  1. Lots of snacks And maybe take a break from the fishing for a bit to mix it up
  2. I send to have a 7.5 h and now have an 8' h 8' is a lot better
  3. Instead of cleaning 10 perch every time I wanna eat fish I'll clean 50 and freeze em Then catch and release till I need more
  4. For 8" cranks I recommend jakes and depth raiders 8" hellhound glide baits work well Top raiders prop baits Storm giant flatstick is great crankbait The kawartha boys will likely have a longer list and st Clair trollers I hear like 4-8" baits
  5. I've only caught 1 musky EVER on lures over 10 inches... and it was a tiny musky For me the 8-10" range has been the best This fall I truly tried the big bait deal and I didn't get anything on baits over 10".... I had a big bait on at least one rod everyday once I hit November I just sold every lure I owned that was over 10" And some of the biggest musky to grace my boat were on 3-4" walleye cranks
  6. So I crossed the border today and asked some questions If I bring a package through customers to ship as I sold items online I would have to fill out 1-2 forms each time and a $13 USD fee Add that to the shipping and I'm right back to what I paid to ship from Canada So I guess I just have to sell more used tackle local
  7. It has to do with your amp draw If you run a bigger thrust motor at 50% speed instead of a smaller motor at 100% speed then the 2 batteries for 24 volt will give you significant extra run time But if the OP never uses his current motors full capacity then yes 12 volt 2 battery set up would do just fine
  8. I just did the same this year I have an old lund tiller 16' explorer that sounds like it's about the same size as yours Just put a 24v 70lb maxxum on my boat with 2 group 27 batteries 2 guys loaded up with musky gear and lunches are no issue for my 50 yammy You will splash a bit more if you put the weight up front like I did but it's similar to having a third guy in the front of your boat I set my boat up so the batteries are easy to remove... if I'm not gunna use my trolling motor I'll pull the motor and batteries in 5 minutes You'll be blown away at the speed you'll get outta that 80lb
  9. Thanks for all the info I never lie at customs so some of the advice doesn't fly with me lol I ended up shipping Canada post and next time I cross I'm gunna ask USA border crossing
  10. 3 boxes of used lures I received $350 for total
  11. Hello Anybody ever bring used goods across the USA border to remain in the USA? I sold some lures and shipping from Ontario into the USA is expensive so I'd rather drive them across the border and ship from that side if possible Anyone ever done this? Do you have to pay at the border? Thanks
  12. Ryan I have to ask as this happened to me Were you a few turns in or last turn breaking through the bottom of the hole?
  13. I use these https://www.marks.com/en/categories/workwear/mens-workwear/dakota/product/grip-on-20176.html#20176%5Bcolor%5D=ASSORT They are a good "lightweight" option and do ok on the ice I get them onto my size 13 boots They are definitely not the best on the market but if you want a lightweight compact set of cleats these are great If you want the best grip and don't care about weight I'd get something else
  14. Ice up (give or take a few weeks) has been the same for at least 10 years... from what I've seen here anyway... Local trout pond used to open Jan 1st and some years the ice was dicey... some years there was lots of ice... this year guys were on ice Dacember 18th in some spots while I was in my boat on the main river... I find wind is your biggest factor... more wind in December means less ice... and it was a windy month in December
  15. If it ain't broke don't fix it! Looking back I wish I held onto all my older rods
  16. The curado/ premiere combo you've researched will do good All my rods are premiers and the get the job done I used to have a curado but it was a little small for my needs/liking I'm using a daiwa Lexa 400 and a Abu Garcia revo toro winch and an Abu 7000i All great reels that come in lefty
  17. Nice Going Monday Hopefully we get something like tgat
  18. http://www.standard-freeholder.com/2016/11/22/hunting-ban-unnecessary-south-lancaster-fish-and-game-club
  19. They all suck in November for long term
  20. Nice trout That first pic is a fatty
  21. They are all good if you don't rush set up/break down... just take care of it and it'll last a while I have an Eskimo quickfish 3i It is insulated thicker material Fits 2 guys and gear easily I also regularly fish 2 guys and my little boy without an issue It's tall enough you can stretch your back without having to go outside (I'm 6'4") Sets up and breaks down fast... me and my regular fishing buddy can set up or break down in about 5 minutes including 1-2 ice anchors if it's windy I sold my flip over as I only used it once since I got this pop up
  22. Don't look at high end musky baits A DK fifty finder just auctioned for $169 USD last week lol
