  1. First of all, the picture of my transom looks alot worse than it is. There allready is am original "bend" in the transom. It only seems to have bent back about 1/4". The year of my boat and motor is 2008. The boat is rated for a 30hp, but I am unsure of its outboard weight restrictions, and the actual weight of my outboard. I do not have the ownsers manual. If I find a serial number, where can I find this info?
  2. I was going to say the same thing, had him for Chemistry. Interesting read...
  3. Yes, it is a 2x2, that was going to be a whole other post...lol What would this have been done for?
  4. Hey guys, I need some advice regarding my transom. I'll give you a little background first. I bought this boat used last year, and cannot remember seeing this damage prior to purchasing it, or at all throughout the fishing season. When I bought the boat, I was told a transom saver was not necesary, so I did not rush out and buy one. After only a couple trips, I went out and purchased a transom saver cause I did not like the ammount of movement (of my outboard, 30hp Honda) I was seeing. Now when I was preping the boat during the spring, I noticed the folowing damage. I am really not sure if it happened before I bought the boat or while I wasnt using a transom saver. It does not seem to have gotten worse since I noticed it, and I've had the boat out 4 times a week. Regardless, I'm just wondering if this is serious damage that should be fixed. Thanks for any advice! In this pic does the transom seem to be offset a little more than it should? This is the damage I'm worried about. Top view. You can see the transom slightly pulled away.
  5. Nice fish guys! Them northern lake walleyes are so golden.
  6. My exact thoughs...
  7. Now in regards to trimming the weed guard. Is it common to reduce the NUMBER of stands in order to increase hookups? I understand this may depend on what kind of stucture im fishing, and may increase the ammount of snags I run into.
  8. Haha, Thanks for the tips Harrison! I'll be going out this weekend, I'll try your advice and only bring my selection of jigs. Hope it works out! Thanks
  9. Looks like you had a great day, despite the rough water! That pack of boats looks alot like the one on the North Bay waterfront sometimes!
  10. Thats a nice ski!
  11. Last year I really got into fishing largemouth. I love flipping into wood and slop, and I've done really well using texas rigged creature baits. But last year I had attempted throwing some jigs with no luck. Now I will admit I was throwing them the way I bought them, with no modifications. Now I've seen a couple shows on WFN on how to modify swimming jigs, so my question to yous is the same: What should I do to my jigs before I get them wet? I've seen the skirts get trimmed; I've seen the weed guard get trimmed; Is the use of a trailer a must? What about those little rattles in certain brands? Talk to me about colour! Someone give me a clinic on jig fishing, lol Thanks
  12. I just went through the same thing. I had bad experience with humminbird's lower end units. I purchased the Humminbird 550 and was very disapointed with a $275 unit. I returned it and picked up a Garmin 500c. It is a very good unit and I am very happy with it. I've had the chance to understand how to read it, and it has improved my fishing by a lot. Good Luck
  13. Haha, yeah thats Rob! We have covered alot of water together.
  14. Those are some really nice fish! Makes me want to get out and try it! I allready have enough trouble trying to juggle trout, bass, walleye, pike & muskie...lol
  15. Headed out Sat morning disapointed with the rainy weather, but was glad there was no chance of lightning. Allthough we did not get poured on, there was a constant mist/drizzle all morning. Started off the day going for largies and managed to hook one nice hawg right away, but then the fishing died off with only a few hammer handles to show for. Gave up the slop and decided to try and find some active smallies. Ended up doing really well on rocky shoals and shorelines using senkos and chigger craws fishing very slow. Here are a few pics of the nicer fish of the day. Hope everbody had a fun opener!
  16. Sweet! I love catching on the slop frog!
  17. Nice smallie, nice bait!
  18. I sometimes hear that a good way to understand how you bait moves under water is to throw it around in your swimming pool. I was just wondering if chlorine would have any negative effects to my baits and line or even leave a chlorine scent.
  19. Just kidding...lol...What are you after?
  20. There are no fish in Nosbonsing, sorry!
  21. Nice fish! I went out without any success on Saturday. I must have only made 999 casts, cause i didnt catch anything...lol
  22. I though the same thing, last week I had caught a 25" walleye on talon, and it looked really aged, pale, scars, bad eye... This one looked really healthy for its age.
  23. Haha, I was a little upset that I forgot my OFC Tourny Sheet in the truck. Allthough I think we allready have one that beats it... Yeah, I love fighting those things on light action rods. They were hot too, must have caught well over 10 of them...
  24. Walleye was 27.5", must have been at least 7 lbs. Didnt measure or weight the sheaphead.
  25. Got a chance to bring out my dad fishing for fathers day. We ended up having a very well outing. I also managed to catch two PB! We did run into a couple of idiots on sea-doos, purposly clipping by us at full speed. I would go on about them, but I won't... 27.5"
