  1. Saw a few huts out there yesterday near the shore. No idea how thick the ice is so beware.
  2. I have it and love it! Better accuracy than my Lowerance GPS
  3. A friend of mine once told me "the years between 55 and 65 are far better than those between 65 and 75". As I approach 55, I'm getting out as soon as I can.
  4. I hope to find some type of employment more to keep me somewhat occupied that for the $. But it has to be a job where someone does it when I'm not there. I find working in management nobody does my job when I'm not there and I come back to hundreds of emails. And a job with no email would be great!
  5. If it ever got to be a distraction, I'd take it down. Most we get is a few cars who stop in front of the house for a bit.
  6. That will be me in 21 months and counting - for exactly the same reason!
  7. I don't know why my neighbours keep moving? PS - I've heard all the Griswald comments by the way.
  8. Thanks! I figured as much and I'd like the assurance of having power. Do you run yours off of propane, gas, oil, etc.?
  9. In less that 2 years the wife and I will be retiring to the Kawarthas most likely we'll be on Upper Buckhorn Lake. I've wondered if I should get a back up generator. So what's the opinion of those who live in the area, if you don't mind commenting?
  10. The guy who captains the "Dot Com" boat is also a pilot for Jet Blue. He says as he saying goodbye to the passengers he always gets "Where have I seen you before" look.
  11. I have 2 Samsung tablets. The 7" is great for portability and the 10" is great for everything.
  12. I use it for various uses in my outboard, snow blower, weed eater, lawn mower, etc........... and if it wasn't for being on this board, I would have never known about it. Love this board!!!
  13. WOT, wife strapped in, holding on tight to the dog!
  14. yes, we'll have a 14' with a 9.9
  15. Not that it would be much comfort but you should be able to pass on any vets bills from injuries caused by another dog.
  16. Hi there, going to spend next Friday and Saturday running around these lakes checking waterfront properties. I doubt we'll have a spare minute but if we do I'd appreciate some advise on lure type and colour for bass or walleye. Not expecting anyone to give up hot spots or anything. Just like to have a fighting chance. The wife will be with me so the pressure will be on if we get a chance to wet a line. Thanks all!
  17. This wing tip looks a lot like the Hearst Air colours. Was it them you went with?
  18. Markham to Barrie every day, 5 days a week = 1,000km/week and about 100 litres in fuel. But way better than when I worked downtown. I come home stress free and I've found there's actually music on the radio, not just traffic reports.
  19. Who's the outfitter on this one?
  20. After this month's trip, double the amount of mosquito coils you think you'll need, extra mantles for the camp lanterns, fly strips - we forgot them one year and the flies in the cabin drove us crazy, extra fishing line in case you get spooled, spare rod and reel, 50' of rope (anchor lines, boat lines, clothes lines etc), golf towel - I put in in the boat to dry my hands, hand creme (no jokes fellas) as I find that having wet hands that are nicked from fish and hooks makes my hands a mess. That's all I can think of beyond the usual. One more thing - an extra day of food in case the plane can't get in due to weather. Also, as per the above post highly recommend Sea Foam!
  21. I love it! I have it on 2 tablets and on my S5. Way better accuracy than on my $1,000 chart plotter. The only thing I'd like them to do is to have the track up feature. Otherwise I find it excellent and way better than paying $300 or more for the chip.
  22. Call Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty!
  23. We catch a lot of perch trolling 8-12 feet with a tiny spinner bait. Green seems to work best.
  24. had the same problem with mine. Something had chewed the wires.
  25. Water looks to be quite high.
