  1. I too hate Photobucket after using for 6 mo Got rid of it. No picture posting since.
  2. Thick healthy eye!
  3. Thanks for asking. Not Limited. XLE AWD. The middle level.
  4. Will be moving to Kawarthas in the future. Lots of snow. FWD would do but AWD preferred for safety me thinks.
  5. Time to get the wifey a new car. Doesn't drive much. 5-10k km/yr. Want a reliable AWD taller vehicle that's easier to get in and out of. Not too big. Toyota dealer has a RAV4 2013, 63K km. I'm a good negotiator. Best price is $22K. $30k new. Only 1 used RAV4 on lot. They have a hard time keeping them in stock. Their best selling vehicle- New and used. Found out lots of used cars shipped to US thanks to the dollar. They are scarce here. That's crazy for a 4 yr old small SUV. Test drove a new Subaru Crosstrek. Seems good and well rated. They say best AWD system. Can get new base model with heated seats (a must for Boss) for $26.5k. For $4.5k a new car over the Rav4. Anybody have any knowledge on them? Thanks Peter
  6. Keep all food in vehicles during the night there. The raccoons are plenty and smart.
  7. Perch numbers are low. Mostly bluegills and Rockies. Some guys can find crappies.
  8. Just panfish open in the winter on Pigeon.
  9. Just saying the Pilot was reworked last year. I think they've had some tranny troubles in the past. You have had good luck with them. My neighbour spent $3k on a new tranny without towing.
  10. I'd be interested in what the Gearheads have to say. My guess is the Toyota Highlander has the best reputation. The Pilot is a new model.
  11. I understand the timing meter only measures time running. Nothing to do with RPMs. Not a great indicator of use of engine when buying used or wear and tear.
  12. I've caught bullheads but not channel cats in Simcoe South of Georgina
  13. Was going to post the question "Will Simcoe freeze over this winter with the current cold snap?" Seems unlikely
  14. Cool. Didn't know what those spare washers were for. Neat the way he transfers line between spools.
  15. Feb 17-20. Including Family Day on Monday I'm looking forward to it.
  16. Thought this might be interesting http://www.scout.com/outdoors/wired2fish/story/1744765-8-unwritten-rules-of-boat-ramp-etiquette
  17. Just beware of used boats that have been used a lot on big water. They may have taken a pounding. Smaller inland lakes preferred IMO. And owned by a little old lady. ?
  18. They rock lately. Fun to watch.
  19. Look at the belly on that eye. Lots to eat on Nip it seems.
  20. I paid $1000 extra for my 115 Yammy when I bought my Lund new in 2007. In 2007 Merc started making their own 115 4 str power heads Till then they used the proven Yammy power heads. I'm always reluctant to buy new unproven technology. At the same time E-tec came on the scene. Sounded amazing. Same problem. Too new.
  21. Aluminum boats come in riveted and welded The better boats have double bottoms and ridged "I" beams beneath the floors rather than ribs. Ribbed boats will end up leaking sooner down the road. I have a Lund now for 10 yrs. no problems. My last boat was an entry level ribbed boat. Leaked badly after 10 yrs. Met a CO on Nipissing a few years ago with a Crestliner. Welded. That's big water and he said they beat the crap out of it. No leaks. Bigger the boat the better. More HP needed and harder to tow and store. Big decisions. Watch Kijiji
  22. Sounds amazing. Make sure you give us a report once you've used it for a month.
  23. Took a run up to the cottage Surprised to see the Narrows wide open from shore to shore as far as the eye can see in both directions. North end of Pigeon is still locked up but covered with water.
