  1. the mounts ive seen by advanced do look pretty good, and very detailed. i just dont like how they look so glossy. Like they have a fresh coat of wax or something
  2. i bought a cheap combo a few years ago when i just got into musky fishing that is still going strong. 7ft Berkeley Tactix rod, that i paid like $50. its done the job, but im looking to upgrade for next year. something longer and lighter. i really like the Legend tournament, but dont like the price tag. Quantum Cabo CBC31 reel. got it for under $200 taxes in, due to it being discontinued. i wanted low profile LH, i was going to go with this or the Revo Toro 61, but this was cheaper, and rated for salt water use (to use on a travel rod) currently using 80lb PP super slick next combo will be longer rod (maybe 8' - 8'6") and lower gear ratio 5.0:1 preferably
  3. big musky baits cast farther then smaller baits, and if i was fishing from shore (which i dont do) i would want to cast as far as possible to cover the most water. not that im condoning their actions, or anything like that. just throwing that out there
  4. thats what hes paid for, id expect no less
  5. sub forums would be nice. general NF discussion gereral fishing discussion fishing reports etc. those who want to read certain post can chose to do, and not have to sift throught the others first. i however enjoy all types of posts. (except the what are you listening to post) lol
  6. i stayed there couple weekends ago. the room was very musty, i found it hard to sleep because the pillows were so musty and smelly. parking was hard with a trailer, but we made it work. there was a boat docked there, but he probably had to jump down 5 ft or so to get in. we didnt dock there. we got there around midnight, and there were fish jumping out of the water like crazy. and i dont mean small fish, and i dont mean splashing. fully jumping out of the water, and this lasted all night. no clue what type of fish it was. but we did take a few casts with no luck.
  7. was there a couple weekends ago...only got to fish about 5 hrs due to 40km winds i boated a PB 8lb walleye, and also a sheepshead and white perch although we were talking to some people who were staying at Merland park, and they got skunked that day
  8. not too difficult to setup a popup in the wind. - line it up with 1 side facing the wind - anchor all corners down - pop out the side facing the wind, and tie it down to the anchor - then pop out the other sides, tie them down and youre good to go Its easier with 2 guys, but can be done solo
  9. pinheads or shiners are probably cheaper and more effective for perch
  10. did you have runners installed on your fish trap guide?
  11. http://www.lebaron.ca/pdf_files_sp13/penn_reels.pdf heres a cheap $100 Penn combo at the bottom of the page. Might be good bang for your buck
  12. replica fish as for the others, sounds like no
  13. not every team has the luxury of a top 5 pick every year. we'll see how right they are doing it when those rookie contracts expire and its time to pay all that young talent
  14. brutal trade? care to give an example? i for one dont think luongo is done. Cujo and Belfour did pretty well as Leafs when they were "Past their prime" and there are a million other goaltenders who just got better as they got older. Hasek, Brodeur, Osgood, tim thomas, etc. love all the Burke haters here. He is building the team the right way. Beauchemin for Lupul & Gardiner is one of the greatest trades ive seen.
  15. welcome back. great pics. what kind of camera do you use?
  16. trolling i never knew about the inline planer boards...ill have to look into them
  17. not much info regarding gear in that link. im curious as well
  18. i bought a couple at sail around $8-$9 during their tax free sale
  19. ive thrown it maybe twice this year. (no catches) wasnt very high on my to-do list
