  1. google "'stripping basket for kayak"
  2. So very sorry to hear this, my condolences to you and your family.
  3. Saw this on MSN when I booted up this morning, I spoke briefly of what effect it could have on today's society and like global warming there ain't really much man can do about it. http://www.msn.com/en-ca/video/wonder/a-huge-solar-storm-is-coming-and-could-cost-dollar20-trillion-of-damage/vi-AAsRpeH but the light show would be worth it
  4. You don't solve global warming or cooling for that matter, you need to adapt just like the dinosaurs, OOPS , bad example.
  5. Enforcement of fishing violations has always been put on the back burner in the fall as CO's turn their manpower to hunting season.
  6. Up there with George and Roy , RIP
  7. Exactly, Canada, with our relatively low population and vast forested areas we are by some calculations already carbon neutral or maybe carbon negative,
  8. Saw something about 4 people in a capsized canoe in the Kawarthas and 2 missing. edit: http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/2-toronto-men-missing-after-canoe-capsizes-in-kawartha-lakes/ar-AAsIzL3?li=AAggNb9
  9. I understand when the Indy 500 goes electric they will have to change the name to the Indy 50.0
  10. another pic with stranded fish, hopefully spring runoff will flush the silt. I would think most successful reproduction takes place further upstream. 22046501_2077182605893876_4839928927406872325_n by D T, on Flickr
  11. They say a power failure caused the gates to open leaving the fish ladder high and dry. 22045823_2077182619227208_2781883843186613029_n by D T, on Flickr
  12. You obviously don't fish 12 / 14 miles offshore in the bluezone Lake Ontario, white bucket with foam pipe insulation around the rim works well for emergencies
  13. West coast style boats with forward consoles and a big dance floor at the back tickle my fancy for trolling with lots of toys on the transom, don't see these Lunds and Smokers here much but I like http://www.lundboats.com/boat-models/1800-sport-angler/ http://www.smokercraft.com/showroom/2017/americanangler
  14. I ran one of these for over 20 years, except I had an 90 V4 Johnson and a 9.9 Rude on the back trolling the Big O for salmonoides and Erie for eyes with riggers and multiple rodholders for other lines, as a strictly troller I'd prefer this layout to the dual console fishing boats. The front deck was only used for a big cooler and the front seat socket for a planer board mast and a bimini. It had good interior depth and ran rougher water well for a tinner. http://centerpointeservice.com/boats-for-sale/1983-sylvan-18ft-center-console-pewaukee-wisconsin-5792742/?print=1&full=1
  15. I like and use Bushnell Optics but on a costly remote hunting trip I would not use Bushnell optics as I have had several failures in the field and warranties don't help much when you are miles away from a repair depot, give me a Leupold or maybe high end German optics for that trip.
  16. Wonder how many Willies they have gone through in my time ? Seem to remember an albino one at one time.
  17. Friend of my wife got snow in Edmonton in the last 24 hrs
  18. I like the 2630 with 175 yds of 8 pound mono on a 8.6 ounce reel, good drag , have to look at it for a Lake O shorecasting reel.
  19. Another vote for old school Daiwa Whisker Tournament.
  20. I always slept on the front bench seat when a bench seat was standard in a pickup with my gear in the back under the tonneau, don't know what you do now with the bucket fronts and a console and drink holders for the vanilla double milk latte sucking pickup crowd
  21. All I had was clouds here, but I think I also waited too late, like after dark, seems there was some activity here while the sky was some light still. Seen these shots posted from the 7th. https://www.facebook.com/rascniagara/photos/pcb.2009259569307238/2009259522640576/?type=3&theater
  22. Thanks for the report, those are some pretty nice gators. Not much of a pike fisherman but I always found they didn't bite that well at night, but my PB did come at night throwing a Hula Popper for bass.
  23. Looks like a great trip and nice pictures, a little surprised to see what looks to be a severe infestation of invasive Japanese Knotweed in that first picture, I had thought it was a localized problem to BC and southern Ontario. It really does choke out any native species
  24. Thanks for the reminder, ours is the 15th and she has a birthday on the 13th, the big six OOOOOOO. She don't read here, I hope
  25. Nice, they are still quite silvery for this time of the season.
