Never weighed any muskies I caught, just measured them and got them back into the water as quickly as I could. When I show the photos first question is always "How much did it weigh?" Not everyone is impressed by length alone, but it's good enough for me. C&R fishermen are quite impressed but those that eat what they catch always want to know the weight. If I added my 3 biggest I would probably get 50lbs. I'll tell you one thing, they always seem heavier when you catch them in a kayak.

I saw them in Waterloo when they were opening up for The Cult. They were so bad we booed them off stage. They were hammered. Ian from The Cult came out and told us to show GnR some love. So we started booing him too. Six months later Appetite for Destruction went through the roof and people were going nuts for it. Just shows that videos can make the band, or at least sell your albums. Probably the worst live act I ever saw.

Why have I never seen a fight between fishermen of any species other than trout? I stopped fishing Bronte creek years ago because of fights I witnessed. I'm not making a judgement, just asking a question. Must be because of the proximity between anglers. I guess if musky fishermen had to fish shoulder to shoulder they might scrap too, but somehow I doubt it. Maybe it's because of the reverance placed on the species as an almost holy entity and the fact that catch and release is nearly 100%. While the trout is viewed more as a meal and if someone tried to steal off the table of my family I would probably act the same way. Is it only coincidence that most of the bashing on all fish boards, not only OFC, revolves around these anglers?

I can't offer you any advice, but your son is very lucky to have an understanding father who will love him unconditionally. That's the whole battle right there. I would think the hebegeebees are natural, I know I have to change the channel any time I see that. Maybe try to explain to him how uncomfortable it makes you. Very brave of you to ask for help here and I agree that friends that shun your family because of this weren't real friends anyway.
