Wow. You have a lot of success with figure 8s. I'm watching every retrieve for follows with polarized sunglasses. Certainly will do a figure 8 then, for at least a minute. Otherwise just an L with every cast. Have caught some by a short cast in the direction they spook off after a follow.

Found one this morning nearby. About 10 inch diameter. Completely white. Should I harvest it or wait a day or 2?

I get the usefulness of a figure 8. But after a day of casting, the frequent figure 8s have cut the total number your casts down by maybe 10-20%. How many other fish could have been caught. Just sayin.

So you don't even need to push your rod tip way under the surface to do the figure 8. Mind you this was a top water lure.

Don't forget as the season progresses their teeth get bigger before the spawn. A spoon protects the line. Meat or fly lines are exposed to those teeth with a deep bite. Charlie Wray told me at a fishing show to use fluorocarbon leader material to connect to flasher if not using spoons. Especially in August. Makes sense.

Saw a guy with scottys downrigging for walleye. Ever hear of that?

How do you guys store your plastics? Jigs, tubes etc. Got at least 10 bags. Gulp. Etc. Thinking of a plastic box 7 inch wide 5 inches high. maybe a foot long. Who makes such a thing?

Anywhere from 8-25 ft off weedy humps mainly. No apparent colour preference. Catching the odd mid sized ski too jigging for eyes So far I'm impressed with the Nonofil I put on in the spring. 10 lb with an 8 lb Vanish leader( 10+ yr old Vanish too). Putting on crazy glue to secure plastic jigs has helped. Still lose a lot of tails. No break offs. Even tough snags on the bottom. Casts real nice. Peter

Been catching lots of under slot eyes. Weed edges and deeper. Jigs and diving cranks. The future looks promising ? Only a few in the slot. About the same amount over.

Been looking at the new high end ones with anchor feature etc. ??? Ain't cheap. $2.5k +

Just drove thru a large area of dark sky and torrential rain south of Lindsay Official radio warning of rotating clouds and tornado risk.

Caught a 36 incher last evening jigging for eyes. Most fight I've seen in a Muskie in a long time. Diving, jumping. Wouldn't give up. Swam away strong after unhooking too. Hope it survives
