  1. Oops failed to say we were interested in watching on TV or maybe online.
  2. My wife would like to start watching some basketball, really only interested in the Raptors. Can't seem to find any low cost options. Anyone ??
  3. The Ruffed Grouse in the south are like a different species compared to the road chickens up north, flushed birds on the wing are about the toughest target there is.
  4. Nice birds, even nicer gun, an Ithaca 28, aren't they special order only? Had a 28 gauge 870 skeet grade back in the 70's 80's when I shot a lot of skeet, it was my go to gun for woodcock.
  5. Actually Smith and Wesson make a few guns for the Canadian Market, what with our barrel restrictions , several handguns come with 4.2 inch barrels just for us
  6. We had our first frost of the fall here last night in the sunny south.
  7. Don't look at the spots, look at the relationship of the rear of the jaw and the eye. Browns are like largemouth and Atlantics are like smallies.
  8. Not an Atlantic . Those spots though are more like a resident than a lake run fish though, great fish.
  9. Was this posted on April first
  10. Personally I find that roe juice is way messier than worm poop. When it dries on stuff it is even worse, just look at the rod handle , reel and wader fronts of a serious roe fisherman.
  11. If you got nightcrawlers, why fool with beads Been steelheading since the 60's and over the years crawlers have banked more fish under less than ideal conditions for me than roe.
  12. Never towed with a front wheel drive but casual observation has told me they are about the worst vehicles for traction at a launch ramp. I have towed with a 2 wheel drive pickup and had no problem. Get limited slip/ posi type rearend , it helps.
  13. And the hero of that Cup series is now in the blue and white
  14. Great fish I may be mistaken but I think Tigers are a sterile hybrid, so it's death is not affecting the gene pool. I recall they are used to reduce populations of unwanted species in lakes , used because they can't create an established population. Esox's version of the splake
  15. Looking at the map, I used to fish the bar area and launch at St. Catharines Marina at Port Weller, the distance looks about the same. We used to downrig for staging fish just outside the dropoff. Watch the border marker in that area.
  16. The regs say in the mouth, not inside the mouth. Most fish I get on a stickbait like a Rapala, with 2 or 3 trebles will have a hook somewhere outside of the actual mouth, guess they are all snagged too
  17. http://canadiangunnutz.com/
  18. As a kid I was hyper sensitive to poison ivy. I could get it off the hounds, direct contact of course, even from the smoke of burning a field. Lost school time cause it was in my nose, eyes , face after the smoke episode. Parents and I were desparate and a doctor in Welland gave me a series of shots, 4, I think a week or so apart. Since that I may have had a couple of quarter sized patches that might have been poison ivy. For me it was a cure. That would have been in the mids 60's however Google search of poison ivy vaccine shows it has been withdrawn years ago as ineffective only temporay effect, they never asked me
  19. Heck , going to elementary school in the 50's I recall we did "God Save the Queen " every morning along with the Lord's Prayer, I think "O'Canada" didn't beome the norm untill late 60's. Bet the lib-left would choke on those if they brought them back.
  20. Looking at the games stats , I saw Reimer got the #1 spot of the three stars of the game opening night, Ok with that, but then last night I see Bernier listed as the 3rd star with Troy Brodie and Braden Schenn as the first 2 stars, do the guys that pick these stars even watch the game
  21. 15 rounds to get 1 past the goalies Think the boys were having fun with the fans, I'm pretty sure that was preplanned.
  22. I've still got my old 1510b Lowrance graph down in the basement Don't have the heart to pitch it, bought in 79 I think back when Shortwave Marine was still on Stavebank, they really made them back then, no plastic case, real metal case, ran it all thru the 80's the heydays of salmon fishing . I think I paid for it about the same as a new HDS 5 today, with inflation they'd be over 2 grand today
  23. Appropriate song for today's date
  24. Been quite a few years, but don't forget about the tribs flowing north to that other lake.
  25. Some dandy looking white saddle hackles on that bird, streamers or jigs anyone
