  1. If that's a new boat I would get on board charger. If it's not I still would get on board charger.
  2. The difference between shore fishing. You look out from shore and boat fishing you look at shore. Not much else.
  3. Fish knows. Lot's of these OMC's don't start worth a crap unless the motor is trimmed level. Start using Sea Foam. And 1 issues is constant re fueling $10-20 every time you go out. Run your tank's down under 1/4 then fill up with nice fresh gas. Sounds like your need a seal job. Check your lower unit.
  4. Was down with Ron and a few guys fishing Cobourg Harbor this morning. Told a few stories, some the truth. Had a great time exploring around.
  5. The channel between the lakes is idle only all the way.
  6. It's a Nitro so BPS. And TSC in Bowmanville has good selection of trailer lights.
  7. New boat owners are the worst. Bass boat, tinny's big or small, runabouts doesn't matter the second I see idiots acting like idiots. NEW BOAT. Canoe's out with no life jackets that's a special form of IDIOTS. And the most special of all 20 ft wake boats on Muskoka and Lake of Bays type lakes just running around wide open kids standing up not a care in the world. Just Special.
  8. I threw Arig on and of for 2 days pike fishing and landed 1 pike. Me and a buddy landed 100 on jerk baits so the arig is down for now. Was very surprise how easy they wined I've thrown lot's of spinner baits the pull harder. Get into the fall they might show up.
  9. About the only requirement with a tube is hit water! After that things work out. Redwing Tackle Phantom has internal weight system that is adjustable in weight and comes with hooks. It's a good point more swim, less swim you can move your internal jig back and get more swim. Bass Magnet has tube jig head Flathead Goby that bumps out the sides to create a gopy appearance that helps with swim. Just ball head jigs for deep dragging you want to get the tube down with the lease amount of line out.
  10. Got July 14th circled. Might have wedding but will make it some time that day.
  11. Yes late 80's early 90's for the red bags. They smelled much like dog food until they changed them in middle 90's caught a ton of bass on 7" and 10" worms still have some.
  12. Them fat little fingers get in the way. Carp
  13. My job is to take money from golfers that think they can fish.
  14. My degree is in fishing. And you are correct that zebra mussel and water clarity are a factor, plus the re stocking of crappie in all the Kawrathas. Crappie establish them selves in a lake and then explode in size and numbers, and then normalize. So shoal spawning walleye spawn rite around ice out and the #1 predator is carp every spawning female will have 2-3 males with her and several carp. About 2 weeks the walleye fry hatch and swim to the surface were the most algae is just about the time the crappie head to the banks. In the very early spring all of these lakes are dead no bugs no minnows just young of the year walleye fry. The great luck crappie feed up and walleye fry are the available food source. It was my hope that Scugog was self protecting in it's water color and I think it lasted better than Tri Lakes but the water definitely stays clearer longer. The good news is Scugog is down but there are still guys out their catching good #'s. Slot limits played no roll in Rices come back or Sturgeons. The ticking time bomb is Balsam it's had the slot the longest. I haven't caught a giant in 3 years. Now if we get 2-3 years of poor spawn plus the crappie are starting to peak it will be a disaster. Each of the Kawrartha's will face this ticking time bomb, when the overs die off. Yes I'm worried!
  15. All the Kawartha Lakes walleye population have taken there turn at crashing. First was Rice made a huge come back, Sturgeon took it's turn and now is the best it's been in my life time. Tri Lakes still is down. And now it's Scugog turn. All these crashes seem to occur at the crappie peak and then walleyes rebound. Hopefully Tri Lakes and Scugog do the same.
  16. Those 80's Rudes had a dial on the front to adjust your carburetor. First do the sea foam and change the plugs. This adjustment dial will lean your carburetor or rich'n it up or less gas more gas. The key is to move dial just 1 notch and keep trolling might take 5 minutes and you will hear the motor change tones. Then decide if better or worst. Get the manual and find the start setting then you can adjust until they purr.
  17. I think we are just grumpy old farts, been to 100's of shows and one looks like the next. I work booths and see people just having a great time it's just the ones that know everything can't learn nothing are not worth talking too.
  18. If we can get our fish to the live release boat in good shape it's close to 100% live release. That's why the angler's are responsible and take the penalty. If we present the live release boat with stressed fish it's 50/50. And the live release boat wrongly gets the blame. The worst case I seen was 12-14 years ago, it was a spring tournament and we had to go a long way up a slow moving creek. For 12 days before the tournament it was 85-90 and this creek was the same. I brought a cooler full of Ice and my fish were weight healthy. It was a large tournament and a bad situation all around. Ever body learned that day.
  19. The flower show jump in an booked long term so those dates are not available.
  20. My goal is zero. In 30 years of tournament fishing I've taken 5-6 dead fish penalty's. I'm very aggressive with my live wells. And carry various Please Release Me, salt ect. They all piss me off but 1 on lake simcoe would have been big fish. Hooked just on lip landed quickly in the live well and rolled instantly never even tried just rolled. 1 lb penalty.
  21. You boys did see free and cheap. The "legality" by the time somebody finds somebody to call buddy will be gone.
  22. All that good stuff GONE IN 200 WORDS...........Sad Questioning love of Lakes and Community.........Mmmmm Good Luck with that. Don't worry about counsel wait until you need a dog tag or a permit.
  23. I will tell you something right now. Buddy over the other board his library card was revoked last Monday. He can't get a pass to the dog park. These people doing this community work, there family's have paid taxes for 200 years. They are everywhere. At your work down at the store they make your tax bill collect your garbage. They like tourist better than somebody that payed taxes for 12 years. Again I like you just friendly advice. And Good Luck
  24. Head down to Lake O. Maybe not Ashbriges Bay but Frenchman Bay or a dozen other spots.
  25. Big Cliff I like you very interesting cat. 12 years is great. I have family in very 1 of these community's born and raised there. These are the people that are members of the Chamber sit on every focus group on the board for everything. These are small tight knit community's I just hope it all works out for you. Good Luck Buddy.
