Spent a week 9 yrs ago on the West Bay at a cottage resort mid summer. Fishing was tough. Couldn't even find smallies near typical structure. Had to take a long run to the French for any fish. Treacherous rocks everywhere. Lew knows the West Arm well.

Pretty slick operation Best crankbaits and stick baits out there IMO. Getting a bit expensive. Bought a wack from Lebaron's before they checked out.

I have better luck on the Kawarthas in June. They hang around healthy weeds. Typical use smaller jigs with grubs or minnows in the early season. I think a slower presentation in the cold water is preferred. Light line. I prefer natural colours. Some guys like white, yellow or chartreuse. Don't know about Shield lakes.

Anybody know of good weedless jig heads to put grubs or swim baits on for eyes on the Kawarthas? Some days bucktails don't do the job. Going to the Sportsman Show. Who sells them there?

Heard the perch eat a lot of laker and whitefish spawn.

Glad to see the back of February Starting to get the tingles for soft water.

My daughter just got pulled over by a cop for her licence plate. One of the letters sits about half an inch above the rest. Had the plate for 3 yrs. Checked her papers and let her go. Can't believe it.

Unfortunately this happens far too often. They bring them to my clinic all the time. Sometimes dead on arrival. Sometimes needing to be euthanized. Sometimes with only minor injuries. Often times needing major work including orthopaedic surgery costing thousands. All because of carelessness. "I can't believe he ran across the road after that squirrel ". It's too bad.
