  1. That's a bright one clampit. The car I traded to buy my tercel was a 1996 Z24 2dr. It had the coldest A/C and the best brakes of any car I've owned. After that everything went downhill. It did have 240,000km when got $600 for the trade in. Good luck, I hope it does the intended job for you.
  2. We decided to go to Blair and fish as a family Monday evening. When we arrived I was surprised to see so many cars in the parking lot. I figured everyone would be eating or hanging out with family for thanksgiving. There were two couples of eastern European decent set up still fishing for carp with corn off to one side and another gentleman using worms on the other side. We had about 30ft between them to cast our jig & grub combos hoping to catch some smallies. I caught this one after about 5 minutes on a white 1/8oz jig & grub. My daughter, who had just learned to lip bass this summer at Pigeon lake, decided she would hold and release any fish I caught. She only fished about ten minutes before she lost interest. She decided to name the fish as I caught them. This one was greeny. This is stripes. After having no action on her orange jig w/pumpkinseed grub, my wife and I swapped so she could throw the white one. I then caught this one on her jig and pole. It was the biggest of the evening and splashed my daughter when she released it. The moon is almost full as we called it an evening just before 7pm. In the hour we spent there, I caught 6 smallies, the worm fisherman caught 2 suckers around 2lbs and the European couples landed and kept one carp around 5lbs and lost one at the shore that was close to 12lbs. They were all quite entertained by my little one as she talked to the fish when she released them. We said goodbye to everyone wishing them a happy thanksgiving and good luck. You gotta love the Grand .
  3. Here is a link for you Wild. It has more historical info than anything but you can link on the trail map on the top left corner. http://www.sju.ca/grt/pioneertower.htm Kuntz park is where the tower is.
  4. That is a step up danbo. I have had 4yrs of good use from my Canadian tire $279 special (they now sell for $399) but I had to find out if I was really into the sport before I invested big bucks. I've had my Sportspal canoe for 15yrs so I figured 15yrs from now I'll be 60 and I wanted something light enough that I could still roof it on the car.
  5. Do you have your heart set on a Camry? Because you could probably get a Corolla in the 95-97 years in your price range and get better gas mileage. Or even a Tercel, but I'd stick to 97-99 for them. I got lucky when I found my 97 Tercel 2 yrs ago and it only had 67,000km on it. But I paid just under $5000.
  6. Drove 270km up to Bracebridge on Saturday to Muskoka Outfitters to buy a new kayak. Man the 400 was slow going. It took me 3.5hrs up and 2.5hrs back. Bought a Native Watercraft ultimate 12 tegris model. Man this sucker is light, 28lbs for a 12ft boat with the seat removed, 36lbs with it in. Easy to put on the roof and didn't even notice it was up there when I was driving. Here it is about to begin it's maiden voyage in the Grand river. Anyone recognize this spot? 1st fish was a little smallie that hit a 1/16oz jig & grub combo in yellow. This one hit a 1/8oz jig & grub in white. Ended up with 5 smallies, all around the same size, and one crappie. Nice day to be on the water. Saw 1 canoe and 5 kayaks in 2.5hrs. We are taking over the world people so throw away your operators cards and pick up a paddle .
  7. Haven't been to Wildwood in a few years. Always caught pike there and sometimes a nice smallie or two as well. Thanks for reminding me, maybe I'll have to make a trip out there before the snow flies.
  8. The Cougars come out in droves to feed on the young and drunk during Okslobberfest.
  9. Ha ha. That was great. Too bad he wasn't driving an FJ or a Tundra. He could have driven right over the cruiser and drove away.
  10. Sweet smallies bushart. You gotta love them when they colour up like that.
  11. Nice musky ehg, and on a super shad perch, cool.
  12. Nice markings on that musky, even in the water you can see the stripes. Great report.
  13. Looks like a fun time had by all. Thanks for posting.
  14. Great fish doughboy. I really like the "just released" shot.
  15. Nice one Mike. Try a jitterbug for some killer topwater action.
  16. Will do nomad. I just bought a new yak today so I'm dying to get out in it. Have to wait till after hockey tomorrow morning though. I'll post pics of it on yakfisher.net after my outing.
  17. The 4cyl is the way to go. Mileage like that is nothing on a toyota. You'll be able to tell from the way the rest of the car looks as to how well the owner took care of it. I put my 85 toyota cressida to rest in 2004 after 335,000km only because the body had finally rotted out. My 94 lexus gs300 has 250,000km on it now and shows no sign of slowing down. The timing belt isn't a big problem on those camrys because, unlike hondas, it's a non interference belt. In other words, if it goes, you just have to replace it and it doesn't screw up the syncronicity of the engine like when a honda's goes. Take it to your mechanic for a compression test if you can.
  18. Thanks to Oktoberfest I retired from drinking in 1985. Still have the pic of me and Walter onstage together at Queensmount arena from that night. I'll have to scan that one sometime .
  19. Anders, yee of little faith, the B's will make the playoffs again and advance to at least the second round. I hope.
  20. Don't forget a rapala J-13 in a bright colour like orange or yellow, that always gets them if they won't chase a bucktail.
  21. Good job man, I like the looks of those spotted bass, too bad we don't get them up here.
  22. That looks like a great time with an old friend. Good fishing and good weather doesn't hurt either. Some nice largies there boys.
  23. Congrats zman. How big were they and how high where the water levels?
  24. If the ministry is hard up for cash they could go to Mountsberg on any Saturday. I saw a guy with live minnows, alcohol, he didn't pay and he was bragging to others that he brought home a garbage bag full of pike last weekend. He was also fishing from the railway tracks which would earn him a trespassing charge and a hefty fine. The sign is in plain view in the parking lot and states no live bait, no alcohol and a 2 pike limit.
  25. Congrats on your first. Pigeon has always been very good to me for musky as well. I usually fish with bucktails but have caught a few trolling or casting J-13's in orange too.
