  1. Anything Pacino can do, DeNiro can do better.
  2. Nobody pulls it off like Pacino. If it's all black, it's a Serpico hat.
  3. Here's a link to an interesting musky story out of Wisconsin. I guess it's been awhile since a 50lb'er has been caught in that state. Does anyone do any row trolling for skis up here? http://www.muskyhunter.com/forums/generalforum/9446.html
  4. They both lost last night. The Bruins however, won in a shootout.
  5. Great report, and some awesome smallie pics. Those walleye weren't too shabby either. Thanks for making my morning
  6. I received one for a Christmas gift last year. I use it in my kayak and have been very impressed with it. I attach it to a nylon musky leader and drag it beside the yak. It has been bang on accurate in the rivers and lakes that I have fished. The batteries do seem to go pretty fast though. I only use it while drifting or when I'm trolling and want to keep an eye on the depth that I'm paddling in. When I'm fishing visible structure or a shoreline, I pull it back into the kayak and turn off the watch to save battery life.
  7. In my opinion, they lost their best young goalie when they aquired Raycroft. The Finnish kid Tuuku Rask, although he stayed in Finland for one more year, will be awesome for Boston for many years to come. Oh, and thanks for dealing Boyes to the sharks for Owen Nolan. The Bruins picked him up for Kyle McLaren. What was the score last night anyway
  8. Took the kayak out to Puslinch for one last spin on Sunday. Didn't have any luck, but did see two guys in a canoe catching pike on live minnows. Once the temps fall below 10C, I'm finished. Ice is for playing hockey on and keeping your drinks cold. Looking forward to the spring and all the fish that'll bring
  9. Nice walleye to finish the day off. How do those white bass fight? I've never caught one but they look stocky enough to give you a battle tougher than the walleye probably did.
  10. Kayak fishing is awesome. When you get a big one on, you effectively become the bobber. I don't know about going after great whites but musky and pike are a blast. Caught 4 muskies this year in the kayak and one of them knocked my digital camera out of the yak and into the lake. Here's a pic of a 35" pike I caught last year that turned the yak around twice before I could lay a hand on it.
  11. Very nice fish, but, what's the story? Give us the reel screeching blow by blow recap on the battle leading up to this great pic.
  12. All things being equal Jigger13, your boat will still be lighter in the bow than the stern with 2 drift socks. Try moving your back sock closer to the middle of the boat. It may take some experimentation until you find the balance point.
  13. Hey Outdoorguy, you should have stopped in to Mann's in Eufaula Ala. They had a real cool aquarium with a 16lb largemouth in it when I visited there in 1989. Also had some gar pike, big crappie, and albino catfish. I couldn't stock up on any lures as I was driving my motorcycle at the time. They had some real unique ideas for lures and soft plastics, if I remember correctly. Very nice people as well. It is located right on the border between Alabama & Georgia, on the shore of Lake Eufaula.
  14. Put up another vote for "Old Man and the Sea". Can't beat Hemmingway. Best character in a fishing movie goes to this guy. Gotta love when the fisherman becomes fish food. Best fishing scene is in "Waterworld" where Costner uses himself as bait, trolling behind his boat.
  15. I spent about 24 hours fishing for musky on Sturgeon and Pigeon and ended up with 9 musky between 25" - 40". I also got 4 skis in two hours in the kayak on Bass opener.
  16. I have seen many made of PVC pipe, but I hear that they don't stand up to heavy bush use. I have changed to larger wheels on mine, but I'm still looking to put some bike wheels on it eventually. Total cost (minus the hockey sticks) was around $12. Be creative over the winter and build your own.
  17. I built one myself, for my kayak, out of 4 hockey sticks. You could alter the design easily for a canoe. Add some pool noodle pieces and some bungee cords. So easy even a five yr old can pull it around. When you're on the water, the cart goes with you. Good luck.
