Yes 2 5's is better than one 7. Moving finders around is just a pain. With my 8 if I'm side imaging I use the whole screen and then go to finder/gps screen when going back over a GPS pt. I've been in boats with 10's and on 4 screen split then are useless. I also have a 798si bird that I used the same way full SI or GPS/Fish Finder. Will be selling the bird soon just need to up date 798si to include down imaging. So having used both Lowrance and Birds the manuals and the menus for the bird are much easier to understand the Lowrance has better graphics. And nobody should spend 1000's of $ and deal with Lowrance Canada just call U.S. customer service.

I've used Reel Magic for 25 years. Line freeze helps, keeps your line floating pretty good keeps your line soft and pliable in below freezing. Definitely worth the effort. Never tried the KVD stuff because it's never on sale and way pricy.

I like to watch people progress in their fishing. I'm thinking of one person in particular 4 years ago caught every few fish at the Ganny 3 years ago we started helping him a little started to catch some and ate everyone. In these 4 years he constantly upgraded equipment he has also start some friends steelheading is learning how to Tye Fly's and the circle continues.
