collecting our thoughts, we decided to head to another near by lake where we KNEW there was a launch. We started the day looking for some pike. The fishing was tough and only had a one strike and a few follow ups, but nothing in the boat yet. Our game plan was to target pike, but after 2.5 hours of nothing, out came the bass sticks and we headed for cover. Boy was it hot out! We fished a nice meandering river system with very little current. The shorelines seemed to be either lillys and weeds, or heavy brush cover, leaning over the banks. After throwing a scum frog for a while with nothing more then a few boils, I decided to switch to something a little slower. Out came the texas rigged creature baits. I tossed it under the brush leaning over the edge, and just bounced it off the bottom. Right away I caught a nice largie. For the rest of the day, that seemed to be the pattern that worked best. Most of the fish were winched out of the thickest brush. You can tell they were hiding from the sun. Here’s a few pics, there were no monsters caught that day, but plenty of hook ups. We also got to see a nice young bull moose cross the river only yards in front of us. All I need now is an electric motor, I think it would make things soooo much easier.
  14. Nice fish and great report! I love how you break down the details. Keep it up!
  15. I've been out on Nip a lot lately and it may be just because I aint a pro, but its allays hit or miss. We usually go to the same few spots, and every day, the results varies. We fish anywhere from 18-28 fow. Stock up on jigs. Bring a variety of weights as well. When its real calm, I love using a really light jig. You can feel the hits much better. We mainly use worms for bait, but minnows and leaches work too. Gook luck!
  16. Haha...I wish I could help you out! I've been wanting one of them...lol I tried taking one from the local Subway, but it still had the ballot box still attached. (with my ballots in it)
  17. Nice fish! The water looks nice and clear as well.
  18. Good story! I'm sure it made you feel that much better about C&R huh?
  19. Well I haven't made a report out of my new boat yet, so here I go... Since I got my new boat, I've been fishing every chance I get and I love it. It sure beats a canoe. I've done a lot of walleye and pike fishing, and with bass just recently opening, I plan on hitting them often as well. Since there are already a lot of opening bass reports, I'd though I'd share an outing I had with my brother. He had never caught a pike, so I brought him to a sure bet spot where I knew there were plenty. They were not monsters by any means, but still fun to fish. I rigged us up with what I knew worked best and with the first cast, we had a fish on. We must have pulled in 12-15 pike with the average being around 22". The largest of the day was 29". Earlier in the day they all seemed to be buried in the thick lily pads, so all used used were spinner baits. Then later in the after noon we decided to relax and troll some shorelines, and I think we did even better. Again all on spinner baits. Enjoy the pics! ...that's not a vertical hold, the picture is just sideways...
  20. Right on! I like his show as well. Look forward to seeing it!
  21. Nice shots! Those will be some nice bucks come fall! I'm going to put mine out soon as well. Aslo plan on planting a small area with clover. Can't wait for hunting! But I can deal with fishing until then..lol
  22. Great report! I'm sure you all look forward to that each year! Are you going to tell the story behind the staches?
  23. lol....yeah, i noticed that. Read it too fast the first time I guess. I tried out that suggestion and it worked like a charm. Thanks Guys.
  24. How do I make the pump go in reverse? I have a ON/OFF switch, thats it.
  25. Yeah, I already have that screen installed. That is why I kinda crossed out something something stuck in the pump. I'll have to wait for a rainy day and see if I can locate the problem. Thanks
